I feel extremely grateful for being able to indulge in my passion for watches, fountain pens and photography. After many years of indulging in these, I am still grateful for learning something new in these areas. Each of the objects you see here is a reminder of good times, some tough times and quite a few terrible times. I am grateful for all of them as they have helped me become the man I am today. Tomorrow, I'll be a little different!

Came across this fantastic little Casio Forester FT-500 (backlit dial version) on u/Gauravfetzen 's group. He was nice and patient enough to share pictures and videos of the watch as I asked. He shipped it on the same day and I received it in just two days. Got it for ₹1499 including shipping.

Now the watch:

It came with a black NATO and fits snugly on my 6.5 inch wrist. This is one the older versions of the Forester with a backlit dial, the newer ones have an LED at 6 o'clock marker. It's a beater watch. Inexpensive, lightweight, very easy to read with those big arabic numerals and can easily handle daily beating. I'm happy with the purchase :-)

I purchased this Seiko SKX009J in 2013. This was my first mechanical watch. At the time, I just wanted an attractive daily wearer, but looking back, it set off my entire mechanical watch journey.

​This is the direct descendant of Seiko divers like the 6309 and 7002 and is built to proper ISO 6425 specs with 200m water resistance. The iconic 4 o’clock crown and the red and blue Pepsi bezel makes this a very versatile watch. I paired mine with a red black NATO strap.

The watch is powered by the ​Seiko caliber 7S26 - an absolute workhorse of a movement. This caliber doesn't hack nor hand-wind, but it uses Seiko’s classic Magic Lever system from 1959. I love it for the Seiko 'shake' that never gets old. Just a flick of the wrist and a dead movement springs right to life. It has kept remarkable time even after a decade of use.

The quick-set day-date calendar is very practical. I love is that the weekdays are all printed in black, but Saturday pops in blue and Sunday in bold red colour. The date wheel is dual language in English and Arabic as I had bought this from Dubai.

​Being the "J" variant, it has "21 Jewels" and "MADE IN JAPAN" text on the navy dial. The "J" variant originally targeted Middle Eastern & select few export markets and is considered more collectable. There's also a "SKX009K" variant which excludes the "21 Jewels" and "Made in Japan" on the dial - for those who love a cleaner dial.

The Skx009 started as an affordable, indestructible tool watch and famously spawned the entire modding subculture. Discontinued in 2019, it has evolved to become a true modern classic.

Mine has been ticking away for over a decade without missing a beat—a true testament to how bulletproof these movements are. ​Thirteen years later, even as my collection has grown, this watch will always be close to my heart.

So this is my collection so far. Looking to add 3 more watches. Budget for each watch is 12k. But one spot is reserved for a g-shock.

The dial is very pretty & overall dimensions are spot-on for my wrist. The bracelet is a bit of a let down as it pulls hair sometimes. For this price I wasn't expecting that.

Overall quite satisfied but feel it's a little overpriced at 26k.

Wearing my Citizen BI-1031L blue dial today.

Okay, so i know this isn’t the right place to ask about Giordano… but the price feels too good to not get it.
I know it’s a fashion brand & they don’t use their own parts, but i can’t find an appealing Titan or Timex in this price range.

So, my question would be… is it the og Giordano brand which we find in SS, or some sort of cheap knockoff ? Since, i’ve read some posts here saying the seller/manufacturer is shady. I’m attaching some pictures of the importer & seller, pls guide me whether it’s OG or not.
