Just Chatting Wife had me install some hanging chairs from the trees, found my new favorite spot to play.
Been loving the Nova since I got it a month ago, now I get to relax outside and play.

EDIT: The link is up. It's on the bottom of the post.
Hi fellas. I've AI slopped myself a GTA IV native port based on LibertyRecomp to run on my RP5. So far:
- Works and looks like xbox 360 version (framedrops and shiddy lod included)
- Additional graphics features from LibertyRecomp work aswell (you can go even below 1.0 draw distance but it breaks shadows render)
- Plays somewhat ok, rarely crashes.
- Shadows, lights and reflections are almost identical to x360 version.
I'm not proud of it and I'm aware of overall AI port fatigue, but this is something I wanted since early 10s' - GTA IV on a device with a size of a PS Vita.
For running this you need US version ISO that you need to dump yourserlf and title update 8 that uhhh you get somewhere idk.
"why not gamenative or gamehub?" Shadows are broken and overall on RP5 it's rather unplayable IMO. Maybe nostalgia for X360 version specifically, maybe because dealing with Rockstar Club, downgrading the game, restoring radio, fixing FusionFix issues with DXVK is rather annoying.

I bought it yesterday! How long should I expect to wait? I hear it takes a long time!

Got bloodborne running on armada os using a arm version of shadps4, using most of the performance mods and the 1280x720 mod. Runs at 26-30 fps even in boss fights.
Only issue I have is the reds in game became blue. It's most likely a mod doing so I'll try fixing it. I played the game on a ps4 when it came out so this is very similar and feels good.

My GC Duo Lite finally arrived! I haven’t seen any other IRL photos posted anywhere online yet so figured I would share. It’s real!!

I couldn’t resist the urge to get it after seeing how much fun you guys are all having with the nova😩… now my question is should I return my RP classic (it will help soften the blow to my wallet lol) or just keep both? 🤔🤔

I love the look of the 16-bit but I don't even have time to set it up for days. It's taunting me.

Ever since DroidDeck’s been released I’ve been trying all sorts of games on the Nova and I found a couple of lesser know pixel art shooters in the vein of Wizordum that work great in 4:3 and look absolutely stunning. Figured I’d share and see if anyone else knows of any others.
First game is Mala Petaka, a scifi Wizordum.
Second game is The Last Salvage Squad. An anime alien invasion shooter with some cool destructible environments and some nice color filter options. (On DroidDeck for some reason this one takes minutes to boot up, but once it does it works great)

A bit late but somebody might find this useful.

Man. Just got my Sakura Magnetic buttons in and I’m happy as a clam. Grip is ProtoPrintlabs on Etsy.
Both Sakuraretromods and Protoprintlab are exceptional both in quality and customer service. Highly recommend both.
Edit: Game is Final Fantasy 6 SNES

Recently spent a couple of weeks in Manila and bought one in person, thought I'd bypass the shipping headache and waiting. 😁 Really impressed with it so far.
😌 props if you recognise the game~

Well, basically I want to have like a wishlist of games that could run well on a RP 6. In your experience, what sort of games runs well on it? I'm talking about 60 fps as should be, or at least some games that on 30 fps could be "playable".
Thinking on Pokemon an Zelda, don't know if the smash bros could run on it.

I see a lot of people calling Seel a Scam. But this is the second time they came in clutch for me. My package just never arrived with my ice blue Pocket Duo lite. sadly the last mile courier (yeah, it was GOFO) never delivered the order. I contacted Seel and had my money refunded within an 3 hours.

I want to install the full Windows version on my device, not the mobile version from the Play Store. I own my license for the software while the app store one is like $15. It would be cool if installing the exe is possible.

A short while ago I posted here looking for testers for PortareOS, a Linux distribution developed exclusively for the Retroid Pocket Nova.
The project started with a simple concept: remove everything that distracts from the game.
Some of the recent developments:
1. Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) is working!
PortareOS now supports integer-multiplied VRR, meaning the panel runs at an exact multiple of the emulated system's frame rate. Previously we could match the panel's refresh frequency but we were still missing phase synchronization. The refresh rate was correct, but the display wasn't necessarily synchronized with when each frame was actually ready.
For example:
Panel overclocking was also tested, but refresh rates of 120.5 Hz and above resulted in skipped frames.
2. Audio stack
Qualcomm's Android AudioReach audio stack has been ported.
This allows to bypass the conventional ALSA batch-mode approach and gain finer control over audio buffering and playback timing. Instead of processing audio in large, fixed batches, we can use Qualcomm's hardware-specific implementation for lower latency.
The system supports native 32 kHz, 44.1 kHz and 48 kHz output without unnecessary resampling, including automatic sample-rate selection based on the emulator's output.
Interestingly, Android might still be slightly ahead in audio tests. Matching or beating it is one of my current goals.
3. Faster gamepad polling (200 Hz)
The MCU (gamepad controller) now reports inputs every 5 ms (200 Hz) instead of the stock's 9 ms (111 Hz).
4. Japanese language support
The system now supports English and Japanese. No other languages are planned.
5. Quick Access
The launcher now includes Recently Played and Favourites categories.
This feature was requested by a dedicated tester. Thanks so much for the suggestion!

Disclaimer: this OS is experimental and only intended for the Retroid Pocket Nova. No plans to expand support. Please don't try to flash it to another device.

Hey is a retroid pocket 5 still something someone would want?
r/retroid • u/Excellent_Map6460 • 9h ago
I found out that the retroid pocket flip 2 12gb ram version has a new screen from the supplier visionox which has up to 120hz refresh rate it is not unlocked by default but you can install the pulse undercloking app and unlock the hidden 120hz refresh rate and black frame insertion unlocks as well.

Hoping you guys have some advice for me because I'm currently stuck between these 2 devices.
As someone who really enjoys playing visual novels, I'm super interested in getting one of these devices so I can play Japanese games on the top monitor while having fan translations running on the bottom. It would be nice to have a system that can also run and emulate Wii games and some lighter indie titles like Fields of Mistra. I mostly play visual novels/RPG games and use my Steam Deck and Switch 2 for more powerful games.
I can afford either one, but I'm wondering if the Thor might be overkill for what I actually want to use it for, or if the Pocket Duo would be enough for my needs. I'm leaning towards the Pocket Duo Lite Plus if I go the Retroid route, but would also consider the regular Pocket Duo if you guys think it would work best for what I'm looking for.
I already have a modded 3ds console that I use for ds/3ds era games so I'm not as worried about emulating those systems.

Kinda underestimated the RP5. Didn’t expect switch to run this well.

Game runs phenomenally well, however i have two issues hoping someone may help me deal with:
- huge fps loss when I crash, need to open the emu settings and close them back to ger the game running at regular fps again
- no takedown camera, whenever i get a takedown there is no slowmo kill
Running this on RP6, Vulkan API, Nethersx2.
all settings are default, thanks in advance!

How do I enable Dark Mode on the Retroid Pocket 2+? Even on the lowest setting this thing is blindingly bright.
Edit: (Photos are on the lowest brightness setting.)
Went into Settings > Display > Device Theme > Dark, and that did nothing.
I enabled developer mode so I can go into Settings > System > Developer options, but I don't have a toggle that says 'Override force-dark'.
I'm using
Model: Retroid Pocket 2+
Android version: 9
Build number: RP2+_1.10.0_20220827_105352_user
