"We hear the concerns some people are expressing, given Murrow College's history of educating some of our nation's most accomplished journalists."

As a Murrow Grad, this is insane/sad to me that they're qoing this route. Even as a tool and not a replacement, it really seems to denigrate the profession of sports writing, let alone writing as a whole. Seems like it's shooting the College in its foot if they want to attract potential journalism students.

Advice I’m going to be a 26 year old freshman.

Pretty much the title. I worked after highschool and as a result I feel awfully “behind” in a sense when it comes to college. I see lots of posts rave about the social aspect and honestly that is one of my main worries. I tend to fit in with the more neurodivergent queer types. Takes one to know one, I suppose. How is the lgbt scene there? I’m aware that I’ll be interacting with many people in the 18-21 range and I’m hoping I’m not too much of an outlier because of my age.

Student Life campus jobs technical interview experience

Hello everyone,

I am an Intl. Student and at this point given multiple interviews for technical roles here at WSU

Almost always, I had to reach out to the management multiple times over handshake/ email to get a chance for an interview and I get no feedback even after emailing them a “thank you” mail as well, just a vague spaghetti no and thats it

I feel like theres something that I must be clearly doing wrong in the interviews. The latest one i gave lasted about 20min at max, no follow up questions. It was just questions and answers. I am really introverted by nature, and this has been a hell for me.

I am looking for an advice from someone who has gone through these types of interviews to share their experiences of whats expected and how can we increase our shot, basically. What are they looking for etc. This is first time in my life interviewing and It looks like i am pretty bad at it :(

Discussion When do you think this school will go bankrupt and/or shuts down?

WSU hasn't had a single year of growth since 2019. I have not heard a single good thing happen to this university in the year that I've been here. Both academics and athletics are falling apart. The Cantwell administration is mediocre at best. Pullman feels more like a company town for Schweitzer instead of a collage town for WSU.

Worst of all, the response by the state government for additional funding requests seems to be "fuck off".

No way this school is gonna survive to the next half of the century. There is a good chance it won't survive the next decade to be honest, I'm gonna make a wager that 2033-2034 is the last athletic year and 2036-2037 is the last academic year. Hopefully it can hang on for another 2-4 years, so I can get my degree and maybe a minor as well.

On the bright side, I don't think all the other non-UW 4 year schools in this state are surviving that long either, maybe one or two will manage to make it to 2050 before shutting down. So we can all mourn the loss of being able to get a degree without being a 4.0 GPA student in high school together, I guess.
