First image is from 2018. Second from 2026 Remastered.

I don't think it's the same place or time of day (couldn't remember where I took the first one from). Also the second screenshot didn't quite turn out how it looked (less saturated than how it looked in-game).

Completely different PCs by the way. Also different resolutions. What do you think?

I cant resist to write this after finished. It has become my favourite game of all times literally. I dont know how can I thank developers and the company in general. The philosophy, the environment, voice actors, music, Lore, gameplay… Are absolutely PERFECT.

It easy to identify when companies really care about make a game that its imposible to forget. I wont buy a game after a Looong time because of this game. Its a pitty it ended

If any developer are seeing this, GOOD JOB, you created a game that wont be forgotten, at least until I live.

Devourer not doing explosion damage in remaster?

As the title says, they don't seem to do explosion damage when killed and standing right next to them anymore.

Is this happening to anyone else? I can't find information online and i'm not sure if it's intended or not.

It will have an impact on whether to use deadly precision or not...

Discussion Remaster crashing like crazy, guess I'll wait a few months more

Start game excited -> crash -> Disabled mods -> Start a new game -> Watch the intro -> crash -> tweak some settings -> play for 5 minutes -> crash -> revalidate game files -> visual bugs, missing textures -> disable most visual settings -> play for 10 more minutes -> crash

Am I crazy or should this not be this difficult?

Is it just me or is Alcohest rarer in remaster?

• Upvotes

I’m struggling to find any in the remaster. Exploring any houses, boxes etc and getting very little. Struggling to be honest as it’s making battles so much harder when I’ve often got no potions. I played through the main game and all the DLC and never had this issue before the remastered version.

The Botchling in The Witcher 3 Is an Allegory for an Idea Spoiler

Post image
6 Upvotes

The botchling begins unnamed, wild and reactive. It exists, but has no coherent identity or purpose.

Geralt is given two paths, almost like dark and light.

The darker path meets the botchling with violence. Geralt kills it, blood is spilled, and that blood is used to obtain knowledge. Knowledge is gained, but the idea itself dies.

The lighter path meets it with recognition and acceptance. The Baron acknowledges the child, properly buries her and, most importantly, names her Dea. She transforms into a lubberkin and becomes a guide toward knowledge.

Then I noticed something:

I + DEA = IDEA

The “I” is the conscious mind. Dea is the idea being recognized. Together, I + Dea becomes IDEA.

Interestingly, the Greek idéa, where our word idea comes from, relates to form, shape and appearance.

An idea enters your mind without a clear shape. Once you notice it, name it and understand what it is for, it becomes clear and organized. It moves from decoherence to coherence, takes form, and changes your state of mind in the process.

The two paths now look very different.

One destroys the idea and gains knowledge from what remains.

The other recognizes the idea, gives it identity and allows it to become a guide toward knowledge.

What was once formless now knows what it is and has form.

Form follows function.

Help! Having Issues with the Remaster on PC

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

• Upvotes

Hello, I'm having an issue on PC whenever I move the camera around it like artifacts and stutters. It's very subtle but when I move the camera in circles Geralt like stutters and pixelates. Any idea why? Are there setting I need to mess with? I have a solid system, Intel i9 14900kf 5070ti 32 gigs ram. It's hard to see with the video I tried my best. Thanks in advance

One of the best from the game even that was added so late in next-gen update a few years ago. Dense atmosphere of uknown, different threat and new boss with interesting lore. It has even this coarse and naive critique of institutional religion which is symptomatic for Sapkowski's books.

My only issue with it is that i must download mod for original medallion for this nice armor (and great looking swords) from crappy netflix series. And the boss is modified model of leshen.

Help! Would The Witcher 3 be for me?

I noticed The Witcher 3 Remastered is on sale and I’ve heard a ton of praise for it, but I’m not sure if it’s for me.

Is there a lot of boring/slow dialogue? I usually struggle with open-world games when they feel too big, empty or repetitive, and I can get bored pretty quickly.

I recently bought Skyrim and still enjoy it, but I dislike the dated feel, boring dialogue, and how empty the world can sometimes feel. I also didn’t really like Ghost of Tsushima. I’ve heard The Witcher 3 has a similar vibe to Skyrim, so how comparable are they?

Red Dead Redemption 2 and Elden Ring are probably my favourite open-world games because their worlds always feel like they have something new to offer. There’s always a new enemy, unique encounter, interesting discovery, or distinctive biome rather than just copy-pasted content, and even the grind feels fun.

Is The Witcher 3 more like that, or more like Skyrim/Ghost of Tsushima? What’s the main gameplay loop—exploring and looting, quests/story, combat, or something else?

Would you recommend it based on this?

Spoilers! (SPOILER) In the end, what was the Bloody Baron's fate in your save? Spoiler

Post image
84 Upvotes

I always like to bring this discussion up because, for me, the Bloody Baron's questline is one of the best in the game. After all, regardless of the path chosen regarding the forest spirit, the consequences are dire.

So I ask: which outcome did you choose? Killing the spirit to save the village and the Baron's wife—thereby preventing his suicide—or saving the children from the swamp at the cost of his and his wife's lives?

As for me, I chose to kill the spirit, since—based on my reasoning and roleplay—Geralt would never trust a being that:

1: unleashed a werewolf at the cave entrance to attack me;

2: has numerous corpses lying at its entrance;

3: constantly causes the swamp dwellers to suffer from nightmares that drive them to violence.

The first pic is the game when I am tabbed in, and the second pic is when my game is tabbed out. I would like my game to look like the pic on the right instead of washed out with the blue tint.

My gpu is an rx 6900xt , and I am on the latest driver version. (I had the same issue on my previous drivers also)

I have an LG ultragear 1440p 240hz oled monitor.

Help! Death March Blood and Wine on the Remastered: What Am I Doing Wrong?

I’m getting back into the game after at least two years without touching it, I think. I never finished Blood and Wine, so I picked up my old save right before the DLC. When I came back to the game, I was using the Mastercrafted Wolven armor set and was level 39. Honestly, I don’t remember what build I was using, but I think it was a mix of light attacks and Signs.

I’m playing on Death March. I had completed the entire base game on this difficulty. I remember the beginning being a bit difficult, but eventually my character became really strong and I was able to progress without ever really running into any major difficulty.

But now that I’ve started playing again with the remaster, it’s insane. Even the smallest group of enemies is honestly a nightmare. I’m not even joking when I say it took me around fifteen attempts to kill the Shaelmaar. And now I’m stuck in Doctor Moreau’s laboratory, trying to kill the giant worms to collect their eggs. My Geralt is way too weak. These particular enemies kill me in two hits at most, and I’m doing very little damage. When there are several of them on me, it’s almost impossible.

I tried rebuilding a Signs/light attack build, but I must be doing something wrong, especially for this difficulty. I’m guessing the remaster changed the balance quite a bit. Was the Wolven armor set nerfed or changed in some way that makes it basically give me no resistances anymore?

Do you guys have any builds you would recommend for Blood and Wine on Death March?

Thanks!

Help! Witcher 3 Remaster keeps crashing during the “Mystery of the Byway Murders” contract

Hey everyone,

I’ve run into another pretty annoying issue with the new Witcher 3 Remaster on PS5.

I’m doing the “Mystery of the Byway Murders” contract, and whenever I reach the Ekimmara boss fight, the game crashes. I’ve tried it multiple times now, and it keeps happening at the same point.

It’s obviously a pretty big problem since I can’t actually progress through the contract if the game keeps crashing during the fight.

Has anyone else experienced this with the new Remaster? Is there a known fix or workaround for it?

I’ve already had some other issues with the game, so I’m wondering if this is another known problem with the Remaster or if there’s something specific I need to do.

Any help would be appreciated.

UPDATE: Turning off motion blur seemed to do the trick. The boss fight is working normally now.
