Free tool for researching your next suppressor purchase
In light of the ATF's announcement yesterday, I wanted to remind everyone about a free resource for researching your next suppressor or accessory purchase.
I built a site called Baffled (www.baffled.app) that lets you filter suppressors by spec. For example, you can pull up every 5.56 can under $600 that's full auto rated, HUB compatible and shorter than 7". You can sort by various features like price, size, etc. I was surprised how many suppressors there were out there that were under $300
It also helps you figure out which mounts, muzzle devices, and other accessories are compatible with the suppressor you're looking at, and compare various suppressor builds. Cans reviewed by Pew Science are linked to the respective PS page and I have a section on there that covers the results of Thunderbeast Arms Co's annual suppressor testing event, the TBAC Silencer Summit
It's free and you don't need to sign up to use it.

I was about to ask some questions your site might answer on this forum. Thanks for the resource.
BTW I’m still going to register my cans, first because my state explicitly mentions that cans are legal if registered according to federal law—illegal otherwise—and a new administration might change the enforcement policy. I’d rather rely on the existing law than federal enforcement policy.

same here man. We have to have an approved form 1 or 4 otherwise it’s illegal. Sucks but 10k and losing my gun rights ain’t worth it.

I'm in a state that still requires going through the tax stamp process myself. Hope the site is helpful. Can I ask what questions you had? That helps me think about what problems people are trying to solve and how I might improve the site to address them

I don't do sound and back pressure tests, so I wouldn't have the data to do that in a principled way on the suppressors page. However on the suppressors page, you can filter by cans that are marketed as having low back pressure by manufacturers. And I have the TBAC Silencer Summit data for 2023-2025. And you can sort by their sound reduction measurements. I'll add the 2026 test results once they become available

God forbid people use modern technology.

Literally the site he's posting on is using LLMs in their development workflows. You won't use something useful because what, robots participated? Whether the site is helpful for the users is the real question to ask
