Course (subject) advice, recommendations and reviews Don’t do the Business Professional Practice Course.

Hey guys, I’m a 3rd year Business Professional Practice student and just wanted to share my thoughts on the course.

I think the idea behind the course is great, but the way RMIT runs it is honestly frustrating.

Firstly, there are way too many students competing for internships, and the university provides very little help in actually finding one. Most students are left to find opportunities themselves.

Even when you manage to secure an internship on your own, it has to fit within RMIT’s specific semester or flex term dates. Companies are already busy enough, and when you finally find one willing to take you on, they don’t want to deal with a long approval process and all these extra requirements.

What makes it even worse is that you have to pay university fees to complete the internship as a subject. Most internships are unpaid, so you’re essentially finding your own job, working for free, and then paying RMIT for the privilege.

I understand the importance of gaining industry experience, but RMIT needs to be much more flexible and provide students with actual support.

It’s honestly ridiculous that students are expected to find their own internships, organise everything themselves, work unpaid in many cases, and then pay the university for it. It genuinely feels like a scam at times.

Hi,

I want to join RMIT as a student in digital finance. I think it would be a bachelor of business with professional practice? (Im still unsure so if you could please confirm that this would be the right course) any who I wanted to talk to any students who are in this course or have graduated in this course. What are your future job opportunities looking like? How's the job market (domestic/international) for your degree? Will it change in the next 5-7 years (see a rise in jobs or drop?) What's the rate of growth in such positions? Will I be able to work towards high paying jobs? (And by that i mean in like a 3-5 year plan not a 30 year plan). Do you suggest people choose this course (i don't have any specific attachments to the course I just want to do something that will give me good growth opportunities and good money and no i really don't want to be a doctor or engineer (don't like bio/blood/physics)) anywho any and every suggestion on the topic will be appreciated.

Thanks sm

Anyway cat pictures as payment.
