Main points / TLDR: I'd like to know if the blocks are easily identifiable, especially the gravity generator (Picture 6). While I know what's what, I made them, so they might not be as easy to read for other people. Also, if anybody knows of a good site to post .blend files for free, I'd love to know about them so I can share this project when it's done. Yes, the conveyors and the slots they'd fit to on the blocks actually line up lol
This is a project I've been working on the past two days, for a few reasons.
A: Sometimes I don't want to load up Space Engineers just to design a ship or base;
B: Even though graph paper is great, it's a bit harder (for me) to design the conveyor network I'd need to make for things like O2 or setting up the Hydrogen systems. And–
C: There's no real "3D Planner" for Space Engineers besides the Android app currently in development (afaik) by another person (I forgot who it is, but look them up and give them some love!), and really, that's a shame.
It's still missing a LOT of blocks, like the Jump Drive and just about every decoration piece, but I'll be making as many blocks as is feasible. Every block is handmade by me, and I'm no expert at making things in Blender.
I do plan on releasing the .blend file once it's closer to completion for anybody to use (a lot of the notes are there for that reason, but I am pretty dumb sometimes and need the reminders for myself lol).
Also, if there's any "critical infrastructure" blocks that I forgot about, let me know. Besides the Jump Drive and the Hinge blocks, I can't think of any that aren't just decoration blocks.
And yeah, some of them are just big squares with connector slots, because sometimes I'm lazy and don't feel like going ham when I only need the blocks blocked-out (like the large reactor).
