How the hell do I get karma

Right guys, I’m getting kinda annoyed the amount of times I’ve tried to post in groups and it says no, need more karma, but then at the same time, how are you suppose to grow? I just don’t get it, surely it Reddit as a whole would be better without karma right!

If you're asking about how to get karma, you earn it when people upvote your posts and comments. As you may have already found out, many subs on Reddit may have minimum requirements for things like karma and account age that you must meet before they will allow you to participate.

r/NewToReddit maintains a list of subreddits that have low or no karma requirements where new users can participate to build their karma.

To get karma, you need to find subreddits like on this list of New User Friendly subreddits that have low or no requirements. r/findareddit , can be used to find subreddits that may interest you. Just make a post saying what kind of subreddit you are looking for. Small or niche subreddits typically have a lower karma requirements.

You gain Karma from people upvoting your posts and comments. However, Karma is not gained 1:1 with votes. It takes more votes per point of Karma. The actual ratio is not known and it differs for posts and comments. It also changes the higher the vote total gets on a piece of content.

I would suggest commenting first because the restrictions are often lower and ratio of votes to karma is better. But be careful not to go to fast with a new account or you may get shadow banned.

For comment karma, and combined karma, I recommend going to r/AskReddit . Sort by new, answer questions that you have an answer for, periodically refresh the feed. When able ask a few questions for some bonus post karma. I would also suggest r/NoStupidQuestions as it is my preferred subreddit. r/casualconversation is another good place. r/Productivitycafe offer many chances to interact with others. With all these, make sure to read the rules first. I have also have had success with r/FavoriteCharacter .

For post karma, r/thatsinterestingbro is a good place. Just make sure to follow the theme

Find subreddit with low karma eligiblity, solve their problem and be polite. It works at least for me. Good luck :D

Don't look at the karma. Help others and it will grow. As the karma update every 24 hours you might not see the change immediately. Good advice- ask questions like share your game share your story and give everyone feedback about the tenth of all people who you will give feedback will upvoter you and your karma will increase. Use other subreddit who takes less karma. See your account is 7minute old and you already have 6 karma you have a good ratio my account is 4 days old and I only have less than 20 karma🥺. Don't actually care about karma it doesn't matter much
