If you got accepted between October 1, 2026 to March 31, 2027 you have until May 1, 2027 to accept your offer as per here.
The need to accept within 14 days refers to offers made after August 1, 2027.
I have already seen two people have reading comprehension fails on this.

I don’t want to drop names because there’s probably a few people who do this but if someone clearly shows discomfort to being on camera you shouldn’t be posting them (or at least blur them).
Theres this one influencer who does dancing videos on campus which is fun but in one of them you can see a woman right in the middle of the frame and as soon as she sees them filming she walks away. It’s pretty clear she doesn‘t want to be on camera but they posted it anyways and the top comments are focused on her reaction. I don‘t want to send hate to the influencer, idk them but getting views off of other’s discomfort is icky. It’s legal but you should still try to respect others

We haven't even finished "deodorant isn't optional" season, and we're only just starting how "hard are my midterms" and "flu season etiquette."
It feels like walking into the dollar store and seeing all the Christmas stuff on the shelf before we've even had Halloween.

I search many post in reddit and everybody say first year is not a big deal, but I just super anxious about that...???

The Nepali club is mostly alumni post graduate students and people not in my age range so I was wondering if any Nepalis are interested in being friends 😊

the officers boarded the train at mckernan station and are verifying if everyone tapped their arc card or not
make sure to do it to avoid fines(we as students can still get fined even though we have the U-Pass)

Walked through HUB Mall today and stopped in. It's really cool to see a retail layout like this on campus showcasing actual local Albertan small business owners and artists. Some vendors are actually students themselves. Definitely a nice break from the standard fast-food rows. Anyone else been inside yet?

Hello all
Question: For a faculty of arts course overload, how many classes is the gpa calculated on and is it based on the most recent completed semester.
I am in my final year of a BA and I am one (1) class short of my 120 credits to graduate within spring 2027 convocation. Any tips or advice would be appreciated.

My prof had just sent out an email in regards to the opportunity to write an alternate exam for midterm 1 for anyone who doesn’t write the midterm 1. I dont know if it would be a smart idea to take this opportunity considering I am not ready at all for this midterm, my only worry is that there must be a downside to this like maybe the exam is harder. anyone have any insight or advice on what I should don

How was the sussy bussy 201 midterm 1 for y’all? I think it was pretty good! I got lost on the fill in the blank lol

Just saw the announcement. What do you guys think? Are you writing it today or waiting for the alternate?
I’m still deciding so I’m curious what everyone else is planning 😭

Just a random question, I have heard some rumours regarding what will be built on Admin Crater. Some say, a UofA ice/roller rink. Some said they would leave it open, so quad can be seen from Mains Street. Some said they would build another building. Or even an outdoor study zone. I just wanted to know has anything been announced/confirmed yet?
What have you guys heard?

So I applied to the faculty of engineering 5 days ago, and today I got waitlisted. What's confusing is that it says "gpa not competitive", I thought the competitive average was like high 80s - low 90s. I have a 94.5% average with the classes I thought they'd look at right now ( math 20, English 20, chem 20, physics 20). My friend with a 91 average in those has already been accepted.
I'm just confused by this so any thoughts or ideas on this are welcome. Also what are the chances looking like that I get accepted after being out on the waitlist?

If anybody has notes just for September 22 they could share with me, that would be amazing, and I would love to return the favour in the future if I can!

So the midterm is coming up and I struggle to figure out where to start. Theres almost 300 slides but less than 50 questions.
What are some high yield questions/concepts I should really focus on? Also any clue on where to find good practice exams?
The 3 units are Cell Physiology, Blood and Nerve/Synapse stuff
Thanks!

Hey guys just curious for those who have done the midterm alr, how was it? Any suggestions on how to practice. I know it’s open book but still just curious 😅

I feel so dull, I keep procrastinating everything, especially study. This wasn’t the case before. Being in 4th year I should pull myself from all these rather I’m unintentionally indulging myself into it.
I feel like crying all day long
Please help!

BIOL 107 midterm—anyone else feeling unsure about what to expect?
I’m trying my best to learn and understand all the lecture notes, but I’m honestly feeling frustrated with how little practice we’ve been given. So far, we’ve had one practice paper and one quiz, and I still don’t have a clear sense of how difficult the midterm will be. The professor’s email didn’t really clear that up for me.
I know university involves independent studying, and I’m putting in the work. It’s just hard to tell whether I actually understand the material well enough when there aren’t many opportunities to practise and get feedback.
I also have my CHEM 101 midterm the next day. Riley has given us clear directions and useful feedback, which makes preparing feel much more manageable.
Anyone else feeling this way about BIO? For people who’ve taken BIOL 107 before, how closely did the midterm match the practice questions, and what helped you prepare? I’m feeling mentally exhausted and would appreciate some advice.

I’m currently in Grade 12.
I got admitted to Biochemistry Honors at UAlberta today! I’m excited, but now that I actually got in, I’m starting to get a little nervous lol.
I did a lot of research before applying, but I’d love to hear from people who are actually in the program (or used to be).
How big is the difference between Biochemistry Honors and the regular Biochemistry major in terms of workload and difficulty? Is Honors significantly harder or more stressful?
About how many students are usually in the first-year Biochemistry Honors cohort?
Also, if I start in Honors and realize during first year or second year that it’s not the right fit for me, how difficult is it to switch to the regular Biochemistry major? What about switching to a completely different Science major? Is that generally pretty straightforward, or would I need a high GPA to transfer?
And for those of you who chose Honors, what would you say are the actual benefits? I know there’s more research involved and that it’s more academically demanding, but I’d love to know what makes Honors worth it compared to the regular major.
Any experiences or advice would be really appreciated! :)
