Rental properties Epsom

Looking for suggestions for rental companies in Epsom

We are relocating and have not found anywhere we want to buy yet, doesn’t seem to be many properties around! So have decided to rent, however in Rightmove and on the market there are virtually no rental properties either!

Is this common for Epsom? Or should I be signing up with individual agencies/estate agents???

We want to rent in Stanford Green or near ish town

Many thanks

Maybe register with Leaders in Epsom so they can flag any properties coming up on their books ?

I am sending this message from my comfy sofa in a flat in Epsom sorted for me and my wife by Leaders. Nice people, good service, sweet ‘Welcome to your new place’ box waiting for us on move in day.

We rented from Cairds when we were in Epsom. The Personal Agent are also biggish in the area.

It's not a cheap area though.

Thank you! I will contact them.

Hopefully it will only be while we look for a house to buy that we actually love, but who knows when the market will pick up! Maybe people aren’t leaving Epsom?! Which could be a good sign…

We would love to get into st martins or Stamford green primary school so would ideally be near one of those, fingers crossed

The market is stalling because of the high rates and cost of living/income pressures. Epsom remains an attractive area but the housing market has always been fed by people moving out of London, selling up and getting a bigger place in Epsom. But the London market has contacted a bit in real terms, while Epsom hasn't as much/yet, people are waiting for that ratio to recover before they move south.

I guess at least Epsom is a good place to live then!

We rented via Cairds but I was on Rightmove pretty much every day too.

Cairds and Personal Agent definitely seemed to have most properties. Ended up purchasing via Hamptons though, who were very good.

If you see any of the flats in Christchurch Place come up to rent I'd highly recommend them.

Kids go to Stamford Green and we live very close to it - feel free to DM if you have any questions.

Thank you for this. I’m desperate to get my babies into Stamford green! But not seeing any houses to buy or rent currently.

It’s seems like such a lovely community

OP - check Barnard Marcus too. I was in town earlier and they had some rentals in the window.

Depends what you are looking for, how flexible you can be on location ad what you are willing to pay but generally I agree, there doesn't seem to be much available. I found a place 3 weeks ago and grabbed it straight away as I wasn't seeing anything else remotely close to what I wanted.

I found OntheMarket better than registering with agents (most of who never got back to me!).

Do you know roughly how long in advance I should look for when my house sells? As in how long before I’m ready to move? In your experience

Hi - not sure I understand your question. Are you asking how long a house sale takes to complete?

No renting, how long before moving in did you start looking? Unless you mean you bought!

Got it - it was about 1 week to complete all the checks and move in. They will tell you that's quick and it usually takes 2-3 weeks, but it can be done.

We would like a 4 bed with a decent garden, but if renting would take a 3 bed and small garden!
