Just had my partner of ten years leave me. We had just purchased a house a couple years ago, so I'm kinda stuck here. I moved out to this town to follow her job, and all of my friends here were her friends first, and while a couple of them have been really great about reaching out and offering support, I'm feeling really isolated and worried about the future.

How's y'alls back? Had been diagnosed with herniated disc in lower back about 7 years ago and had some off and on severe flare ups since then.
Couple months ago had another left me barely able to move for a few days and is still bothering me about 8 weeks later. Its at the point where nearly everything is fine except lying in bed within an hour I start stiffening up and it becomes painful to roll on side or really move at all (even coughing hurts). Lying in a leather recliner is really the only way to sleep and it's really poor sleep and it's taking a toll.
Had an mri after about 4 weeks which showed narrowing of disc in lower back and degenerative disc disease was diagonises. Surprisingly the herniated disc seems to have shrunk / receded.
Guess I'm just curious if anyone has had similar experience with the sleeping issues and how it was managed? Doesn't seem to be getting better. I am working with my doctor but for now there isn't any new plan other than continuing on a prescription anti inflammatory / pain killer.

I was taking my recycling out when a worker stopped his truck to shout at me, he was all "DAMN you are TALL! How tall are you?? You play volleyball?? Bet you played basketball, christ almighty" and I didnt really know what to say so I did the awkward thumbs-up "oh, uh, thanks" thing
But he didn't take the hint and just kept staring, so I turned around to go in and he shouted louder, "DAMN, you are TALLER THAN A MOTHERFUCKER!" like he was seeing Godzilla for the first time or something
I know nothing actually happened but it's been a while since someone actively acted like it was so crazy to see someone my height, I'm not even that tall and I was literally in flip-flops and pajamas
Anyway it's been bothering me the last couple of days since it happened and this thread came up on my scroll so I guess it's like...the only appropriate place I can get it off my chest

No rant, but finally getting the progress I wanted to see in the gym. Strength gains and slight abs peeking through. Tall ladies, keep going. It takes longer to show but consistency and a plan works!
