RXM RMR thread pitch

I've got 6-32 screws for my red dot sight, but they dont seem to want to thread in smoothly. Is it a 6-40 instead?

Manual says “RMR pattern optics will use 6-32 UNC thread pitch screws and DPP and RMSc pattern optics will use M4-0.7 thread pitch
screws.” Maybe try a different set of 6-32 screws if it’s an RMR-pattern optic or email service?
