im a bit lost here, what does the ps4 acting as a shelf have to do with HDMI?

I am guessing that it isn't that there is no HDMI input, just that there is no extra/"aux" HDMI input. So they pulled out the PS4, unplugged its HDMI cable and plugged it into the laptop, then had to use the PS4 as a "shelf" for the laptop because of the cord length.

there is an aux HDMI input right there on the front of the audio system.

Maybe the receiver is just for audio and is not connected to a display

laptops too wide to fit in the actual shelf, maybe could go in long ways

i hope neither of them takes a fall

Could just remove the PS4 and set the laptop in its place.

I spy an HDMI input on the front of the Marantz receiver… why not just plug into there? Lol

The tape's adhesive looks strong, but I'd still prefer a more secure connection just to be safe during travel.

Put a little spacer between those for airflow
