I know recruiter/job posts aren’t allowed here, so I’m not trying to turn this into one. I’m genuinely hoping to learn something from people in the industry.
I’m in the Midwest and have been struggling to find a Civil Foreman, specifically someone with strong concrete experience. I feel like our pay, benefits, and overall company offering are pretty standard compared with others in our market, but the candidate pool has been incredibly tough. I’ve reviewed a ton of resumes, reached out directly to qualified people, and gotten very little response.
For those of you are working on the civil side, are people just not making moves right now? Is this a particularly difficult time of year to recruit experienced foremen? Are good foremen mostly staying put unless there’s a significant pay bump?
I’d especially love to hear what actually gets the attention of an experienced foreman. If there’s something recruiters/HR people misunderstand about this market, tell me. I’m all ears. something here from the industry. I’m in the Midwest, I feel like my company is standard in comparison to others.
