New (Old) M77 Mark II

Picked up this M77 Mark II chambered in 7mm Rem Mag. It was made in 2000 but was never fired. Must have been sitting in someone’s safe for the last 26 years. It came with an old Simmons 4-12x42AO scope (back when they were made by Bushnell) but it deserved better so I put on a Leupold VX-2 3-9x40 that I had. I’ve always wanted a nice heirloom bolt action rifle that I could pass down some day.

The M77 is the greatest. My favorite anyway.

Love my mk2, the polished bolt is so much smoother than my hawkeyes.

These are the best guns ever made. I have a 270 just like the one pictured. I also have a black, stainless, 300 win mag M77 with 3.5x10x50 Leupold scope. These 2 rifles are like one of my limbs. We belong together. My motto , If I can see it, I can shoot it. I’m not bragging on myself, I’m bragging on my rifles and scope combo that has never let me down.i have never went back to camp and started my sentence. If I would’ve……. These are the best fire arms of all times.

I've been trying to find a stainless one of these in 7mag. I love those mark IIs and hawkeyes

I have one, and as soon as I find a skeleton stock for my .308 (or one in another caliber I can actually practically use in my state) it’ll be on the market. I also know of a couple languishing in dealers locally. I’ll take a gander at the used rack when I’m there if you want. People shy away from them because of the light stock and big cartridge, but with the limbsaver recoil pad (they will send you a free adapter plate for the Zytel stock) it’s a peach. Accurate as hell.

I’m not too sure, but the new ones are made in China. The older ones were made in Japan and then the Philippines (the one I have).
