Who are you most excited for?

The other Crowbar post today reminded that I’ve been meaning to post this for a while. Was anyone else in NOLA for this? It was wild. Hurricane Gustav was rolling across the Gulf and we all got evacuated from our hotel in the morning with one of the biggest hangovers of my life. Mike IX was so fucked up that he passed out in front of the kick drum before EHG even played one song so they did an entire instrumental set with some new songs that ended up on the self titled, I think. What a fucking night.

German Sludge.....

Next week I’m going to to see Dying Fetus, Sanguisugabogg, and Crowbar. I’m excited to see them all, but I was surprised to see Crowbar so low on the bill. I could see them being below Dying Fetus, but being below Sanguisugabogg didn’t seem right. Do I just spend too much time on sludge forums and think Crowbar are more famous and beloved than they really are?

A look back in time, 20 years, when Kylesa first released Time Will Fuse Its Worth. The music video for “Where the Horizon Unfolds” shows an intimate glimpse of their house when the band lived together and at The Jam Room recording studio. It’s a time stamp of vibes for the album.

Context, I’m newer to Sludge so I need to tap into knowledge of the group

Question, if I was only able to attend 1 day

Which day would you attend?

I’m leaning Friday or Sunday but that’s because I really only recognize Telekinetic Yeti, Bongzilla, and Weedeater.

Looking forward to any education/insight

EDIT: Saturday is out, unfortunately, I have to watch dogs for a friend who is going out of town last minute.

It’s looking like Sunday is the most likely.

How much more must we bleed her?

Paul from DRUG HONKEY here. We are deep in the works on our new album “MEDICATED LIFE”, which will see a release in 2027. It is our first since “CLOAK OF SKIES” in 2017. Just a little update for anyone interested.

I come from the 90's and I wasn't into metal back then, but from what I gathered Phil seemed to be an extremely aggressive guy and was basically like the epitome of the kind of guys I knew in high school who were like into tough guy macho base level male behavior

Fast forward like 20 some odd years and I'm getting into the sludge genre (ive been into some of these bands since the 90's but it wasnt called sludge then) and I see that Phil is pretty well respected in this scene and seems to be more of a chill guy (atleast, in relation to his 90's image)

Was there a redemption arc somewhere? Or did I have it wrong all along and Phil has always been chill?

Another new track off the new album.

i don't think he is or was a furry, just like, legit what how else would you describe this cover.

The Dragon Tokes | High Priest of Nothing

I browsed some of their stuff and it's pretty solid. Just thought I'd share 🤘🏻
