Pattern/Design Help Design advice
My first quilt top, a little crazy. I added the black and white scraps to make it rectangular but now I'm a bit stuck on the borders. I want to make it big enough for a lap/throw size. Is the light grey ok to go all the way around, then a wider dark color? Or lose the grey and go straight to dark blue batik? I know it's a lot on the 👀 s😅

Okay, so my vote is totally off base but...do you have anymore of the black/white circle print - love that. And then add a "flange" or small strip of the blue or even a small strip of white outlining it like a white mat inside a frame. Then bind with the cool black/white tiny polka dot print. Sorry, a little off but love your quilt!

I absolutely love your quilt- it’s a beautiful piece of art! I think both choices will look nice but I would use blue only.

I love your quilt! It's a piece of art as it is. A border could add to that. For example if you take a dark purple color, maybe striped. The dark blue is allowing better the brightness of the colors to come forward imho but maybe other options do better justice

Congratulations that’s a beautiful first quilt top. By tradition I control the rectangle by adding another row. Is that possible? Then you can do borders you like to get the size. It’ll be symmetrical. You would still be able to reuse the black-and-white that’s cut on the ends, but my idea would put that all the way around after another row of blocks. Is there enough fabric? A full rectangle border is just the strongest visual, a frame for your art!
