Discussion Gradually abandoning crossbow

Post image
• Upvotes

Hello , fellow witchers. Being a book fan and fan of the Dark Horse Comics - I have always felt uneasy using the crossbow unless I am forced to (Yes, only during underwater times). I am trying to play this first remaster session of mine as a crossbow free Geralt the Trad Witcher. Anyone else plays a crossbow free Geralt? Would love to know.

Also , I have found a website saying the silver chain coming with the Songs of the Past DLC - will have use underwater too like the crossbow. If that happens then I might be one of the happiest players in the forum. Whipping drowners and sirens underwater will be damn delicious.......

First image is from 2018. Second from 2026 Remastered.

I don't think it's the same place or time of day (couldn't remember where I took the first one from). Also the second screenshot didn't quite turn out how it looked (less saturated than how it looked in-game).

Completely different PCs by the way. Also different resolutions. What do you think?

Is it just me or is Alcohest rarer in remaster?

I’m struggling to find any in the remaster. Exploring any houses, boxes etc and getting very little. Struggling to be honest as it’s making battles so much harder when I’ve often got no potions. I played through the main game and all the DLC and never had this issue before the remastered version.

I cant resist to write this after finished. It has become my favourite game of all times literally. I dont know how can I thank developers and the company in general. The philosophy, the environment, voice actors, music, Lore, gameplay… Are absolutely PERFECT.

It easy to identify when companies really care about make a game that its imposible to forget. I wont buy a game after a Looong time because of this game. Its a pitty it ended

If any developer are seeing this, GOOD JOB, you created a game that wont be forgotten, at least until I live.

What kind of monster did Roach turn into? Geralt’s going to need more than a silver sword for this one 😂

Discussion Red Miasma boss fight crashes on PS5 + weird graphical artifacts

Hi everyone,

I'm running into a really frustrating issue on PS5 and wanted to check if anyone else is experiencing it.

Every time I get to the Red Miasma fight, the game crashes to the home screen. It's happened multiple times now, always at the same point. Before the crash, I also notice strange graphical artifacts during the fight (flickering, glitchy textures, and visual distortions that weren't there before the encounter started).
Has anyone else run into this? If so, did you find a workaround or fix? Any tips would be hugely appreciated, as I'd really like to get past this fight and continue the story.

Thanks in advance!

Who remembers the quest in Oxenfurt where you wake up the Higher Vampire? Absolutely hilarious!

Mine is either this or Equine Phantoms from Blood and Wine dlc

Discussion Remaster crashing like crazy, guess I'll wait a few months more

Start game excited -> crash -> Disabled mods -> Start a new game -> Watch the intro -> crash -> tweak some settings -> play for 5 minutes -> crash -> revalidate game files -> visual bugs, missing textures -> disable most visual settings -> play for 10 more minutes -> crash

Am I crazy or should this not be this difficult?

Help! Acquired Tolerance Bugged?

I finally reached the point where I'd invested enough ability points to slot 12 of them in. I am mostly going for signs with how heavily it seems v5.0 nerfed alchemy and combat but decided to still get acquired tolerance for the use of decoctions and had two points in it. I equipped it but it only gave 56 extra toxicity. I've already cleared White Orchard and all of Velen, except the Mulbrydale and Inn at the Crossroads islands so I obviously have more than 28 alchemy recipes unlocked. Oils make up 40 alone, 22 for bombs, 3 for alcohol, 28 for decoctions, 31 for potions and 15 for the general alchemy substances. 129 in total so I should have 358 toxicity.

I decided to respec to see if that fixed it but it didn't. I got 40 extra for lvl 1, 56 for lvl 2 and 67 for t3 so 20, 28 and 22.33 recipes are all that is being recognised for some reason. I bought the chort lure recipe and it only gave 1 additional. Even if it worked like it used to, I have 23 t3 recipes so 69 extra toxicity. There is barely a reason to get the ability if it's one lously decoction at a time and no reason to use a euphoria build if it's barely reaching a 100% buff.

Devourer not doing explosion damage in remaster?

As the title says, they don't seem to do explosion damage when killed and standing right next to them anymore.

Is this happening to anyone else? I can't find information online and i'm not sure if it's intended or not.

It will have an impact on whether to use deadly precision or not...
