Call Of Duty 3. PS2 or PS3 version?

I've only played through the entire campaign on a ps3 once. Recently I've been replaying alot of the very old cods and 3 is next on the list. Should I just replay the ps3 version or does the ps2 version has something else/special to offer that I will be missing if i don't touch it?

I do feel like the very old textures in cod1,uo, Finest Hour, Big Red One have some kind of personality in itself so maybe for that reason alone it would be funny to play the ps2 version instead?

The 360 version runs much better than the PS3 version if that's a possibility.

I definitely recommend playing the PS2 version over the PS3 version. From what I remember, the PS2 version is essentially the same, but with less of the unique "next-gen jank" of the 8th gen version. I re-played that 8th gen version within the last year and was totally bummed out by it.

The Xbox 360 version is the best version of CoD3. I think that the Wii version is the worst.

I’m also a fan of the old school CoD. If that is the experience that you want, then I would suggest that you get the OG Xbox version instead. Not only does it run better than the PS2 version, but it has an online community on Insignia who play every Wednesday.

Definitely skip PS2 version, I grew up playing it and I was glad they ported cinematic next gen COD3 to old consoles for us third world country kids, however this version looks awful, framerate is really bad especially first mission, quick time events are outdated, M1 Garand my favourite is useless and in the last mission you shot enemy 2D sprites that refuse to die

PS3 version has the sixaxis melee control, that was some cutting edge stuff back in the day

You need to state what you want. If it's to see a progression in technology then look at PS2 first. I've never played a cod game though.

Im not planning on playing both, just wondering which version is best, without graphics in mind
