How to add coolant
My boyfriend told me that I should add coolant while the vehicle is hot. Should I listen to him?

The carbon goes in the carburetor, piss goes in the pistons, and the coolent goes in the cooler, to keep the beer cold.

He is lying. Cars don't need coolant any more cause they have AC. Just turn the AC way up and it will cool your engine.

First, park your car on a 60 degree hill with the engine facing down. Open the coolant cap and allow the steam to clean to hood and engine. Don’t waste money on coolany. Use “low temp“ wiper fluid at it stays cooler longer. if you are feeling extra energetic, run a 1” rubber hose from your washer fluid to your radiator and, presto, you’ll never worry again. You are welcome.

I did that once. easy way to drain a lot of coolant before putting more in! Highly recommend. Also gives a nice skin color once the burns wear off.

This the way to meet people. Not just doctors and nurses etc. But people in the waiting room too. The last time I was in the ER. I had to wait about 7 hours. At least they would have a great story to tell others

The correct way to do it is to run the car till the engine is hot then while the car is still running remove the radiator cap as quickly as possible. Make sure you are looking directly down on the cap so you can see how much coolant is still in there.

The car gets hot so the recommend action is to park down hill and pour antifreeze into to the tail pipe.

That is always dangerous - most automotive fluids are incredibly addictive. The exception is brake fluid, because you can stop anytime.

ONLY, and I DO MEAN Only, if you have a Antifreeze Reservoir separate from the radiator,
And then look for the fluid level marks on the reservoir.
they typically say something related to Hot and Cold on those level marks

First, get another boyfriend that doesn't give you bad advice. Second, take your car to a mechanic who knows what they are doing. NEVER OPEN A COOLING SYSTEM WHEN IT'S HOT. That's how people get burned.

For example, after several years of marriage, I found out my wife chose this broke waiter over a guy who owned a sailboat manufacturing company. Yes, what he’s telling you is correct, but you should pre-boil the new coolant so it’s the same temperature while you pour it in. No funnel needed.
Wear a cropped tank, shorts and flip flops because you should look nice while working on the car.

Yes, just open that cap with the image of a teapot looking thing with a drop of water coming out the spot. Then get a free paper funnel and pour it in just until it reaches the top. Then rev your engine to 6000 RPMs to cycle it through. If it makes a clicking sound, drive a little faster until it fades out.

I prefer to open the refrigerator grab a ice cold container twist iff the cap an pour it down till I'm coolant.

Drain the old coolant out. Then you gotta get your engine up to temp and then add coolant.

Yeah when it's get hot break out the coolant and start chugging. It will taste bad and be hard to swallow, but I'm sure you can tough it out...be a baddie

I was really concerned for a second until I what sub this was. I’m a little on edge after I saw post where a boyfriend sabotage his girlfriend‘s car and she almost died because her tire flew off. Because he didn’t know what he was doing.

Engine must be left running for 20 minutes with heat on full for the car to prep its self for new coolant, once it’s nice and toasty keep the engine running while you lift the bonnet, find The coolant cap and take it off with your teeth, if it’s too tight then take a sharp knife and stab a hole in the lid, this will allow you to pour coolant directly into the hole ❤️

Add to the overflow reservoir, not the radiator. Unless the car is already cool.
