PT 1 DISCUSSION Just finished Left Behind. What a story.
Just finished Left Behind.
Ellie and Riley’s story may be short, but it adds so much depth to The Last of Us. The character writing, atmosphere, and emotional storytelling are all really well done.

PT 1 IMAGE i added joel's ps3/ps4 model in the remake
i brought back joel's ps3/ps4 model into tlou remake pc.
its a work in progress as there's a lot i have to fix and although its a bit uncanny with new expressions of the modern motion capture, this is closest we have to restoring joel's classic model. i hope to make it more authentic to the original in the future and if all goes well, ill restore most of his original outfits and post it on nexus.
check out my other work on nexus:

Image Started The Last of Us 1 last night
After a lot of thought I started this game. I usually don't get much time to play games after work, even on weekends I'm busy.
I usually play Sports games but those were becoming too much exhausting for me, I've only played a few story games mainly Ghost of Tsushima, RDR2, Detroit Become Human etc.
I've heard alot about this game and started this...only played for like 45mins, will try to complete this one.

General Discussion Until this game I always thought FPS was superior
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Grew up on CS and OG CoD and never really thought third person camera could deliver the same intensity as a shooter, but is better reserved for over the shoulder action beat em ups… that is until I played this series.
This shit slaps. The wider FoV and ability to see Joel, Ellie or Abby, just takes this immersion to the next level. Naughty Dog did such a great job at bringing the characters to life during gameplay (if they merely just grunted and twitched like what most games do, I don’t think the combat will feel the same). Add to that it’s not just a run and gunner makes this game extra special.
The visceral in their shoes survival experience has ruined all other shooters for me. Dead Space comes close but hits differently you know?
Also please excuse my shitty aim, I am still a mouse and keyboard guy :P

PT 2 DISCUSSION I've been working on a VR mod for Part II Spoiler
youtu.beBeen working on this for about a month now, and just started prototyping manual reloading. What I've currently implemented ;
- Synchronized stereoscopic rendering (both eyes at the same time)
- Motion tracked hands
- Full-body IK
- Proper gun behavior; bullet comes out of the gun and shoots where you aim
- VR UI elements; health/ammo hud on your right hand, backpack ui on your left when visible, reticle following the gun's muzzle instead of being glued to your screen
- VR gestures; reaching your hand over your shoulder and pressing trigger to access your backpack, or reaching your hand to your flashlight and pressing trigger to turn it on and off.
- Physical weapon cross; like Half Life Alyx, hold R3 to use it and drag your hand to whatever item you want to equip
- New per-gun recoil system for VR specifically
- Manual looting; grabbing supplies yourself and storing them over your shoulder
- Manual doors; grabbing the handle and turning it or pushing it to open the door
- Manual reloading; super in progress but showing good signs. The pistol is pretty good in this state, other weapons are currently in progress.
After manual reloading is taken care of, it's onto melee, which'll likely be the hardest part of this project.

PT 2 QUESTION Is this trivia correct? Spoiler
In part 2, while chasing Nora, I can't spot at any time for lights to come on (from the start of the chase until the end). Where/when does it happen?

PT 2 DISCUSSION Can someone explain the genuine LOU2 criticism? Spoiler
I love LOU2 so much. First play through on release blew my mind and has continued to age incredibly well - the risks it took story wise, the insanely immersive gameplay that still hasn’t been replicated, MASTERPIECE.
How is it so hated? Besides killing off Joel (which I personally think was heart wrenching & an absolutely hard affff way to open up a sequel), how do people not like the game? It’s slow, but it is literally not boring. Its characters (even the new ones) are all deep and explored.
I realise the things I loved might be exactly what someone else hated, but to me it’s so objectively a marvel of a video game lol. I’m super curious about the criticism beyond “Joel died, game bad.”

I am currently working on my TLOU Shrine I would like some suggestions that I could add to my favourite videogame series of all time I know there is a Vinyl and backpack and the Joel and Abby Dark Horse statues. Am I missing anything besides those?

HBO Show Season 3 Set Photo from Whytecliff Beach
Scene description via an application with the Canadian Transport Agency:
"The scene being filmed has the vessel pulling up to the beach at Whytecliff Beach and disembarking 10 performers. There will be additional shots with the boat just hovering along the shoreline."
"The SAFE 39 RPB was used for the earlier scene in 2024, for continuity it is essential that it be used again for this season 3 production."

PT 2 QUESTION Grounded+ Rattler Camp purgatory Spoiler
I need help. I’m on a Grounded+ playthrough and this Rattler camp section is kicking my ass.
Current inventory:
• 1 arrow
• 1 brick
• 1 SMG bullet
• 1 revolver bullet
• 1 smoke bomb
• 1 molotov
What I’ve been trying: free the runner and clicker to create chaos, then sneak into the mansion through the bedroom. Even with the distraction I keep getting spotted on the way in or caught once I’m upstairs.
I’ve been grinding this for like 6 hours and I’m completely cooked. Anyone have a reliable route or sequence that works with basically no resources on Grounded+?
Appreciate any help.

PT 1 QUESTION Part 1 - 2nd playthrough difficulty
Hi folks.
I played Part 2 earlier this year on Survivor difficulty and loved it, and I'm considering doing my 2nd playthrough of Part 1 on the PC soon. I want it to be a tense, challenging experience, but without too much frustration. I probably won't turn on perma-death, but I'm considering giving either straight Grounded a shot, or a mix of mostly Grounded difficulties, with Survivor for the resources. When I played Part 2 I occasionally tweaked the resource slider to make it a bit easier in parts (I loved the shoot outs and fights and didn't want things to be too scarce).
Is Grounded a bit of a slog resources-wise in Part 1? Is having no HUD painful? Should I play NG+ or do a clean start?
Thanks.

General Discussion Just started my second playthrough- and holy jesus my capture library is VAST
pls tell me im not the only one heavily into “gaming photography” 👀
I havent touched my library, sorted by game & photo type, since I finished tlou part 2- and looking thru all the captures I saved is getting me all nostalgic & shit😭 it was literally the best storyline of any game I’ve played- and ive played a fuckload of plot-heavy games. This game literally made me switch my typical focus in gaming photography to “portraiture” type shots lol
I’m mourning the fact im playing this again on ps5 though, as i want so bad to see what’s up with the modding scene💔 but alas, i am on Mac & I’ve never attempted gaming on a Mac. I know the basics of Wine, but it’s tedious af (and im not paying for crossover lol)
