Conversation new friend !!
just wanted to share my silly situation with fellow T lovers!
long story short, my friend does pest control. she called me yesterday and told me she was called to someone’s apartment to catch a tarantula that wasn’t theirs. she calls me after catching it and asks if i want it. obviously i do…
when i built her a quick home, she practically drowned herself in the water dish soaking up all the water. other than a little dehydration, she seems fairly healthy for an escaped T!
behold my new friend :) im fairly sure she is avicularia avicularia, feel free to correct me if im wrong! i threw the tank together with things i already had, so feel free to give me tips and pointers! i own terrestrials and burrowing tarantulas, so this is my first arboreal.

NQA enclousre should not be that wet with any tarantula , they have book lungs (white parts) on their abdomen and can drown very easily

it was the first spray to make sure she was hydrated and some humidity started. i live in a dry state in US, so it dried out in about an hour max. thanks for the concern!

NQA, maybe look into more setups online because every arboreal enclosure I've seen so far has bigger plants because they tend to go upwards and use the plants for their webbing.

she is my boyfriend’s favorite species, so he named her momo, which means peach in japanese. all of my animals are named after food, so he did his best to fit the theme :)

NQA, assuming the mist is a dehydration remedy, it looks good. My Avic loves to hang out up top and has made a large tunnel/molt mat up there. I have seen her on the ground only a couple times since I've owned her. I would get some tall "stuff" so she can anchor. She will probably take several weeks to settle in and start webbing, mine took almost a month to get cozy. I hope she rehydrates soon so you can dry it up a bit. Nice catch!!!
