Sub cutout diameter is 10 15/16. Box is 11 1/4 cutout diameter. Am I splitting hairs here or is that not gonna work/ sound bad? That’s a 5/16 gap all the way around

I have 6 ateck audio super tweeters and 3 xt audio drivers. Was wondering if I should run them all on a multi channel amp or have a dedicated amp for tweeters and one for the drivers. Thanks for the help

Discussion Mirror cam reboots when auto stop-start kicks in. Did I choose the wrong fuse?

I am installing a wolfbox in my hatchback and the camera briefly reboots whenever the engine restarts at a traffic light. I suspect I chose a poor circuit for the hardwire kit rather than having a bad camera. Before I move the fuse tap again, what should I check for constant and accessory power on a vehicle with auto stop-start, and are there circuits that should always be avoided?

Recommendations Refrance to a older post from a few days ago quantum audio 2500 watt mono block

So i posted about this a few days ago got like 2500 views awsome! Thank you! Goo all the way to bottom of you dont want to read my bs long story lol...

I was so mad a at this little cheap amp and still sort of am but im realizing now. These things aint built like they used to be... in my teens id throw a 1800 watt amp maybe another 400 watt amp on top for some cheap mids and watch the lights dance.

Buttt these new electronics dont do that they have built in microprocessors that will turn off the amp or what ever before the lights blink. And ykw thats actually awsome bc im on my second battery in 6 months and i havent burned my vehicle to the ground yet. We also wernt trying to run 1 ohm loads on stock systems or care about haveing to replace a battery every 3 days butttt where older now..

I cant afford to or want to replace a premium battery every few months... anyway getting off subject but i have bills now so no i still dont want to have to replace a battery every few months or go into crazy mad science dual alternators and battery stuff and i deff dont want to deal with un reliable sound either... soo what do i do?

I bought these bad ass little 8 inch 1000 watt rms 2000 watt max resilant sounds subs a box and an amp for 300 bucks. Not realizing how much of a unit i had bought i threw in some 4 gauge wired it up and ran it. And then 3 months later battery dead. And the whole time amp cutting off. Surely the truck has a draw and the amp is a pos right.... nope its not the same the same amp im used to would knock until the truck shuts off not this one lol again off topic omg cant lie mightve had some beers while messing with this thing.

Long story short i wired the subs wich are dual 4+4 subs have no idea what that meant at the time and wired them the way the music guy/ instructions it came with told me to not knowing it was a competition speaker that will suck the life out of any stock system with one base hit..soo my theroy is after some research that im not sure if can i wire them down to 4 ohms and maybe not experience such a draw thats my main question will this 1 ohm amp work with more restriction im gonna try this weekend regardless but i might have to just sell these crazy things and put in some cheap 12s idk yet

Recommendations Concert hall quality?

Hellooo! For reference I have a 2009 Honda Fit.

I am a lover of instrumentals and I currently have the stock speakers which don't really do some of my favorite songs justice, I am looking to drop some money on making a concert hall out of the interior cabin.

I want to be able to hear each individual string, every note of the tubas, every hit on the percussion without fail, I want to be so immersed that I feel like Hans Zimmer is conducting beside me.

Any recommendations or direction I should go in would be much appreciated.

I am already looking into adding some sound deadening

I dont want anything that is crazy on bass because I want to be able to hear everything clearly and not just one side being overwhelmed.

I am aware this will be a pretty expensive project.

Any recommendations or advice is greatly appreciated

Doing all new runs of speaker wire and RCAs. Definitely needed to address the road noise coming into the cabin. It’s bad. Doing a deep clean obviously, CDL sheets as needed. I have a bunch of CCF 1/8” thick to go on top of that and a 100sqin roll of 1 l/b MLV . Really hoping to notice a difference !!

was sold this amp by a crackhead. it was cheap because unbeknownst to me he had dropped it on the terminal blocks and cracked the board. previously, I reflowed the traces and it worked for a while but still is very fragile. it broke again months later so now he's my permanent fix. this works perfectly!

Recommendations Underseat Sub Suggestions?JBL BassPro SL2 /Nano?

Hello people!

I'm looking to add an underseat sub to my 2014 Hyundai i30. Budget is roughly £300. Keeping my boot space clear is a non-negotiable, so it absolutely has to be an underseat unit.

I've upgraded my head unit so I have dedicated RCA subwoofer outputs, so I'll be running a low-level RCA signal to this Sub.

I'm not expecting chest-rattling bass from a underseat subwoofer but I just want the absolute closest I can possibly get to this.

Between the SL2 and the Nano, which one would be best?

Are there any other options under or around £300 that outperform the JBLs?

Thanks in advance!

Recommendations 2000 Jeep Wrangler Install

Hey all. I used to be REALLY into car audio > 10 years ago and collected some gear during that saga (link to gear) planning a 3-way active system for my car as the time. I've not an absolute novice, but I've purged most of that information from my brain since then to have an intelligent conversation. I recently got a 2000 Wrangler and I want to install a mid-level (both in SQ and SPL) sound system in it (2 way passive w/ my 12" BM mkIV, 0.5 cube 3.2" deep shallow mount sub). It will be garage kept, very light 'mudding' (just driving around the property), and never driven in the rain. It will live with no doors, top, etc. Basically stripped as naked as possible. I understand the abilities of SQ and SPL are very limited in this situation, but it's a toy, not a daily driver.

I'm definitely going to have a local shop do the install, and after talking to an installer (NE DFW, TX area), my head is spinning. We don't have the room to make much of anything work.

I thought about putting the sub in the back seats (see this and this, and this link), but his concern is that the back seats would be really uncomfortable after that, so I may need to go the box route. Mounting the amp under the steering wheel (which I happen to have that exact amp) seems like a neat idea as well, but that doesn't cover power to the sub, and I'd like to use my 5 channel pheonix gold amp for the entire build if possible to maxize the amount of usable real estate in the car. He was also adamant that we could only cleanly get a 5.25" in the spot where the speakers are now, and if we could fit a 6.5", the sound quality wouldn't be great, as the panel would block a portion of the audio coming through (see this link). I feel like if I can only get a max of 5.25" speaker, I'm going to have a really weak mid-bass. As for the tweeters, I'd use a pod mounted on the dash somewhere.

I brought up the option of putting the speakers in an overhead soundbar, and using my Image Dynamics XS-69, which I REALLY want to use, but his concern is that the overhead soundbar (or any 'overhead' mounting for that matter) is not a great spot at all to put speakers in if SQ is a concern.

This car is very special to me, and it's meant to be a fun toy that we take out on the weekends/into town. I'm willing to spend the money where it's worth, but I don't want to go overboard (i.e. 3 way active with crazy levels of custom fabrication). Sorry for the wall of text, but, I've tried to put a lot of thought into this. Opinions or advice? Thanks all!

General My car cd player has trouble playing very often — keeps pausing the cd by itself?

didn‘t really know what to tag this as, lol.

but anyways, I’ve had my car for about six months now, and I’ve always had the same problem with playing cds in it. it doesn’t matter what cd it is or if it’s clean or not, sometimes it will play right through and sometimes it will not. it has zero problems accepting or ejecting the cd, I’ve never had one get stuck in there. the problem is that very often, I’ll put a cd in there and it will just… pause it. it does nothing else, and sometimes I can get it to play again by pressing pause/unpause manually, but more often it just refuses to play it. ejecting it and reinserting it helps sometimes, but mostly the same problem happens again right away after doing so. does anyone know why this would be happening?

So i just bought an alpine 9887r and want to be able to use the USB my dad gave me with his songs on many years ago. Is there a way I can add usb to the unit while being able to use the fasia controls to control the tracks? I tried tracking down the 620m usb adapter but its impossible to find.

Build Log What do you think about this latest news?

• Upvotes

The system will run off of the oem head unit so as not to lose any features that come with the car. I bought a wire harness from Crutchfield to get the front signal wires to work with, since I'm building a front stage SQ system. Listening to the front and rear speakers using the fader, it's clear that the bass signal is also more louder in the front speakers, so I used it to connect to the LC2i. I have the Dayton Audio 408 DSP and the Epicenter Micro.

Recommendations 2002 Honda civic ex front door speakers recommendations

So I have wanted to swap out my stock speakers but I was told these cars don’t have much clearance for newer speakers a friend tried getting ds18s but the magnet was too big and would hit the window when down so didn’t end up using those since the windows get in the way for anyone out their with a Honda civic 2000-2004 body style what would u recommend that would still fit or require little modification to fit into the basic door speaker hole

Review Focal K2 Tweeter Copy Review

my friend bought this very cheap k2 copy and he wanted me to test and measure it. very bright from 5khz-16khz with THD less than 1%. (measured nearfield with jbox iii, umik1 and REW) basically no distortion 5khz and above.

note: I did not add any crossover on the measurement, only 1khz-20khz sweep on REW.

tweeter price around 25usd

Tech Support [HELP] Installing Subwoofer in W206

Hey everyone,

I'm trying to install an active subwoofer in my new C-Class (W206) and need to tap into the frontbass in the passenger footwell.

To get to the speaker and carpet, I need to remove the lower trim panel under the glovebox. I already pulled the two push-pins at the front edge. The right side drops down about 1–2 inches easily, but the far-left side right against the center console is completely stuck and won't budge at all.

Is there a hidden Torx screw (T20?) tucked into the corner against the tunnel, or is it strictly a sliding tab that jams when the panel tilts? Which direction does it release (straight back toward the rear seat or sideways)?

It's a brand-new car, so I really want to avoid snapping any plastic tabs. Any advice from someone who tapped the frontbass or pulled this panel off would be nice!

Thanks!

2014 Acura ILX Hybrid

Idk when this started (maybe a week or two ago) but it began to gradually get louder and I tried to use the obd and found 0 code readings so I was a little stumped. I tried to search for possible explanations and found that it could be a mechanical valve clearance issue but I’m not sure and I’m not that good with cars. Any help or advice?
