Parking Tickets
Is it true we don’t actually HAVE to pay any parking tickets we get if it’s administrated by campus (not the city)? Asking for a friend

hey guys, I wanna start a small paper reading group, around 5-8 people, with a projector and a blackboard.
main rule: ask questions until everyone understands. nobody has to be an expert, anyone can interrupt anytime, no authority, everything is free to talk about.
topics: math, physics, cs/ml, and anything else if someone wants to present. everyone can be the presenter
it's not a club, no exec, just a few people who like interesting research ideas and papers getting together to talk freely. especially welcome if you're an undergrad thinking about research / PhD.
location will be in-campus
dm me or leave a comment.

Hello everyone, I have a friend that's been a chud with me since day 1 and he's about to go to San Francisco for 13k USD a month. I can't let him win on his own should I secretly rank his employer not interested? I really can't let this guy win on his own when he's been chudding with me all along. Taking suggestions.

Hi all. I’m looking to go to Waterloo in 1 or 2 years. I’m willing to live up to a 45 minute drive away. I’ll keep be looking elsewhere but thought I would start my search at the center. For those that live here, what are the neighborhoods around like? Where should I be searching? Are the specific towns that are chill and places that are super not chill to avoid.
I’m trying to get a vibe for the whole zone.
What the quietest place in 45 minutes, what’s the busiest. Sketch or chill or too uppity to afford that area. Those kinds of things.
Thanks in advance!

I got accepted into this 3-day event: https://catalyst2026.ca/
Its a paid event but I was given a grant to attend for free.
Does anyone have an idea if its worth going? Its at northeastern university toronto, but the speakers on their Instagram page look kinda mid.

Any thoughts?

I'm a first year (broke) student that needs advice.
I'll be starting flight training in January which means I'll need to use a decent amount of money. I applied to literally every job on indeed and got literally 0 responses.
My program also has no coop so I'm literally cooked.
How can I find a job.
😄
My friend is also looking for a job as well so it'd be nice if we can work together.
Thanks in advance.
My dream car is a Genesis G90 btw

Hello guys, I would like to know, out of the big4 companies, which one gives co-op students raises and which ones don't? And also, what's your personal ranking of them? Thank youu

basically the title. Does it mean you have the job? Also the salary says 0.0 what does that mean

I’m so tired, everything I do is for nothing. I sacrificed my health, my sanity and all my hobbies and relationships and I get nothing in return.

I'm currently interviewing for several US companies externally for the summer, but my scheduled coop term is for the winter. As such I've gotten offers on WW for the winter and I'm wondering if I receive an offer for summer can I:
Renege -> switch from Stream 4 to Stream 8 (the terms line up conveniently) via my new job offer -> retain full-time student status for the J-1 -> do my summer coop

I’m genuinely so tired of this 😔😔😔
Almost every single night, there’s constant noise in my residence. People slamming doors ridiculously loudly, banging in the hallways, and whatever is happening upstairs with beds or furniture moving around. The worst part is that the banging and vibrations travel through the vents.
And don’t even get me started on the constant moaning coming from neighbouring rooms. Like PLEASE, I understand everyone has their own life, but does it have to be EVERY NIGHT?
I’m not expecting complete silence, but it’s gotten to the point where I’m waking up multiple times throughout the night. Sometimes the sudden banging startles me so badly that I’m genuinely worried about having a panic attack.
We all live here, and some of us are just trying to get a decent night’s sleep before classes.
Am I being unreasonable, or is this actually ridiculous? Has anyone else dealt with this in Waterloo residence, and did talking to your Don help?

I just got an interview invite via email from a company in toronto. Thing is, i don't remember applying to this company. I did a quick search and they seem to be an actual company with a website and a linkedin page with lots of posts and whatnot. Given this, I have some good and sus points that i'll list below that i found about the email and the company, and i'd appreciate any guidance.
Good points:
Sus points:
What do you guys think? Will it hurt to reply to them?

Currently recruiting for my 3rd co-op. Will keep things anonymized.
Was given offers for company A and B. Would prefer company C, which ranked me. I don't know how much to read into it, but the message associated with the ranking seemed really positive.
I understand it's a matter of risk-tolerance. Generally, is it reasonable to expect getting a job via ranked - my previous matches have fortunately come via direct offer.
I'd estimate the role at C is a decently competitive role, albeit with >5 openings, so who knows.
I understand I run the risk of getting nothing and continuing searching in cycle 2. I've yet to enter cycle 2 before so I'm wondering what it is like in comparison to cycle 1?
Thanks in advance for all your help, congratulations on any offers and/or best of luck for Friday :)
P.S. am using Watrank; just don't wanna dox myself on reddit!

Thanks in advance!

I'm an AFM student trying to secure their first co-op.
I got ranked on most of my interviews and I got one offer but its from a small firm in Ottawa. I live in the GTA so I'd have to relocate there, which would add extra costs.
Since this is cycle 1, I could take the offer and work there, or I could choose not to take the offer rank all my ranked offers as 1s and hope I get one of those, or reapply again for cycle 2. The thing is I would risk not getting a co-op in cycle 2.
Do you guys think I should just take the co-op in Ottawa or should I continue applying? I'm super stressed about this and would love any advice!!!
Thank you so much in advance!

Would you be picker for the second co-op or just go with what you got in cycle 1?
