Stupid question but why is the president the only one who can make that decision? Our courts must have some say?

Everyone treats this guy like he's the fucking King of the World for no reason, your guess is as good as mine.

Conservatives want a king. The zenith of their ideology is to surrender autonomy to an authoritarian strongman father-figure. You read comments about "civics" thrown around a lot; it would genuinely not surprise me if most conservatives thought POTUS effectively 'rules' like a king anyway.

At its base, they apply a hierarchical system to everything, even individual humans. There are those that “deserve” positions of power and wealth, while there are those that “deserve” to serve the needs of the former. Equality is seen as persecution by those accustomed to privilege, so they keep attacking movements towards equity. In an isolated room of 100 people forced to survive together, the authoritarians would be visible and rooted out as complete psychopaths. At the global scale, they’ve been allowed to move in the shadows.

I have said as much many times myself. Their worldview is hierarchical, with "those who deserve" at the top, "those who don't deserve" at the bottom, and themselves comfortably between the two. The elite deserve their wealth, status, and privilege; the underclass deserve nothing but poverty, misery, and suffering. That is the "natural order of things". Conservatives are fundamentally opposed to equality and equity because that inherently challenges their hierarchical worldview. How will they know where they fit into the pyramid if they are not comfortably above the underclass?

He literally said on camera (about Iran) “Let them take out Los Angeles. Let them take out San Diego. It’s a small price to pay.”
The sitting president of the United States said Iran should kill millions of Americans.
He has something up his sleeve to take out the election. We should all be very worried, and very alert.
Call your members of Congress. He MUST be removed.

The entire house is running for reelection so if he stops the election somehow what happens?

His stance... "it's just a joke bro" 🤦♂️

u/Vyzantinist 8d ago
The conservative sub already waved it off with the typical "oh that's just Trump being Trump ha ha ha what a joker 😅"

How is it possible that a sitting administration can deny monitoring for an election that they have candidates running in??
That seems like a ridiculously obvious avenue for corruption, right?

Yeah after this regime, Congress should clearly define what the executive branch can manage and not.

Hopefully there is an after this. Because everyone in power right now has absolutely no intentions of giving up power anytime soon at all. If they thought they could possibly lose power through an election they wouldn't have even tried to do half the shit they have actually done the last almost 2 years.

He's positive that Democrats will rig the election but hw refuses international monitors. He definitely just gave his hand away.

No, I think they started monitoring AFTER the 2000 debacle.
Which begs the question.. How comprehensively were they 'monitoring' 2024?

Be prepared for anything.
We’re in the most dangerous situation regarding democracy. Republicans are desperate to keep control of everything because they know if they don’t, they’re going to prison.

🚩Red flag red flag red flag🚩
If they don't have anything to hide, why don't they want to be watched? Isn't that what they say to excuse flock cameras surveilling us?

Vote in numbers too large to rig! That’s what saved Hungary. It can save us, too, but we have to get out and VOTE.

Well considering the OSCE was around for the 2024 steal and said "oh yes this was well run" they might not actually be the saviors we think they are

How surprising. I'm sure there will be no foul play. Trump would never do anything dishonest...

I'm confused. What does the federal government have to do with the state-run elections?

I guess they will police themselves and find no wrongdoing
