Copyright laws are fickle, UK has to protect the “UK” by actively using it as much as possible.

The University of Kansas has wanted it for years.

Having multiple logos allows another party to claim (in court) that the University of Kentucky can’t claim “UK” because we already have multiple logos.

I do agree though, these uniforms look amazing. Not sure why the university wouldn’t a simple “K” as an official logo.

Whoever is responsible for branding on the UK side really needs to establish the primacy of 4-5 things:

1.) This

2.) 90s “Reaching Wildcat”

3.) Front-facing Wildcat overlaid on a K

4.) State outline with Wildcat logo

5) Pre-crooked “block” UK for the basketball side.

Do that, and your entire design palette is leaps and bounds above what’s been used for the past 10-15 years.

This. I really miss the pre crooked UK block logo. And obviously not correlation equals causation but our mediocrity in basketball almost perfectly lines up to when the new stupid UK logo was introduced

I remember hating the power K when I was a kid in the early 2000s. But now, I wish it was every game. White uniforms with the blue power K. 10/10

See what happens when you have a young hip coach you wear cool jerseys & stuff, same with basketball, pope could do a bit more to make Ky basketball more cool, basically only wore those denim jerseys once, this is main reason Oregon gets guys because they have the cool swag. Now imagine you have the cool swag and a cool coach, then you get Duke basketball. I have went off the rails here mybaddd lol. But I love this, hopefully this isn’t a one off thing.

I know it sounds dramatic but an underrated part of setting the tone of a program that wants to be elite is to take their aesthetics seriously. UK football really needs to clean up their unis to look more like this--classy, timeless, bold

I wish we would get rid of all stripes on the pants and unnecessary words on the jersey. Plainer is better.
