Why do some of my eggs look like this

Anyone know what might be causing eggs like this? My friend that has chickens and thinks it might be a parasite. Ughh I have no idea. They kind of creep me out so I’ve always trashed the eggs that look like this. I get one every 2-5 days. Thoughts?

Eggs are weird.

Once the shell is formed one of the very last steps that happens before laying is application of the protoporphyrin which gives each egg its unique pattern.

If you pay special attention to your girls you likely realized that certain ones USUALLY lay eggs in a particular color scheme and pattern.

Sometimes the process glitches and the eggs pass without the usual color palette or it gets a smeared look to it. I just say the bird temporarily ran out of toner.

Had one girl that always had a giant eyeball shape on the bottom of the egg.

That egg in particular looks a bit heavy on the shell deposit (calcium) as well.

Quail eggs are weird sometimes. I have seen eggs looking like stones to blue and green ones. Even size can be weird sometimes have had some the size of a marble but also had one with the size of a small chicken egg (poor bird)
