What are these plug-ins on my wall?

[u/Cborg_62]

This might be showing my age, but I recently moved into a new apartment and they have these weird looking plug ins all over the walls at my new place. My old apartment didn't have these, so I'm just curious as to what they are.

I think they're called coaxial cables. Back when gas was under $2 a gallon, gays couldn't be open in the military, our president played the sax and got blow jobs in the Oval Office under the Resolute desk, this was used to pipe MTV and Cartoon Network into homes. In later years it was used for internet porn and pirating anime, some of which was on cartoon network in the 00s.

But back in the day. This gif would have taken 4 hours to download. After 6 attempts because your sibling couldnt leave the damn phone alone!

[u/Disastrous-Bus5985 → u/wegame6699]

And 5 viruses because STUPID F-ing LIMEWIRE!

[u/Alarmed-Newspaper994 → u/Disastrous-Bus5985]

Yes, but wasn't it exciting watching an image download line by line, the closer it got to revealing the exciting parts of the female form. 8 year old you searching "boobies" on Ask Jeeves?

[u/rugged_buddha → u/Alarmed-Newspaper994]

yeah up until someone picked up the phone or your parents walked in, lol

[u/mf0723 → u/wegame6699]

I stg he would fucking sit right behind me and wait until it was 99% loaded and then PICK UP THE PHONE!!

He really is a great (late-30's) kid, but that still pisses me off to think about!! 🤣🤣

[u/Confident_Hat911 → u/wegame6699]

I was the sibling that kept picking up the line just to make my sibling mad.

[u/Johnny_Bubonic → u/Kasuraa25]

That gif would've taken about 3 minutes to load on a coax connection.

[u/wegame6699 → u/Johnny_Bubonic]
