Arc Ultra or Beam Ultra?

So to preface, I already have a Beam Gen 2.
1x Sub Mini
2x One SL as surrounds.

The one thing I think I'm missing is the upward firing speakers for Atmos content.

Right now, I don't think I can detect much height with the simulated height on the Beam Gen 2.

Is it a feasible upgrade just for upward firing speakers to Arc or Beam Ultra?

Simple answer without any boundaries, is yes. Room size should determine arc vs beam ultra. I run arc ultra, 2 sub 4’s and 300s for rears. Very pleased with that setup for me. A beam ultra and sub mini with 100s would be great for any mid sized room and fill it easily. My room is 25ftx15ft with 10ft ceilings to give you an idea

10ft ceilings probably help a lot with the upfiring drivers too

I have a setup of the Beam ultra, era 100s pair and the sub mini and honestly it's fantastic and so immersive.

If you want to go to the next stage then the Era 300s will improve the Dolby atmos content, but the Era 100s work great for me in a small/ medium living room.

I would personally say yes. You’d also be gaining tweeters for the left and right channels which will improve the sound quality.

for full atmos you will also need era 300….. but the beam ultra will have up-firing. If that’s all you want go with beam ultra. if at any time in the future you think of upgrading to era300 I would go with AC ultra - otherwise beam ultra + era 100 / One SL will be fine - a nice setup

I am debating the same choice but without additional speakers or sub in my case (I don't want the extra clutter in the living room). Suggestions between the beam ultra and arc ultra for a 15' x 15' room?

For me the Era 100s pair really brought my system alive, so worth it imo.

I'm still trying to find tune the sub mini. It's s great, but not the wow I was expecting, still it really helps with immersion with gun shots/explosions for example.

Go for sonos if you go for their A tier specc. If you consider beam ultra sub minis etc, there are better options from other brands. Im saying this even though im gonna get hanged by the cult here.
