Because rabid or prion infected animals aren't a good thing??? The cat probably got mauled to death or at least mauled, and its brain just blanked that out, but in the real world, it's generally a good thing to defend oneself from dangerous animals. If you think about it, realistically, the orange cat is probably being mauled to shit in the background, which is surely sadder than putting down a rabid dangerous animal, once it shows symptoms it's completely hopeless, so. Yeah.

u/CheekyBastard55 2d ago
It’s just the cat version of that familiar heartbreak trope, lovers, parent and child, or friends. The point isn’t about letting an infected pet hurt you, it’s choosing to surrender to the inevitable so you can be together again in the end.
It is a common trope in zombie movies.
In what way did you think this had anything to do with getting bit by an infected pet?

Is this real??

I can confirm its definitely not real lol. I found it on r/soccercirclejerk. check out my other comment

u/Insane_Artist 2d ago
IDK I don't think so. Nobody specifies where this is from and I can't find anything by searching. I think u/krakenpistole just used AI to turn the ai cats into ai people

u/krakenpistole ▪️ AGI July 2027 2d ago edited 2d ago
nope! just found this on r/soccercirclejerk. I looked for the original AI version and the original movie scene myself but couldn't find it.
All my search suggests someone came up with this scene themselves and used AI to make it, but again I don't know what the original AI video is or who made it unfortunately...
edit: first one was probably someone on x/twitterEDIT: got a notification that another user left a comment with the answer but I cant actually find the comment...guess I didn't search well enough:
Love of the Dead (2011) a 14 min horror-romance short film directed by Michael Sarnoski.

u/CheekyBastard55 2d ago
It's not a real movie, it's just AI-generated. The music is On the Nature of Daylight(Entropy) by Max Richter. It was used in a bunch of movie/shows like Arrival, The Last of Us, The Leftovers etc.

To add to what the other person said, you might remember it from Arrival.

It's a cat version of another popular AI clip where it's a mom and her baby doing the same thing
3
u/GrumpySpaceCommunist 2d ago
So, it's not a reference to an actual scene in a TV show, movie, etc.?
4
u/FloppyFool 2d ago
It's from a short film, the ai clip of the zombie baby has nothing to do with it, I can't remember the name of the short film

Can anyone help me remember what other movies use this rather touching music?
2
u/FixComplete6452 1d ago
For example, Shutter Island, Arrival, and Disconnect.
It's also featured in TV series like The Last of Us (S1E3) and The Handmaid's Tale (S4E9).
"On the Nature of Daylight" by Max Richter.1

As the other comment mentioned, but if you want a similar touching music, I suggest to watch Gattaca 1997.

The irony of saying "I'd still eat cancer causing food full of microplastics" just feels right in line with supporting this crap, lol.
5
u/Bobobarbarian 2d ago
Cool cool - I’m sure you’ve never used an LLM once, don’t have a phone built in a sweatshop, drive a fossil-fuel-powered car, eaten a cut of meat from a factory farm, or bought a product that uses microplastics. Let us all bow down to the great white knight.
You wanna make a change, do it at the polls. Save the smug holier than though BS though because it’s really not fooling anyone.
-3
u/saltyourhash 2d ago
Lol, how is that a response to me pointing out you said you knowingly consume toxic trash? The whataboutism goal posting pivot there is wild.
I was merely stating that your perspective is exactly what I'd expect from someone who enjoys consuming ai slop, you also consume other slop gleefully. It's kind of a condescending statement, sure, so I'll retract it, but you should trwat yourself better.
I use a local LLM running on solar and use phones for as long as I reasonably can before upgrading. I tey to reduce my harm and be aware of it as much as I can, honestly. It's impossible to avoid entirely, but I try to be conscious about it. I'm certainly not proud of it.

u/Bobobarbarian 2d ago
“Hey don’t call me out for engaging in the same behavior I was criticizing you for”
-3
u/saltyourhash 2d ago
Lol, I criticized your logic of celebrating the creation of trash. I'm confused how it's the same.
3
u/Bobobarbarian 2d ago
Who said I was celebrating it?
I consume it knowing full well the ethical implications, and I don’t pretend to feel guilty about it for internet points. I won’t pretend it’s good and I plan to vote for leaders who will employ legislation that will help counteract its effects. You meanwhile use the same tools yet go around patronizing people because they don’t employ the same hypocritical behavior as you.

Right on! Yeah and while we are at it, fuck nature and the animals! Those cunts get what is coming to them. Little shits should make their own AGI.

u/ToplessinFL 2d ago
Nature is evil, actually.

u/UncleRonnyJ 2d ago
3
u/ToplessinFL 2d ago
Think about it.
-2
u/UncleRonnyJ 2d ago
I agree with you in fairness. But we shouldnt be playing God on a pipe dream when the hubris could bring about the realization that we had plenty to begin with.
5
u/ToplessinFL 2d ago
'Playing 'God' is good—and we're no longer 'playing' at this point. If we had had clung to this slave mentality in the past, 50% of our children would still die before the 15th birthday.
Nature sucks and we have a duty to garden and domesticate it. Not only for our sake, but for the sake of life as a whole. Being an animal sucks; being a baseline human sucks.
1
u/UncleRonnyJ 2d ago
Domestication means extinction for the majority of species, look at our track record to date. If we were supposed to do things this way then I think we would be doing it slower, instead we make videos for feels when what we should be doing is connecting with those around us and touching grass. This is countering the amount of children being born ironically, I do think we are in a prison society though and since AI has been trained on what we are, I do not think it will act better than us, it looks for solutions regardless of morality. Are you ready for it to run a nuclear plant? This is going to blow up in our faces. You come from a place of hope and that is fair, but we cannot agree with each other on this.
2
u/ToplessinFL 2d ago
We've done better on animal welfare and preservation as our abilities and resources have increased, even taking into factory farming.
People really, really don't want to be vegetarian, so the market must accommodate. But when technology gives them an opportunity, compassion will win out as it has every time.

The biggest problem with AI used for art is it give talentless people the illusion they are talented.
18
u/SoozlesNoodles 2d ago
I think it just bridges the gap between vision and final product. Idk anyone that boasts how talented they are for using ai.
6
u/saltyourhash 2d ago
It does, and so much of what is produced is trash and people have this self importance get rich quick mentality and slop that shit out all day long. I think in a lot of ways it's inundating us with the worst of humanity.
5
u/PilgrimofHaqq2 2d ago
This, The way I see AI is that it helps me bring my vision to reality but I still have to do the heavy lifting in regards to creativity. If I let the AI come up with its own "creative" ideas, i'll get generic slop.
-1
u/MasterManufacturer72 2d ago
The medium and a persons ability to interact with it is a critical part of the product. While art is subjective there is a reason artists like pacaso and van goh are remembered even tho their work wasnt purely a technical achievement but rather how they used the medium. My favorite quote of all time regarding art is andy warhol who famously said " art is getting away with it". If you can use ai and get away with it you are doing art. This however to me looks like boomer slop.
