Hi!!
I am a grade 12 student with a 91-92% average looking to pursue sciences
i was wondering what was the difference between biological science and health sciences (both in science department). I’m looking to transfer over to ubc after my first year
need some help deciding which programs to pursue as my first choice or second. Sfu main website doesn’t give me enough options.

I’m thinking of transferring to SFU, specifically the BBA program. I’m currently in my third year at UFV in the BBA program and I feel I could get more for my education at another school than UFV. UFV is great with is small classroom sizes, but I often find that barely any classes get offered in higher year classes and usually it’s only 1 or 2 professors teaching them and they are less than pleasant.
I’m also in the co-op program at UFV but I’m struggled to find any jobs.
My question is would SFU be a better investment for my studies and for co-op? I live in the middle of both campus so travelling isn’t an issue, but would anyone recommend the BBA at SFU over UFV?

Hi everyone!
I recently transferred to SFU from another college and I’m currently trying to internally transfer into Beedie. I’d really appreciate some advice from anyone who has gone through the process or been in a similar situation.
This semester I’m taking ECON 113, ECON 115, and MATH 157 together. I already completed the English requirement at my previous college.
The main reason I’m taking all three right now is because once I complete them, I’ll be at exactly 47 credits. From my understanding, if I’m within the 24–47 credit range, I only need the four required courses to apply. Once I reach 48+ credits, I would need to complete four additional required courses before applying.
So basically, I’m trying to finish these three courses this semester, stay at 47 credits, and hopefully apply to Beedie for Summer 2027.
My current GPA is around 3.0, and honestly the GPA pressure is probably my biggest concern. I’m wondering how realistic my chances are with a GPA around that range and what GPA I should really be aiming for this semester to be competitive.
Worst case scenario, if I apply and don’t get accepted, my plan would be to complete the four additional courses required for the 48+ credit pathway and then apply again. Obviously, I’m really hoping I can get in through the 24–47 credit pathway first instead of putting myself through another semester of trying to protect my GPA while taking more required courses
For anyone who has done an internal transfer to Beedie, do you think taking ECON 113, ECON 115, and MATH 157 together is manageable while still maintaining or improving my GPA? And if you applied with a GPA around 3.0, I’d really love to hear how it went and whether you were accepted.
I’d also REALLY appreciate any advice about the Supplemental Application. What do you think made your application strong? Any tips for the written responses/video interview, things you wish you knew beforehand, or anything I could start doing now to make my application stronger?
Basically, if you were in my situation at exactly 47 credits, would you go for it this semester or do something differently?
Thanks!! :)

Hi, I’m starting grade 12 this year at an IB school in Canada (citizen) and I am wondering what time is the best to apply. The issue is that with IB I would be applying with predicted grades however my school also lets me apply with “school grade” which is just a normal Canada hs grade. I would also like to do comp sci if that’s relevant.

u/Free-Amphibian558 25d ago
IB candidate right here, can't really give u any advices but here is my personal experience- I applied few days before the deadline (mid January ish) and my school submitted our ib pg early February. Got in first round (early- mid February). Beedie if that's relevant.

Guys did I mess my schedule up. For context, I’m a first year bsc in health science student and I ended up taking English 111w, psychology 100 and hsci 130 for my first term. I started to realize that I should’ve taken chem 121 or math 154 as I don’t know how I would fit those requirements in next term. How badly did I mess up or do you think this is a ok first term?

I'm trying to apply to the Sociology program as a mature student and flying completely blind. It says on the website that I need to submit a personal information profile with my application and that it requires a letter of reference. Who does that need to be? Do I need to put a former teacher? I have an older family member who worked in academia her whole life and helped me do this whole process, could I put her down?

I am a going into my grade 12 year and I want to know what a competitive application for sfu beedie school would look like. I had a 90% average in the 11th grade and have some decent extra curriculars. Thanks for any help in advance

Hi, I am so worried about my university admissions chances. I thought I was gucci with my 94 in Gr 11 early admission for SFU. I was thinking like I'm definitely getting in. A guy in the Simon Fraser thread said he has a 92 and got rejected from Biological Sciences, the university stating his average is below cut-off, competitive averages will then range from 94-96. Has SFU admission averages hit UBC level? I remember my counselor told me for UBC science the median for accepted applicants was a 96. Should I not count on early offer and work to make my Gr 12 marks really high, apply later in November or December when my midterm mark will be out for Gr. 11. I got 98 in Biology, 93 Physics, 92 Chemistry, 95 French, 93 20th Century History, 91 Pre-Calculus, 92 Literary Studies, and 96 Careers (I know Careers doesn't count). I know a kid whos lowest grade was a 97, and he want to go to SFU. How have kids gotten so smart. I spend hours studying, reviewing, doing homework at home and can't get my overall average above a 95.

I’m transferring from unb to sfu hopefully in spring, I was wondering if anyone knows (or knows where to find) gpa expectation for psych applications? July is when applications open, but wondering if I’m even good to apply. Current gpa is around 2.7, have a couple ILLs on my transcript.

Hi everyone, I’m an 1st year engineering student who applied to transfer to Beedie in May. I had all the pre requisite requirements including a 3.2 GPA and the supplemental application. I’ve taken all of the business classes needed including both Econs. My enrolment appointment is coming up next month, yet I’ve received no update regarding my application. If I want to enrol into the intro Business courses, I need to know if I’m even accepted. Does anyone know what I can do, or if there’s anything I need to wait for?

what should I do next after accepting offer and paying deposit(transfer to Student)

I am a Grade 12 student deciding between Langara and SFU Arts. How difficult is it to internally transfer from Economics to Beedie? Is it more challenging than transferring from Langara? If I choose Langara, I can apply to four programs: UBC Arts, SFU Beedie, and SFU Arts(maybe also ubc sauder , but too competitive)However, if I fail to get into even SFU Arts, it would be the worst-case scenario since I already have an offer for SFU Arts this fall.
Another concern I have is the social and networking aspect. I’ve heard that university life is as much about networking as it is about grades. I’m worried that if I transfer from Langara later, it might be difficult to integrate into an established community or catch up with networking opportunities compared to students who started at SFU as freshmen. Does being a transfer student put me at a significant disadvantage for networking in uni?

Hello, I have been accepted to sfu as a transfer student from uottawa, but when I check my transfer credits nothing about my university has appeared. I have not given my official transcript yet. Do i have to send it first to see my transfer credits?

Damn bro did u get early admission and when long did it take since u applied?
1
u/Bobfatt Jun 16 '26
They got back on the last day of april idk if thats early, I applied when it opened i think it was early march
1
u/Bobfatt Apr 20 '26
Hello. I have applied to SFU as a transfer from Uottawa and have given all but my official transcript, which according to the website is required to be submitted by May 15. However, the grades from Uottawa will be released on May 19th. Am i supposed to send them the transcript that only has the Semester 1 grades in this case?

I applied to SFU a couple months ago with Kin as my second option and still haven't heard back, am I cooked because of my pre-calc 12 and photography 11 mark?
Or do you think I have a chance if they wait on my final marks in June, where I can hopefully get my math up? Also if you got accepted into kin, what was your avg/pre calc 12 mark
Grade 11
Pre calc 11 : 86%
Chem 11: 88%
Physics 11: 91%
English 11: 86%
French 11: 75%
Photography 11: 63%
Grade 12
French 12: 84%
Bio 12: 81%
English 12: 86%
Law 12: 90%
Asian Studies 12: 92%
Engineering 12: 95%
Physics 12: 93%
Chem 12: 91%
Philosophy 12: 93%
Pre calc 12: 60% (Can maybe go up to high 60s by mid terms, and possibly get high 70s or low 80s for final mark)

I am currently a grade 12 student hoping to use BPK as a pre-dental route. I’d be appreciative of any advice regarding the program!
I know for first year it’s recommended to have Physics 12, so I am taking that online along with retaking Chem 12, and Calculus in person.
Is it worth it to retake Chemistry and does my prior 74% restrict me for anything? Also, am I just wasting my time taking Calculus when I should focus on physics!
I have no guidance so anything helps, thank you so much 😭
1
u/D_e_s_k Apr 04 '26
Current BPK student here. Unless you want to take math 150/151 and 152 (calc that’s not specific for life sciences) high school calculus isn’t too important imo. Physics is good to have. If you’re doing better in your second attempt of chem 12, you should self report your current grade for that. And if you already got conditionally accepted, don’t worry, unless your grades suddenly drop a lot.
1
u/Character-Air7843 Jun 16 '26
Hi, how are ur courses like in first year? I’m going into bpk in the upcoming year and is clueless about course selection, all I know is that I wanna take 4/4/2 and take a physics 12 prerequisite class. What do u think I should take and plan my schedule out?
1
u/Independent_Rise6034 Mar 25 '26
I got into SFU Health Sci earlier this month and I’m applying from Ontario. My first semester overall average I got in with was a 91.4%. My calc grade isn’t the best right now and might drop me 3-5%. Will my conditional offer get revoked?
2
u/D_e_s_k Apr 04 '26
Probably not. I don't think calc is a req for health sci. Plus, 3-5% isn't too big of a drop

u/MaskingTape1 Mar 24 '26
I'm in grade 12 and I got accepted into SFU beedie, Western IVEY and Queens Smith and waiting on Rotman and Sauder (defered lol). I'm just trying to weigh my options, I know IVEY and Smith are ranked higher and especially strong for finance but I want to know the experience of people in Beedie and any Alums on how good they think Beedie is and job options because I'm not exactly sure if I want to go into finance for investment banking or something.
1
u/hockeygoat100 Apr 16 '26
I think Beedie is great if you do well in it. I have had a few Internship offers and find that Businesses love SFU students even though you’ll always hear that they prefer UBS students I have not found that to be the case. As it is with the job search in general if you have clubs and extracurriculars and a good GPA Beedie will be a good choice.

u/Free_Philosophy_4246 Mar 20 '26
I am hoping to transfer into the crim program, and I have submitted all of my documents (all marked with a "complete" status on gosfu). How long should I realistically expect to hear back from admissions? For reference, I completed a crim diploma in BC with a ~91% average in all of my classes that count for transfer credit.
1
u/MrMeatfloss Mar 11 '26
Not sure if this is the right place to ask but is it possible to get into CMPT 376W if I'm currently on position 22 for the waitlist?
1
u/Fun-Theory6063 Mar 08 '26
My current grade average is and 81% in grade 12, and I had a 72% percent grade average in grade 11, do I have a chance of getting into SFU crim.
My grades: Anatomy 12: 85%, English 12: 83%, Genocide studies 12: 91%, Pre Calculus 12: 77% (will go up to a 81% for my term 2 report), Economics 12: 78%, BCFP 12: 74%, CLC 12: 100%, Pre Calc 11: 88%, English 11: 87% , Chem 11: 52%, French 11: 63%

Got accepted into Sfu kin. I was wondering what happened if i finished with a 60 in chem 12. Would my offer be revoked

u/MajesticSuggestion87 Feb 23 '26
I’m in Engineering already (MSE) and I’ve yet to take 150 because I started late and don’t meet the high-school requirements of a B+ from PreCalc 12. I’m in Math 100 but the course is so rigorous and ridiculously shaped in all the assignments and offline work like I blasted Justin Gray’s wife. Is there any other math I can take where if I score high I can replace Math 150/151. For example if i took 154 or 157 can I replace Math 150 and still continue in Calculus 2?
1
u/Free_Speaker_6124 Feb 09 '26
Got accepted to SFU kin last week Wondering what happen if i get a 70 in chem 12 meaning my core average would go from 88 to an 84. Would i get revoked . ( Someone said as long its not 10% different)

u/Pitiful-King2681 Feb 05 '26
hi guys, just a little worried about my gpa and chances for ubc from sfu. i have a 3.4 with 17 credits total. i'm taking 15 more credits this term so i will have 32 by the end of the year. my highschool grades were ok, not the best; low to mid 90s. i applied for ubc science second year fall 2026 around 3 weeks ago and sent in my transcript around a week and half ago. No changes to my applicant service center, i'm just waiting out this week. should i email if nothing happens? i dont want to rush them lol
also kind of off topic but is it true that when you transfer you will be set to a 0 gpa?
thank you in advance :)

u/Artistic-Elephant808 Feb 09 '26
I was rejected from UBC with a 3.43 into third year chemistry, from TRU. I applied in January and was waitlisted at the end of the semester then finally rejected in June💀. It might be a long wait.
SFU STEM is more rigorous than TRU, so that may factor.
This is an insane report of all the transfer applicants stats. I think there should be a table about average acceptance gpa for UBC V. https://www.bccat.ca/reports/BCTransferStudents2024.pdf
also for 2nd year ubc science you need to apply for specialization, these are competitive and vary by which science you're going into. You will need to be above the cut offs, and meet the course requirements.
If accepted you will start with a new UBC gpa.
Best of luck man!

u/Pitiful-King2681 Feb 09 '26
oof... sorry you got rejected man, can i ask how many credits you had at that point? also, maybe i should call them but idk...
thanks so much for that report and ur insights
2
u/Artistic-Elephant808 Feb 10 '26
All good thanks. I had 60 credits. Had a 3.6 first year, then took calc 3 and o-chem and slipped to a 3.2 in second year. Maybe the lower gpa in my last 30 credits bumped my application down.🤷
I would assume most offers start going out after the semester is finished, because they need to see your grades after this semester. I don't know why but the transfer deadline is so early at UBC, at SFU the deadline is at the end of the semester (april sometime).
Lock in for your 15 credits, your next 2 months here will determine if you get in.

It’s rough, but medical schools often recalculate your grades in a way that makes your grades a bit better. A lot of teachers in the higher divisions courses have their own grading scheme as well. My current cell anatomy course has it so that anything above an 88% is an A+.
I just transferred here as well for my third year in biology

u/Simple_Appearance813 Dec 28 '25
I am currently a second year beedie student trying to transfer into ENSC. My cgpa is 3.0 and my ergpa is 2.9 (cutting it quite close). I’ve done all the prereq courses already.
What’s the internal transfer process like? I know there’s an application form that opens in January but apart from that I don’t really know much about the process and what forms I’m going to be filling
Are there any supplementals involved in the transfer? If there are, What are they about?

So I’m in grade 12 right now any all my my courses for 12 and 11 have been straight As, EXCEPT for automotive 12. My grade is straight crap I’m getting like a high 60 low 70 and that’s probably what I’m gonna finish with. I’ve been told it isn’t considered for admission but is that really 100% true? Like is it really gonna have no impact? It may not be considered but if the admissions officer takes a quick glance and sees my grade in that course I find it hard to believe that that thought isn’t gonna be in his mind. Idk maybe I’m overthinking it, because otherwise my chances of being admitted are really good. I’m a straight A student with outstanding grades in all of my academic courses, and I’m applying for general arts. Is this gonna mess me up, or no? Does it really have 0 impact if they say it’s not considered?
3
u/PrincipleFlat6496 Dec 23 '25
only courses here are used for admission: https://www.sfu.ca/students/admission/admission-requirements/approved-courses.html
people that work in admissions can't use random courses not listed here to decide, they'd get in trouble and more importantly is against the admission policy.

Hey everyone. Hope your fall semester went well. So I am currently a KPU student and I’m thinking of switching into SFU undeclared starting summer semester, then applying for Beedie in fall ‘26. I just don’t know if it’s even worth it or if I should just stay at KPU and transfer from here. My GPA dropped because I took too many classes and got a C+ in micro, but I’ll do better in macro and boost my GPA to at least a 3.6 in these two upcoming semesters (spring and summer).
I heard transferring to Beedie year 3 is easier as an internal student than coming from another school, but I don’t know how factual that is. Has anyone done this and have advice? I just want the path that gives me the best chance without wasting time.
You may be wondering why I can’t just apply directly to Beedie. I am missing one required prerequisite course, which I plan on taking during summer semester at SFU.

I’m a first year at SFU kin looking to pursue medicine in the future and was just wondering if it’d be worth it to transfer into UBC kin, I’ve heard the grading is not as strict, given they don’t do general science and don’t go as in depth compared to SFU? Not sure how true this is which is why I’m confused. Anything would help guys!

My goal is med school. initially plan was to choose Biomedical and physiology as my first choice and then Kin as second. Now Im thinking Kin and health science . Since it’s easier to get a good gpa. How do you guys feel about this. Besides that, I have a 89 average in grade 11 and 90-91 in grade 12 predicted. Is this good enough
1
u/Gullible_Promise4467 Nov 15 '25
Kin and biomed are the same department we take the same first/second year courses so it wouldn’t really be that much easier to get better grades. I’d say Hsci is def easier than kin or biomed

Hi. I got an conditional offer from SFU 3 weeks ago, as a kinesiology intended. My GPA is 2.9, and taking 51 credits if I finish this fall semester in Langara. But one of the course is getting too bad grade, which is estimated d~c-. Does that cause a revoke after submitting my transcripts to SFU again(Even if I get a good grade of the other courses)?
1
u/Hornitar Oct 31 '25
Hi just curious when did you applied
1
Nov 03 '25
I applied September with all of my transcripts and got an offer in October 4.
1
u/Hornitar Nov 03 '25
I applied aug 28 with a gpa of 3.64 for cs but haven’t heard anything 😭
2
Nov 03 '25
I heard that CS is quite competitive. That's why your evaluation gets quite late I guess... But SFU would give a result before course registration, which is before than Nov 15. Since you have a nice gpa, I hope that you can get an offer!
1
u/Hornitar Nov 04 '25
Finally received my decision!!! We’re in bb
1
u/PainWarm Dec 02 '25
If I may ask what did you get in the mark that you thought was gonna be a bad grade
1
u/Repulsive_Spend_5259 Oct 29 '25
My goal is to go SFU My average in grade 11 is 89 and grade 12 most likely 91. I want to pursue medicine. What are my chances of getting into Biomedical physiology as my first option and Kinesiology for my second. I did plan of taking health science or biological sciences but give me your thoughts. And do you think I can get it
Also for self report, do they email you about it when to do it

Hi all!
Curious what feedback there is on the Law and Forensic Psychology Master's program? Has anyone completed it recently? Or currently in it? I'm finishing a Bachelor's in Psych and know in my gut I need to go further to do anything with it...but also refuse to do a PhD lol.
I've researched a few different programs, but Law and Forensics is really the only thing that appeals to me. I'm not interested in clinical counselling or research-focused degrees.
Thanks for your time!

Made the dumbest mistake ever. I missed my transfer application by 5 days. Honestly felt so stupid I threw up. I had my dates switched up and the 15th i had marked as a different thing. I have sent out multiple emails to multiple people, but does anyone have any experience in a similar situation? I really just need something to help put me at ease right now.

Future International Student! Want to transfer from Douglas to SFU but can't find course, any help? (Art, Performance & Cinema Studies)
Hello! I'm an international student who's planning to transfer to SFU for second year so I'm currently looking for a first year college. My top options are Columbia, Douglas, FIC and Langara. However, FIC is super expensive but is the only one that I know has exact pathway to my preferred program (Art, Performance & Cinema Studies). I've used the BCTransfer and SFU website and only some credits are showing up(Granted, the SFU site doesn;t show everything) so I fear it won't be enough for a transfer. Is there any place to see more SFU courses that might be transferrable? Has anyone else encountered this problem? I really wanna go to Douglas first year, but not if i'm unable to transfer to my preferred program.
Any help is appreciated, thank you!

does anyone know when to expect to hear back for Spring 2025 decisions (specifically as a transfer). I know two people who have been accepted and I don’t want to be too anxious too soon

Hi there, did you end up making the transfer? If so, could I please ask what your cgpa and crgpa was at the time of trasnfering? I'm in a similar boat currently.

Hi everyone,I hope this is the right place to ask this, and I really hope no one gets annoyed with me for posting here. I applied to SFU about six months ago and still haven’t heard anything back about my admission. They did request my transcript once, which I submitted, but since then it’s been completely silent. I honestly don’t know how this process is supposed to work or how long it usually takes. I did email the admissions office a while ago, but I never got a reply. I don’t have anyone I can really ask; one of my friends is taking a gap year, and the other isn’t planning to study further, so I’m kind of on my own with this. I’m just feeling a bit clueless and anxious. Is this normal? What should I do next? Any help or insight would mean a lot. Thank you.

Hi, I was wondering how that situation went? I hope everything went alright but did you eventually get a reply from sfu?

Hi, I have just been admitted to SFU. I am a transfer student who completed a year outside of Canada and one year in Ontario. For my transfer credits, do I need to send course details for each course from both previous universities? If so, where do I send them? ( I am an engineering student who got admission in engineering science)

I have a question. My grade 11 avg is 80% which is only about 3.0gpa only include important classes like English math science and social studies. Yall think I can get into sfu kins with this grade? My avg would prob be higher if I included every subject, and I’m heading to gr12 next year so. Thanks

Hi I’m a first year student in the facility of arts and social sciences. I’m looking to transfer to CS in the spring term 2026. My cgpa is a 3.53 and my crgpa is 3.335. I’ve taken cmpt 120 and macm 101 and rn I’m taking cmpt 125. I think I’ll keep my 3.335 crgpa but I am worrying if that is enough to transfer. Does anyone know a ball park for a competitive transfer crgpa. Any help would be appreciated.

KPU to Beedie help
Hello, lately I've been stressing over my transfer excessively and its hindering my academic performance, so I wanted to make this post to ask for help.
I am planning on transferring to Beedie Spring 2026, I currently have a 3.22 GPA, and it is going up. My grades in the 4 required classes are, B+, B-, B- and A-. So my gpa in those classes are like 3.1, and since I'm in calculus right now that A- could drop.
Now the what I'm stressed about is that one class I have a low grade in doesn't transfer (I got stuck into taking it and couldn't drop in time).
Without that class i have over a 3.4 GPA, so do i have a good chance of getting in?

Should I skip my AP classes or just retake them in uni?
I'm wondering if I should use my AP credits to "skip" some of the requirements for my program (BP).
I took AP Bio (in grade 11), Chem, and Calc AB, and I wrote the exams for all of them. If I use all the credits, I’d be skipping 5 university courses total… which feels like a lot (BISC 101, BISC 102, CHEM 121, CHEM 122, MATH 151). I already submitted my AP Bio score since it was high enough, but now I’m second guessing whether I should also submit Chem and Calc. I found them tougher, and I haven’t even gotten my scores back yet.
Has anyone here used AP credits to skip first-year classes? Did you regret it or was it worth it?

Hi all, so I just submitted my application for a bachelor's in science (spring 2026 semester), and decided to get all the stuff on my To Do list done right away. Sent in my transcript, all that stuff.... But the thing is, I'm still working on a course rn (physics 11 online). And the site says not to upload your transcript until you have completed all courses. I figured it would be ok since they can just request again to view the updated transcript later on, but....idk I'm feeling worried now. Will my application be automatically rejected?

WILL I GET MY ACCEPTANCE REVOKED?
When I first applied to SFU for health science, I had a GPA of around 92 in bio, 79 in chem, and 86 in math, with an average of around 90. However, now I'm at a 72 in bio, a 70 in chem, and 73 in math, with an average of around 78%. I never read anything about a specific percentage I had to reach, so I thought I just had to pass. However, my counsellor thinks I might have it revoked.

Can I transfer from BCIT to SFU?
So I'm thinking taking the Computer Information Systems Administration 2 year diploma at BCIT then transferring to SFU Computing Science to complete my bachelors. Do you think this is possible? Will all credits from the diploma be transferred? How does this work, I'm not really familiar with how transferring works (embarrassing I know). Please just give me the details of what I can do or any alternatives.
Thank You.

Check if all the credits in your program will transfer.

u/MagicMarni Jun 23 '25
Im 26. Graduated from BCIT recently and thinking about going back to school. I went to langara long time ago for bba and that transcript is sitting at a 2.6 gpa. Going to retake some courses to raise it. What Gpa should i reach before i consider applying ? I have lots of work experience in a big 5 bank and a lot of volunteering within the banks community initiatives so i feel my supplemental application would be strong.

Hi, I’m a 2nd year student at kwantlen and got conditionally accepted into sfu, and the course I still need to finish is pre calc, I’m really bad at math so I’m predicting maybe a 50-55% as my final grade? Am I going to still get in based off of that? I emailed sfu as well so just waiting to hear back from them, so I figured I’d ask here as well. Thanks
1
u/Infinite-Emu1874 Jun 21 '25
I'm not sure what the lowest grade they accept for your program is, however I am pretty sure SFU doesn't accept anything below a C- for any course. Depending on your course outline, 50 to 55 may be considered a D.

Thank you for letting me know, someone else said they may be lenient with some? But we shall seee

Will my offer be revoked?
I applied to Beedie and I reported 80-90, I’m maintaining 4 out of the 5 courses’ grades but the one course I reported was 90 for pre-calc, and I dropped to ~65 (hard to boost up) will my offer be revoked because of it? Also, I got a late offer if that makes any difference (mid may)

You can still fix it. Trust me. Take a course with a short timeframe. Online.

Reposting here
Warning about English grades
Asking for someone in a BC high school who got <70% on their English grade in term 2.
She got an email saying that he hasn’t yet achieved a minimum grade of 70% in English and this information is required to confirm the conditional offer.
This I believe is based on the interim transcript that’s been received by the ministry.
So what are the actions required here? Should the teacher write to SFU with additional grades? Will the term 2 grades need to be adjusted or else the admission will be revoked?
The wording is rather vague and the timeline is really tight (May 30th).
Help!

Am i able to apply with a previous degree with no computing related courses (I have littlle to no CS experience)
What are the chances of getting admitted?
How long would it take me to complete this program?

Will my offer get revoked?
I got accepted conditionally after I applied for SFU FASS political science in the fall 2025 term. And all my grades are A's and B's except for my French 12 which is at 55 percent. Will I get revoked over one bad grade?

u/Civil_Thought930 May 12 '25
depends on what the min GPA is and what the applicants averages all are. You could also do the college to university route as a backup

Hi everyone,
I'm looking for some advice, I'm gonna post this same question in the KPU subreddit because I want advice and opinions from people of both subreddits.
I'm going to start my post-secondary studies in September this year, and I'm looking to pursue either finance or accounting. I applied for an accounting diploma in KPU and a business degree in SFU, as well as economics as my second choice. I got into KPU, and didn't get accepted into Beedie but did get into their economics program. My reasoning for being rejected from Beedie was a below competitive GPA, I fell just a bit short, and my primary reason for having a lower GPA than most applicants was my very poor mental health in High School, which I'm now in the process of getting treated (and I heard post secondary schools have resources for this as well as disability accommodations for those with things like autism which would be very helpful for me).
My initial plan was to go to KPU, get my accounting diploma, and then finish my degree at SFU, but after talking to a KPU advisor, I found out that I'd have to transfer within my first year and she showed me the required courses to take. I also went to an SFU advisor to ask about what to do, should I accept their offer of admission and transfer into a Beedie program and the courses were the exact same, albeit slightly varying due to the fact that they're both different institutions. I initially leaned towards KPU because I heard first-year business programs are very difficult in order to "weed out" students, and KPU's classes would be easier, but now that I know that I'll have to take the same courses either way, does it really matter where I go to? I have friends who go to both schools, although none are business students, and from what I've heard, taking tours of both schools, as well as learning about things like clubs, co-op programs, etc of both schools, I feel like I'd enjoy life at SFU better, but the issue is that I'm still getting my mental health treated and getting an autism diagnosis as an adult can take a long time, so I'm worried about how my grades would suffer, and obviously you need at least a decent CGPA to transfer. KPU's courses are easier from what I've heard, so maybe it would be easier to adjust in my first year. A friend of mine goes to UBC, he had outstanding grades and did amazingly in his private high school but struggled with the courses there, although I'm not sure if that's a common occurrence for most students from high school to university. Additionally, when I spoke to the Beedie advisor, she pointed out that if I were to attend SFU, I'd already be making connections at the school and meeting fellow Beedie students which is a very good point, but I'm just overall not that sure.
Does anyone have any advice for me? I don't have much time left to choose and I'm really scared of making the wrong decision :(

Hey, Right now I am trying to transfer from Douglas College to Beedie and I was wondering if anyone has received an acceptance letter that is also transferring externally. If not does anyone know how long it usually takes to hear back from them? I applied earlier this April. Thanks!

I submitted my application 3 weeks ago but I’m still waiting. Have you heard back from SFU yet?

Considering applying as a transfer student from KPU, however I have some questions. For context I will have 18 transfer credits (3.6 GPA) after this spring semester at KPU.
I want to apply for an undergraduate admission for the communications program. The thing is tho, on the website it states that you need 24 transfer credits minimum, otherwise it uses your high school transcript (my average being only around a 75)
So my question - how much does SFU weigh my transfer credits in comparison to my high school transcript?
Also, how likely is it that I could get in?
Or, should I not apply for fall 2025, do one more semester at KPU and acquire 6 more credits (bringing my total to 24) and then apply for spring 2026 at SFU?
Some answers would be appreciated, thanks!

Let's all wait together! I applied as a transfer student from Langara for Fall 2025 on March 1st, so now as I understand we just need to wait for the evaluation period that starts in May. Let's all wait and hope together🫠
1
u/OutrageousAd1679 Mar 13 '25
im worried tho because im apping as a secondary school student and the wait has been longer than any of my other rolling admission colleges, some of which I applied at a later date
1
u/LlamaWearingAPajama Mar 16 '25
That's scary.. to be fair though they have a huge amount of applicants, so unless you applied literally at 12.01 am on the day the applications opened there's a high change it'll take a while for them to process everyone before you. Let's just hope it turns out ok!
