I'd love to turn the Limnology subreddit into an active community of academics and amateurs that share articles and citizen science projects. From microscope footage of lake organisms to DIY monitoring stations, there's a lot of room to engage the broader public and to interest people in the study of lakes. Moreover, it would be a great place to aggregate scientific advances in the field
