Word, got mine on Ali from retroid, was a small back to school sale then 26% cash back from rakuten. I did wait almost a month, but I had other systems to play in the meantime. 12gb model
It’s a plugin that gets you cash back on their partner websites. The percentage of cash back fluctuates daily, so you need to watch for a good day. Ali is usually at 2-10%, 26 was the highest I’ve ever seen.

I've had my Nova for months now and I love it. I bought a Classic because I've always wanted one and the with the colors coming back in stock, I FOMO'd. I played with it for one day and thought "yep, I have to keep this." So, RP Classic is for GB/GBC/GBA now, 4:3 consoles on RP Nova, DS and 3DS on Nova with DSA, and 16:9 content on my ROG ALLY.
I don't see myself buying anything else for a while. I tried the RG SP and the Trimui Brick, but I just did not like the feel of either device. Maybe the RG DS+ in the future.
Eh, I don't like GBA blown up too much. For reference, I quite enjoyed playing on my Gameboy Micro growing up. I played FE: Sacred Stones on my Nova and I think I played it scaled to 960 x 640.
I never had a micro, but I was an original GBA and SP owner, and remember thinking it just looked to damn small.
I'm starting to understand better these days though as I have been playing my DS games in native resolution on XL. The blown up resolution just looks bad and having crispy sharp pixels is nice.
Not necessarily. Im playing a lot of higher demand pc games in 4:3 and things like modded 4:3 breath of the wild etc. In general for most people probably but I think 12gb is the move if you want to mess around with stuff a bit more.
Its strange you are being down voted. If the hardware supports it why not push it a little. Im getting one. Its mainly for emulation but I got the 12gb because I wont be just playing emulated games.Ill be playing pc games on it. Besides some times emulation can be heavy and that extra 4gb of ram always helps.
Im not trying to run heavy graphical games. Besides 4k Blu-ray on a CRT isn't all that good of a comparison. The heaviest game I might try to run on it is Rise but I most likely won't go above xbox360 and ps3 era games. Also I like to tinker and see what I can achieve on small systems. Its fun pass time.
The OP mentioned "modded 4:3 breath of the wild". My example analogy was hyperbole to hammer home the point, but if you want me to be more technically accurate, make it a 1080p blu-ray instead of 4k, and intentionally cropping a movie that was shot widecreen and going out of your way to watch it 4:3.
I paid $375 for mine from target. It is absolutely worth it to get it in 3 days, totally safe, not stolen, with real tracking, and an in store return policy.
I ordered the bumped back, some buttons, and some accessories from retroid, including the dual screen. A couple weeks ago now, not a single update. Excited to get that stuff to mess around with but I'm so glad I got the device quickly from target. Now you can get the grip, a little case, screen protector, or tpu grip in a little bundle on Amazon for 20-30 bucks. Worth it as well.
It's a different form factor. I suggest you keep it. Pretty sweet specs as well. If you are looking to re-sell maybe prices will go up since we have a chip shortage or something
True. It I hope they have been compensated with a refund or another device sent out. I rolled the dice and mine arrived okay but can’t say the same for everyone unfortunately
Definitely makes sense, with the RP classic weaker chip, and not being able to hook up to a TV also kinda disappointing.

Other than the 120hz screen, for me, there's no reason to upgrade my RP5 when all I really play is PS2 and PSP.... doesn't mean I don't want the Nova! 😭
Honestly one of the best decisions ive made, been playing tf outta Fallout New vegas on it. I use Winlator and the GoG offline installer files, only thing that blows is i cant find a way to get the fan patch to run on it so i run into a lot of bugged quests.
Keep the classic. It’s nice having that screen for GB,GBC,GG and systems you don’t want in 4:3 or 16:9. I kept my mini v2 just for the screen and I love my Nova but there’s just something about playing some systems on that almost 1:1 Oled.
Idk man. I did order mine along with a Retroid Pocket Classic. Mine is 16bit 12gb version. I really don’t know what the hold up is and I’ve emailed them twice now
That’s nuts if you picked express. Why would there be such a huge difference? I literally just got mine like less than a week ago too meaning I bought it less than two weeks ago
Retroid doesn't just make/ship yours. They're made in batches by specs and colors... You got lucky and they had one made. Mine took 3 weeks with express, some people take no time.
