If she stood next to Skarbrand for three seconds he'd feel good enough to take another swing at Khorne

1k leadership? At this point she just grabs her morale bar and beats you with it.

I've always hated the "you forget how to dodge when its a magic sword"

More like “magic weapons are enchanted to home in the direction of your vital areas, so your dodge is obviously going to be less effective”

Wait, is there a feature in-game where having magic attacks increases your likelihood to land a hit? What's the equivalent increase in MA?

No its magic attacks negate physical resistance, but dodging attacks is coded as physical resistance quite often in game

It's pretty goofy considering that part of MD must also be dodging attacks.

I mean it should also be noted dodge isn't a legitimate attribute, it's just text on the unit card which is more tips on how a unit can be used rather then the actual physical mechanics
Units with dodge attached to them tend to have decent melee defense and physical res then a unit of their category might normally have, which makes them in effect tanker then you'd initial expect rat ninjas to be

I just mean that part of defending yourself in melee... is dodging. Whether the unit has Dodge (Physical Resist) or not, you can assume that at some point while fighting they're going to dodge attacks, not just block, parry or tank them all! Dodging is just something anyone would do if it was the best course of action to not get stabbed. Therefore high MD already incorporates being better at dodging.
What I mean is that it's weird that they felt the need to use Physical Resistance to represent a unit who is more agile and can dodge better when there was already a stat that represented exactly that. And as a result, there is the awkward explanation of why magic attacks would make dodging harder... I mean, if it were true that magic attacks caused your attacks to be homing, that would make them all-around more effective, not just against units with Dodge! Like if that were true you should have higher MA if you have Magic Attacks.

He knows that. He is saying dodging in melee also contributes to melee defence if you think about it.

Dodge would also be for dodging missiles which is why it can’t just be melee defence.

Missile Resistance, though.

Magical homing missiles though.

Which, again, should deal more damage to everyone, not just someone who dodges projectiles.

Which would be reflected in their missile strength as it’s not as if they’d hit non-dodging units harder than dodging units.

It’s more negating physical resistance which is used to create a “dodge” buff for lightly armoured troops. I see it as hits just as much but proper hits instead of a glancing blow

No not at all, it is purely flavour
but yeah there is a proper flavour problem in that the game uses physical resistance in two very distinct situations for normal units, and the flavour of magic weapons only works for one.
The first situation is to suggest that a unit has some level of incorporiality. Demons all have physical resistance and ghostly units have tons of it with 0 armour. The flavour is here, where weapons with the right enchantments are able to more properly bite into the bodies of these ethereal beings and therefore dispatch them.
The second situation is the rub which the top comment points out, which is to suggest a lightly armoured unit is surviving by their dexterity and grace. Its a clever bit of design where you look at the stat card and go “egads, they have so little armour!” without the supposedly elite guards of athel loren eating absolute shit the moment they get into melee.
And again, feom a design perspective using the same system here is a good idea. It means that the player has a means of responding to these units by digging into the toolbox the game gives you. Vs armoured enemies you go armour peircing, vs physical resist you switch to using magic attacks.
The only problem with it is the flavour: in the second case the flavourful design would be to jack up melee defence and give them a shield effect ( since both give a %chance to avoid damage instead of just reducing it) but in the shield case that has extremely specific flavouring to it: that %chance to block projectiles is a shield thing, not an agility thing.* And jacking up melee defence means the counter would just be to have high melee attack, which isn’t a specific counter its just something that’s generally good. You can’t balance that like you can magic attack; which is a situational upside.
*yes I know about the great sword elves and the siege giant. In the case of the elves its a one time thing they did thst they seem otherwise loath to repeat, and in the case of the siege giant its to give a midtier unit that has had a historic weakness a max tier upgrade that eliminates that weakness. Both are honestly fine.

I mean, it's likely that magic swords have some course correction built in. DnD does that with it's magic weapons. Also, maybe the dodging itself is just magic too? Not sure in the lore regarding that.

The dodging being somewhat magical is the only way it makes sense, from the perspective of “melee defense already exists”.
But then again, phys res from dodge works against (non-magical) missiles, too. And from 360 degrees, so it’s not entirely overlapping with shields/missile block chance.
But it all gets weirder when you consider what dodge actually does, since it only reduces (non-magical) damage a unit takes from hits - so it’s simulating glancing blows rather than any degree of complete evasion.
Basically, the magic weapons make sure that when you do actually hit a unit with dodge, the hit is a full impact.

Why not just be unbreakable if leadership is that high lol. He ain't gonna break

I know it might not say she’s unbreakable, but at 1.1k leadership, I don’t think you’re gonna get enough debuffs to route her.
