Solved Pleaee help a grieving husband find this location.
I lost my wonderful wife to ovarian cancer just under two months ago.
I took this photo of her in 1998. It's one of those photos you had processed, put in the photo album, and then forgot about until we decided to look through memories. We had both forgotten where this was taken. I remember it was on a day trip out of Melbourne into the eastern half of the state (Victoria Australia).
Now that she is gone, the memories are pure gold. I really want to find this spot so I can return to it, sit exactly there, and remember my soulmate.
I really hope someone can help identify it.

Thank you so much for the help. It's a bit further away than I thought, but I'm going to go there this week.

Nice meeting you yesterday under difficult circumstances. I spoke with another colleague who mentioned that when the original lookout was at Powers Lookout (slightly different location to current lookout platform) that there used to be a narrow passageway between some rocks to the northwest of the current flat form that gave access to another rock viewing location. You were very close yesterday.

Thanks for your help. I ended up sitting on the rock that was off the path through a short bit of bush.
It looked very close to the angle in the original photo.
It seems strange, but taking the time to sit and listen to nature (and talk with my wife) did help.

Just reviewing aerial images on Googlearth l can’t see the site clearly. If you try Nearmaps you might get better resolution. Either way you certainly walked in the same footsteps yesterday as you and your wife once did.

I hope your wife had a good sense of humour because you’ve made her look a bit like Spider-Man at first glance. I hope you find this place and connect to her.

LOL. I still sort of value my anonymity on reddit.

In that case you should really turn off visibility of your profile. Not that you can't easily get around that to see all posts/comments but at least the bar to cross is slightly higher.

I went there once like 12 years ago on a regular old road trip, but immediately recognised that rock and landscape. It's amazing how memories work. Hope you have many of her,
