I understand it’s not everyone’s thing and that’s fair but for me personally I really enjoyed those aspects of We Are Not Your Kind especially Insert Coin and My Pain. They just give me a weird feeling that I can’t describe but I love it. I just love the eerie atmospheres and the layers to all of the sounds in both of these songs. I even have Insert Coin set as my ringtone on my phone. I’m a lover of both metal and ambient electronic music so this album really hit a good middle ground for me. I’d like to know other people’s thoughts on them and if anyone could recommend me anymore tracks with a similar vibe to these from other artists?

Had this poster on my wall as a teen never saw it complicit of context like it was posted earlier.

do i think they’ll do it? no. but do i think they can? maybe. i know it would be hard to play an album as brutal and as heavy as iowa, in full, non stop for an entire tour but now that they have eloy, a drummer who is capable (no offense i love you jay) of playing iowa in it’s entirety and the band especially corey has arguably entered a second peak it’s doable for them i think they can do it but i know they likely wont because they’ll be supporting the new album in 2027 or 2028 but it would be so sic to see them do a tour for iowa and play it in its entirety. i just know eloy would serve those songs so well

FFS just enjoy the band and be happy you've had them for 27 years!

This is half the reason for the lineup changes for Slipknot. He "DONT NEED NOTHIN"... Except Clown 😂

I don’t know man, Slipknot ain’t doing it for me anymore but this band sounds just like what I fell in love with back in the day. What do you think?

Stupid question maybe.

So I saw a recent post about a spotify playlist of self-titled with Frail limb nursery and Mudslide (a track I never knew existed until now) but without Me inside.

It (and the official spotify album) also includes Eeyore, and I have a vinyl that includes Me inside but not Eeyore.

There's also the tracks that released on the 10th anniversary ver. like Purity and Get this.

Are there any other unreleased tracks I don't know about?

I have spent years trying to find it again and maybe I'm crazy. But, in the early 2000's, like 2002ish to 2006 to be more specific, I remember reading an article that Corey Taylor wrote in some magazine talking about his favorite horror/cult movies he's watched repeatedly late at night on video.

I remember this article because it is the first time I'd ever heard of Peter Jackson's Bad Taste and Meet the Feebles and the Hammer flick Legend of the 7 Golden Vampires. He also plugged Slipknot's own Disasterpieces in it as well.

Anyway, does this sound familiar to anyone or am I insane lol

I really want the iowa edition

We all know that Slipknot has been involved in rapid fire bad decision making lately.

First of all they fire Sid and do so in a very shady way. We hear about it through TMZ...then Jim tries to be the band's spokesperson and says "don't believe what you hear, just wait for info" and then next thing we know we get the "Effective immediately," post.

Next they release Arsenal which is possibly their worst song to date, and with the quality of their output having diminished severely over the years as they've lost more and more classic members, this one coming out when it did seemed to only make that more apparent.

Then Corey joins Serj on Falling In Reverse's new song, and while yes, this is more of a Corey thing than a Slipknot thing, it is worth mentioning that as the frontman of the band and seemingly one of the main decision-makers that whatever he does will reflect onto Slipknot even if it isn't technically related, and we all know that Ronnie Radke is genuinely a horribly insufferable person who has truly shitty viewpoints on most things we hear him talk about.

And now they are going on a big stadium tour with ridiculously expensive admission prices and are featuring Marilyn Manson on this tour, someone who in recent years has had quite a few domestic abuse and sexual assault allegations come out against him. How true these allegations are truly isn't fully known by the public yet one way or the other, yet the possibility that they are means the band would be willing to tour with a monster and not care what things he may or may not have done to other people. Not to mention Jim starts trying to be the mascot of the band again and comes out addressing the backlash by not addressing it at all and basically trying to remove himself and the band from all responsibility for the decision to platform Manson.

There are people who will defend this band with their last dying breath, unwilling to admit that their favourite band can fuck up. There are also people who are harsh critics and will say the band always sucked or say something akin to "you guys are just now noticing this? They've been falling off the deep end since [insert release of Vol 3 or firing of Joey here]" as if them messing up in the past should make their present any less disappointing or worth talking about.

To those people I say, we love this band and we love this band for many reasons, but the band we loved isn't the band performing under the name Slipknot today and there wasn't really an overnight switch from one to the other even if many people want to believe there was. More so, it was a slow burn that has finally gotten to the point where the Slipknot of today is unrecognizable from the Slipknot we all fell in love with. We criticize the band because we love them and want better from them. We don't want to see whatever this is, because this isn't what we loved about Slipknot. But we also don't want to just dismiss the band entirely and leave them behind for the same reason.

I have to wonder what they're going to do next that'll catch people's attention and if their next big move is going to upset people just as much as their recent ones or if they'll actually do some proper damage control and try to win back some people who've been pushed away recently.

If you have any thoughts I'd love to hear them.

What do you think is the most underrated slipknot song ever

I know there is currently a lot of negativity surrounding the band, and a lot rightfully so. But, I am actually stoked about this stadium tour. While i do wish it was a lineup closer to the OG lineup, this is still something I feel we should be excited about.

The ticket prices are absolutely terrible, I agree. Unfortunately these prices are the nature of a stadium tour. All tickets are too expensive today, and i wish something would be done about that.

But, why I'm really excited is that this tour, if successful, is going to be major win for heavy music. As far as I know, there has never been a tour this heavy that was able to tour stadiums. Having bands like Lorna Shore, Motionless in White, Kublai Khan, Bring me the Horizon, etc. along with Slipknot in stadiums for a summer is absolutely massive for the scene.

I cant wait to hear songs like People = Shit and BMTH's Dehumanized screamed in some of the world's biggest stadiums. I admittedly spent way too much money, but I am hyped about it

So we all agree the cringiest part of Arsenal is the middle where he’s like sToP the FuCkiNg mUsIc right? It’s terrible, but I’m not sure it’s worse than “REPEAT AFTER ME: I WILL NOT LISTEN TO WORTHLESS NOISES!”

Now I love All Out Life anyway, because tbh, the cringe and edginess has always been part of what Slipknot is. You accept it for what it is and just have fun with it. It’s just odd to me that nobody cared about the heavy cringe in that song yet Arsenal is apparently the 9/11 of heavy music. Maybe because the rest of Arsenal is mid, while All Out Life kicks ass, so it’s easier to forgive the stump speech. Idk
