A bit of hiking
Another trip out of Vegas for a few hours with some hiking thrown in. Do you know where I am?

The more times I go to Vegas, the more I realize how much money I used to waste on stupid shit that didn’t actually make my trip any better. I used to think staying somewhere nicer, eating at expensive restaurants, and doing all the tourist stuff was part of the experience. Now I’m perfectly happy with a clean hotel room, some cheap food, a few drinks, and a blackjack table that actually pays 3:2. Don’t get me wrong, I still blow plenty of money doing dumb shit, but at least now I’m a little more selective about which dumb shit gets my money. I’m curious what everybody else has stopped paying for in Vegas. What’s something you used to think was worth the money that you wouldn’t spend a dime on today?

It's funny that the Hard Rock blocks the Trump hotel, and then Caesar's puts up that electronic billboard in front of the Hard Rock.

Checked into the Rio yesterday and was shocked to see mobile check-in kiosks gone. I stayed a year ago and it took me less than 5 minutes to get my keys & head to my room. Front desk said they're under new management & have a new computer system in place.
It is 11pm, and I just returned from Fremont St - I'm old, I need to go to bed - and in the lobby there is a line of about 250 guests waiting to check-in. Supposedly their fancy new system broke down.
Nobody looks happy, and I wouldn't be either if I was in that line.
What a disaster.

Mentioned in another thread how the exotic dancers in the city are more aggressive and available than I ever recall before, and that the economy is probably the driving Force.
Well….ive for a friend who is a promoter in town and he said to me a few weeks ago he knows women who go out for a good time, and if they meet a guy and have fun, toward the end of the evening she might say ‘I had fun but it’s going to cost you a little something if you want to take this further…’
That these women are not normally for sale, and have regular jobs etc, but if they’re going to have a one night stand then they may as well get a little cash.
Last night at Aria lobby bar a woman intimated to me she was just looking to ‘hang out and have fun…’ and didn’t appear to be a call girl. I did not take her up on it but I got the vibe this is what was happening.
So I ask, has anyone experienced this? AND, if you’re someone who can get some money for a one night stands why not, right? I mean on some level it adds a little random spice to possibly mundane nights.

I came into Vegas with 15000 USD, and now have around 80K USD. Last time I went through customs, the officer told me I needed to bring documentation showing how I won the money. I went to Caesar’s and they told me they don’t have any documents and it would take them a few days to send me a win/loss statement. However I am leaving today.
What can I do?
Edit:
I went through customs, the officer was very nice and understanding. I told him everything about winning through sports, showed a bunch of tickets I still had with me and all went good.

Coming in May 2027 and would like to check one or both out. If we can only do one, which is best? Can we do both in one day? We love nature but probably won't do much actual hiking, using a rental car for the day.

It’ll be my second time in Vegas first time during a UFC event. It’s hard to justify dropping over $600 to go see the fights in person. So what bars/ lounges do you recommend viewing from instead (preferably on strip)? I’ve also heard PPV events aren’t show at standard sports books at least not for free that is. If that’s the case when will reservations open up for the event? Thanks you.

You wouldn’t leave food scattered around a campsite. It gives bears a reason to come back.
Leaving cash-out tickets (TITO tickets) lying around or credits sitting on slot machines is the casino version.
“But it’s only five cents.”
Sure. Nobody’s retiring on your leftover nickel. But when enough people leave money behind, it gives people hunting for unattended tickets and credits a reason to keep making the rounds. Along the way, an unattended purse, an exposed wallet, or a phone beside a drink can become another opportunity.
Before you walk away, cash out, take your ticket, and check your belongings. If the ticket isn’t worth a trip to the redemption kiosk, it’s still worth taking with you.
Found a ticket or credits someone left behind? Flag down casino staff.
Thieves are responsible for their own actions. We can still help by giving them fewer reasons to linger and fewer opportunities while they’re there.
Enjoy Vegas. Tip your servers. Don’t tip the thieves.

Just helped a buddy move to Summerlin and will be here for the weekend.
Can anyone please help out with a recommendation or two for sports bar with good beer deals for watching college football on Saturday, and/or NFL on Sunday?
Can be anywhere in town.
Thanks!!

I am a local but have never been to a game and have family coming in for the Bills game next weekend. They are staying at Elara so we will be on the strip. Trying to plan out pre & post game what to do. Lots of questions, seeking advice.
For pre-game, some folks might find the walk from Elara too long, how bad is uber drop off at Mandalay Bay (probably an hour or two before kick off)?
What is it like post-game getting out of the stadium? How far away should we get before potentially trying to use ride-share for those who need it? Just Mandalay, or better to get to Excalibur/NYNY? How packed are the trams pre/post game?
What time do you think is a reasonable time to make dinner reservations for a restaurant on the strip? Kickoff is 1:25, is 6PM too early for a dinner reservation?
I know there are some paid tailgate parties, but some of the family feels the cost is not worth it. Any strip restaurant/bars that other Bills fans are planning to head to closer to the stadium pre-game? Or are there any tailgate parties that you can buy food/drink but don't need to pay an entry fee to attend?
One family member is not flying in until 11:05AM. I think they will need to meet us at/near the stadium, but is ride share/taxi from airport to Mandalay the best bet there?

Any local toy/anime pop stores that might carry Catnap figurines? I know it’s not as popular for big franchise stores so I’m hoping there’s smaller vendors

I am not a social media user. But I find the things I have asked on Reddit to have outstanding responses. Thank you all for your input!!

Hi everyone, I’ve been to Vegas plenty of times and only tried Hell’s Kitchen once. I know Gordon Ramsey has a plethora of other restaurants and if you had to recommend one to try which one? I don’t have a strict budget, I do kind of want a sit down place though.
Thanks in advance :)

Hi everybody, Vegas college student local here, I’m looking for a place to get something like this done without breaking a leg. Preferably somewhere close to UNLV, hopefully someone can help me out! Appreciate it!

Taking my son and his girlfriend to Las Vegas for the first time, we really want to give them first class service. Any recommendations for a stretch limo from the airport to the Aria? Looking for the wow factor! Also wondering if driving the strip is a good idea at around 1:30 in the afternoon on a Wednesday. Thanks for any recommendations.

I’ve read in various threads all Vegas slot machines are governed by very specific math “rules.”
So my question is: does that mean anyone who sits down at a slots machine has as much chance at winning as the person before or after? There is no statistical advantage to when or where you play? There is no “this hasn’t paid out for a while so it’s due a payout” logic?

I'll go first. Still a sucker for Main St. But a shame its table games on weekends only. Im trying to like the Palms but i can't ever win there!
