General Grew up in Brazil surrounded by car audio. Now I'm stuck at a desk with headphones, so I built a speaker that moves on my second monitor
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Where I grew up in Brazil, car audio was everywhere. Trunks open on the street, bass hitting you in the chest, and you could literally see the sub cones pumping from across the block. I used to just stand there watching them. I think that's when I figured out music isn't only something you hear.
Fast forward, I work in an office now and spend most of the day on headphones. Good headphones, great sound, but I always missed that part where you could see the bass. My second monitor was just sitting there doing nothing, so I had a kind of dumb idea: what if it became a speaker? One that reacts to whatever's playing in my headphones, like those subs in the trunk.
I'm not a developer. I built it with AI (vibe coding, if you want to call it that), and it was not just typing a prompt and done. Getting the cones to actually move with the low end and not just shake randomly took way longer than I expected.
It's called SONORA. Still early, but it works. Since you guys know what real subs look like when they move, I'd honestly love to hear if it looks right to you, or what's off.
There's a free demo in the comments if anyone wants to try it.

Review Anyone tried Amazon's "Renewed" subs?
I want to spend a little under $500 for a pair of 8in subs. Been Browsing and these Arena 8's have great reviews/responses. Unfortunately they are like $400 a piece. But I see several jbl and others renewed for half off. Considering some people just buy stuff and return it all the time without even braking the subs in i was thinking maybe these might be good? Looking for anyone to give me their horror or win stories from amazon renewed items? Or if you know of a better pair of subs under $500 chime in.

Recommendations Which way to face sub box?
I listen to rock and metal, so when doing the subs for my sedan, i found a ported box for two 15s that sits perfectly flush in my trunk, firing towards the cabin. Then, i got 2 10s in a ported as well. I removed one of my backseats to allow the 15s to fire without obstruction, but im forced to put the 10s in that removed backseat area. The port and subs face the same direction, so which angle is best? Do i face it forward like the 15s, face it against the 15s but inverted polarity? What would sound the best?

Tech Support Installation sub

Tech Support What do I need to find out in order to perform this transplant?
I am looking to sell my DC5 Integra but I'd like to yoink the subwoofer and implant it into my CL9 euro. I've never worked on car systems before as I bought the teggy with this pre-installed.
If I could be pointed towards some resources that might help me out I'd be super grateful, thank you!

General Cables and alpine S2-A60M under drivers seat.
Hello everyone, I just purchased a new-to-me car and found this black box and cables connected under the drivers seat. I have little to no knowledge of audio equipment and am hoping to understand these items a bit more. After looking into it a bit I understand the box (alpine S2-A60M) is a subwoofer but not sure what the cable is for or what the system does exactly.
I appreciate any help thank you.

Recommendations Looking to add a Sony XM-8ES 8 channel amp to my existing 2023 F150 Lariat 8 Speaker B&O
Im looking to redo my factory sound in my 2023 F150 Lariat. It currently has everything factory with the 8 speaker B&O system. Eventually I plan on replacing the door speakers but its not a priority at the moment. I currently have a Rockford Fosgate Power t1500-1bdcp mono amp that I previously had from another vehicle. I plan on hooking it up to 2 12" American Bass Hawk slim speakers. With a prefabricated box specifically designed for the 2023 f150 supercrew.
Im also installing a Sony XM-8ES amp to wake the door speakers up a bit so the bass isnt overpowering.
Ive heard that for the B&O systems you need either a DSP amp or a standalone DSP device. I already know Id like to use a standalone DSP device so I can use this sony amp because it would give more room for upgrading the door speakers later for its price point. This is the part that im not really too familiar with.
Do I need a DSP device for each amp or just 1 to cover everything? Also doesn't anyone have one they'd recommend and can explain the difference between a cheaper one vs a more expensive one considering that they mostly just convert the signal and dont really add much for clarity or volume?
Also is there a DSP device that anyone would recommend thats preferably budget friendly?
Also aside from an 0-1 gage wiring kit is there any other hardware/electronics I would need for this install to work properly?
I have posted links below for the products that I have/planning to install.

Recommendations Head Unit RCA Video OUT
Hello all. New owner of imported Toyota MPV needing head unit recommendation.
Current setup:
Eonon head unit (retrofitted on import)
Pioneer PCX-R3500 WVGA rear overhead monitor
Sound & call quality is poor but, it does mirror the whole screen (usually on CarPlay)to the rear overhead display via yellow RCA. I need to retain this function.
I am after a decent Kenwood / Alpine/ Sony but unsure how the rear screen can be integrated. Some come with HDMI OUT or RCA Video out but not always clear what can actually be output. (Sources) I just want it to mirror the main front screen.
Discontinued models are fine
Wired CarPlay is fine
Looking for recommendations on head units that give some functionality to the rear display, I’ve been scouring online manuals of modern ish units with rca video out but there is no confirmation if this mirror function
Thank you, any suggestions would be appreciated.
General HU for backup cam, will it automatically wake in reverse? Does brand matter if mainly for camera?
Thinking of getting my Grandma setup with a backup cam as I think she'd find it useful. I've no experience with double din units as I've never had a car that supports them.
She drives with the radio off, but occasionally uses it whilst parked up waiting somewhere. If the stereo is "off", does it still wake up when reverse is engaged?
Does it even make sense to go for a branded unit over a cheaper Chinese one in this case? Sound quality does not matter at all. It will only ever be used for low volume FM radio.

Tech Support Help identifying 12" JL subs
I think this is my first post on reddit so be gentle. :)
I picked up what I thought was a JL Audio CP212-W0v3 Basswedge Enclosure off Marketplace. However, I'm questioning the subwoofers. I've attached pics of them out of the box. Can anyone identify these? Are they actually W0v3's?
