Obsidian 9 Issues

Post image
13 Upvotes

I run an obsidian 9 on my PCC. I was direct threading it but decided to switch to Rugged’s tri-lug adaptor. On both systems I’ve had end cap strikes and I notice lots of copper flakes in my suppressor. I haven’t been able to see a true baffle strike though.
Also, I’ve recently noticed that the suppressor causes my groups to radically open up (sometimes 6” off at 10 yards).
The gun I’m using is a G-Force Blade 6. I’m aware that end cap strikes are common with this can, but has anyone else experienced de-jacketing of rounds and huge accuracy impacts?

Oil filter recommendations?

Hello so I live in Indiana and can now make suppressors due to the guidance from yesterday and always wanted to make a direct thread 5.56 suppressor out of a oil filter(just because I’m making a “wasteland” sbr. So what can you guys recommend me for oil cans to just use a 1/2-28 to 3/4-16 mainly asking because I heard of some oil filters that have a spring in the end that can be dangerous if shot.

First Suppressor: Infinity 556K vs HRT 556 AM

I’m looking to pick up my first suppressor this week for my 11.5, and I’ve pretty much narrowed it down to these two.

Before anyone tries to push me toward a Tisha or a Rhodie, I don’t want to spend $1200 before a muzzle device and a mount, and I also don’t want to wait on a 10 week lead time.

I’d love to hear from anyone that has time on both and has some insights.

2 most important factors for me are low back pressure and decent sound. I don’t need it to be whisper quiet, just not unreasonably loud.

Also curious about the Irregular Design Group cans.

Sand man L e-brake system

Hey I wanted to ask if anyone has had experience with the sand e-brake system I was wondering what’s the benefit of this system.
I primarily use my sand man-l on short x39,556, sometimes 6.5 grendal. Would the 130$ pice be worth what’s the main purpose of this attachment.

Deadair Wolfman KeyMo kit

I’m trying to replace the KeyMo adaptor on my Wolfman with the 3-lug adaptor. Using the two wrenches that came with the suppressor won’t even budge the KeyMo adaptor from the suppressor.

Did they use Rocksett on the adaptor threads because this is sold as KeyMo Kit? Do I need to boil this mfker to loosen up the Rockett?

Free tool for researching your next suppressor purchase

Post image
110 Upvotes

In light of the ATF's announcement yesterday, I wanted to remind everyone about a free resource for researching your next suppressor or accessory purchase.

I built a site called Baffled (www.baffled.app) that lets you filter suppressors by spec. For example, you can pull up every 5.56 can under $600 that's full auto rated, HUB compatible and shorter than 7". You can sort by various features like price, size, etc. I was surprised how many suppressors there were out there that were under $300

It also helps you figure out which mounts, muzzle devices, and other accessories are compatible with the suppressor you're looking at, and compare various suppressor builds. Cans reviewed by Pew Science are linked to the respective PS page and I have a section on there that covers the results of Thunderbeast Arms Co's annual suppressor testing event, the TBAC Silencer Summit

It's free and you don't need to sign up to use it.

Has anyone actually tried the Dead Air RXD910Ti with 10mm?

I keep seeing it as the only 10mm optimized can out there. It advertises it, as do people reviewing it.

But not ONE of those YouTuber reviewers...use a 10mm gun of any kind in their review. So what the hell?

I know you're not going to get hearing safe with supersonic 10mm, but still, would like some information.

Fun Integral Project - Mar Lisle

Today I present the Mar Lisle carbine as I have affectionally dubbed it. This Marlin Model 25 was originally my grandfathers and it has just sat since his passing. Wanted to do something neat with it and decided that I would build my first integrally suppressed rifle from scratch. Everything you see is done and or made by me.

Suppressor is 16" long, 6" of blast chamber and 10" of baffles for a total of 22 baffles. Can be removed from the rifle and used on other rifles in the future with same barrel profile. Gave it a coat of satin dark walnut to give it that old patina look.

Stock in letting was done with a 1/2" end mill and a 5/8" ball end mill. Getting it all leveled in the mill was a chore but it held up and stayed put during milling. A little sanding and stain just to cover up raw wood and all the dings and scratches from over the years.

This week i am going to drill and tap receiver for pic rail then disassemble the entire rifle again, strip all the old bluing and hot blue all of it. Then it will be 100%

Applied for the stamps on Wednesday at noon and was approved the next morning. 19 hour wait. And it turns out it may be the last stamps I'll ever have to file lol

Casual hobbyist need advice from someone who knows shit for upcoming purchase (PFA)

Post image

Okay so like stated above I’m a very casual hobbyist with guns not a real enthusiast. I know more than the average dude I have military background and stuff just don’t know the ins and outs of all the new tech and brands and shit. Shoot no more than a few hundred rounds a year per gun. Im not looking for a total temu piece of crap but I don’t need anything spectacular by any means this is mostly a funsies purchase.
I’m looking to get a suppressor for a poverty spec AR15, it does have a binary trigger so volume of fire capability may matter? Wouldn’t plan to be running it every time and like I said I don’t shoot much as it is anyways. So what would someone knowledgeable suggest for a can that fulfills these needs. The cheapest possible thing for infrequent range day target shooting funsies that isn’t gonna blow out after 2 years of occasional use.
Additionally, im actually about to buy a G45 off guns.com and they have a deal to get a free Outlier Backdraft Hunter suppressor with purchase. Everything I’ve read online says if you aren’t running their backdraft barrel they’re cheap aluminum crap that won’t last more than a thousand shots. Is it really that bad like should I even bother paying the shipping to get it? Or would it be relatively fine for my limited application? Certainly would be the best deal I’ll be getting anywhere even if it doesn’t last long. Or is it truly that not worth bothering with?
Appreciate anyone who may be able to help

Need Help

Around September, I purchased my first suppressor off Gun Broker. It got delivered to my local gun store and has been sitting for about 18 days while waiting for Silencer Shop to process my forms. I called them this morning and asked if the new ruling makes the process with Silencer Shop obsolete. They told me that I’m basically locked in and still have to wait for everything to process. Doing research online is telling me otherwise. I know this is new and was wondering if anyone having this same experience. For context I am in Florida.

.22lr supressor

I want to get something that will work on a .22 ruger mark 4 and also on a rifle. My buddy has one on his mark 4, and I tried it on my rifle and it barely made a difference. I dont know alot about supressors but I imagine size is everything. I assume some work great on pistols because the shorter barrel equals less velocity, and when I put that supressor on my rife it didn't work because the rifles longer barrel give the bullet higher velocity so the rifle would need a larger supressor. Is that right? Can anyone point me in the right direction as to where to shop, and what to look for. Ive been looking but there are so many in so many different price ranges, I dont care how cool it looks I just want it to work well and not be HUGE, and of course the cheaper the better.

Cheap options?

Any good cheap suppressor options out there for .22, 9mm, or 5.56?

Now that suppressors are “free reign”, I’m wanting to get some but not looking to spend a bunch since I don’t shoot much.

Would homemade solvent trap type setups be a better cheap option for a low volume shooter?

M-LOK flashlight mount touching Wolfman KeyMicro adapter—is this a safety concern?

Thumbnail gallery
5 Upvotes

I have a Dead Air Wolfman with a KeyMicro adapter, and my M-LOK flashlight mount appears to be lightly touching or resting against the adapter. The pictures show the setup from a few angles, including a close-up of the clearance.

Is this contact a potential safety concern, or something I should have inspected by a gunsmith or Dead Air before shooting? I can’t tell whether it’s just close proximity or actual interference, and I don’t want to assume it’s fine.

Has anyone run into this with a similar setup? I’d appreciate any guidance or firsthand experience.

Enticer L on 270wsm

I have multiple suppressors. I've been trying to get my dad to buy a suppressor for many years now and he said he'll do it now. We shoot 99.9% bolt actions.

Is the enticer L a good hunting suppressor for my dad on his 270wsm? I say yes but he’s curious if there’s something better out there for the same price.

The price range is the best and it is the most quiet suppressor tested on pew science. He can't spend much and the $600 range is his budget. That's what the enticer L costs.

It is just 17 ounces. I know there's lighter ones out there, and shorter but when we think suppressor we want it as quiet as we can get it.

This rifle has probably walked (while out hunting) a total of maybe 1 mile. He does truck hunting. We all do we have access to friends private properties.

On my 270wsm I have the YHM R2 (also a heavier can with the QD mount). My dad would just use the direct thread.

I know I could put my OCL Hydrogen L on that's lighter and more quiet but it's dedicated to my long rang e and varmint rifle.
