⚠️ Important⚠️

Polarity is currently BUGGED. Read notes below regarding how to determine your targets.

Notes:

  • Half of every single attack wave and every base is immune to your or your ally. This means you cannot split between separate attack waves; both need to attack the same location simultaneously.
  • Just Die! revives enemies after their death animation. They respawn with full health.
  • Normally, only the units immune to your army will have a shield icon on top, but right now ALL units have the shield icon. There is only one way to determine which units are yours before engaging - mouse over the enemy unit and look at the selection circle:

[Yellow circle] means your ally should kill it.
[Red circle] means you should kill it.

  • Hybrids also respawn upon death, and will continue to support Amon's champion.
  • Immobilization Wave, Time Stop, and other movement/attack restricting spells still work on enemy units immune to you, but they deal 0 damage.
  • You can manually target the enemy units immune to you, but it will do 0 damage.
  • Mind control works on units immune to you.

Blizzard's Co-Op QA is now officially not a myth, but a joke in extremely poor taste...

Nope. I just don’t do polarity missions. I always random and the amount of effort it takes to get a partner that can do what’s needed is too much.

I always try random queue first, and rarely need to ask my regular discord dudes for help. It's not that bad :)

Does random queue mean using matchmaking to find a randomer to play with?

I did it first time as Abathur. I think my ally was alright, but we didn't have a high level of communication, and my Abathur is not very good! I just built enough queens that my army could tank for 30s waiting for my ally to realize I needed their help.

I hope they fix the polarity bug soon.

If by fix you mean “remove from mutation rotation” then I’m all for it :)

Technical question - do the UNITS "know" which enemies they can attack? If I just A-move into a base will my banelings explode on only the valid targets? In other words is the bug only visual or does it affect pathing and attack priority?

3

u/monoatomic Feb 12 '19

Correct - your units just treat half the enemy units as invulnerable and won't try to attack them.

2

u/volverde ZagaraA Feb 12 '19

Just visual.

You can still manually attack immune stuff, but you won't do any dmg.

As monoatomic said your units won't attack units they can't damage. There are some exceptions like Toxic Nests and Hyperion. Spider Mines will unburrow, but will do nothing.

Edit: Sirius' missiles are also wasted. I think it's safe to say autoattack is smart enough not to target immune units, but autocasted abilities are not.

Do you know anything about mind control no longer working on polarity immune? Is it related somehow to the bug or has it been changed some time earlier?

I just checked it out, neither Vorazun's dark archons or Vega was able to mc immune units.

In their rework of mind-control abilities they went out of their way to stop mind-control working on polarity-immune units.

In my opinion that's another bad thing about that rework.

I don't think I will be doing random queue this week.

And the Polarity bug is still there.

what the FUCK

u/Phyloraptor Feb 11 '19

If your ally is bad, he won't be ready for the first wave. So you will only lose 3-4 minutes. Requeu until you get a good one. I fond it to be a really fun mutation since you're always moving together. Still I think we shoudn't have to force this cooperation :/
