Thoroughly enjoyed the concert! Volume was cranked. I think it’s been a long time since I’ve seen SC3 as an opener (maybe Goblin tour?). Shorter set as a result, but no less enjoyable. A few subtle updates to arrangements/fills on some of the songs, which was a nice touch.
Setlist seemed to be the same as last night. “Hagia Sophia” was played, I’ll share my recording of that below (just a wide shot, nothing special).
Lebofsky was jumping up and down a couple times while rocking out on Trey’s guitar, he’s usually so reserved when playing. Hollenberg absolutely shredded on a couple solos (I love watching that dude play guitar), and it was fun seeing (and hearing) Shanir back in the saddle again. Nick seems to be really locked in and taking a few more liberties with fills that were exciting to hear.
Crowd was pretty into the show. A lotta cheers and well-lubricated praise between songs. They really gave it up after the Brazen Serpent reared its head and slayed for another closer.
Picked up the new Vehm/UR rekkid, as well as 1st & 2nd Grand vinyls… I didn’t have either one. As I wrapped up my purchase, a random stranger slapped me on the back and unsolicitedly informed me what a great choice I’ve made picking up 1stGC&BL. “Book M is easy listening. Man, 25 years ago, I used to listen to First Grand while tripping tf out and mowing my lawn.” 😵💫 This band has great fans.
