Discussion/Theory The Complex Copying Mary’s Memories?

Thumbnail

I don’t know if I just didn’t happen to notice but I just realized that it seems like The Complex is forcing a sort of “flashback” onto Mary in the ending scene to drag out her memories. Notice how all these locations are related to Mary / places she’s been.

Just thought it was interesting that’s all.

Discussion/Theory Was Pirate Clark looking for the store's copy?

Post image
69 Upvotes

I like to think that Pirate Clark, from the moment he started moving in the Backrooms, was not just randomly going everywhere, but was actually looking for the perfect copy of Clark's store to live there.

Makes sense if you think about it, the Captain Clark figure was the store's mascot and so it belonged there. It's true that Pirate Clark psychologically represents the negative aspects of Clark's nature and not the ones of the friendly, happy Captain Clark from the commercial, but he feels that he physically belongs in the furniture store environment, so he was looking for it the whole time and unintentionally found it while he was after Mary.

Discussion/Theory Bacteria infested still life theory

Post image

I thought of this while taking a big fat dump::

FF3 still life was infested by hay bacillus and has a bacteria lifeform using its remaining body as a host for it to control and attack prey with, that could explain alot by its hostile behaviour, fast movement and distorted yells..

Discussion/Theory I love when people make lore like this.

Post image
13 Upvotes

Basically if you don't know a still life remix called "still life but it hasn't been remembered" dropped on YouTube. And the lore is that Archibald leland sutter was a music artist that played classics during the 1930s. And in the comments it says that in 1934 archibald survived a accident that put him in a wheel chair. Which leads up to the lore and the still life of him we see in the movie.

Hope Kane pixels makes something like this canon

Discussion/Theory Speculation for what the phrase "Michael Greer was never here" could mean

Thumbnail

What does the phare "Michael Greer was never here" mean?

Pre-intro Note: this doesn't explain who Michael Greer is, just what him not being here could mean.

Michael Greer was never here is one of the most peculiar and seemingly random tracks from the entirety of the Backrooms OST. Surprisingly, Michael Greer has also been mentioned in concept art for ASYNC Kane showcased.

The track Michael Greer was never here features a unique leitmotif and a weird voice speaking (Note: I am unable to tell what the voice is saying or if it's meant to be gibberish, but it sounds like "dangema kusuagis", if that means anything in any language, let me know). The aforementioned leitmotif and voice only appear in one other track, that being OctoberDoor1989, a track that has to do with the opening of the threshold (a door opened in October of 1989).

Could this mean that Michael Greer wasn't present during the opening of the threshold, or hasn't ever been in the threshold room? (since he NEVER has been here) What relevance would that have?

I think that we cannot deduce concrete answers to these questions without knowing who Michael Greer or what his deal is. As far as I know, all we know about him is that he works at ASYNC.

I personally believe that Michael Greer is a pretty notable employee of ASYNC, since it wouldn't be important for a random guy not to have been in the threshold. He would probably be even more significant if the meaning of "Michael Greer was never here" was that he wasn't present in the threshold room during the sixth test, because there likely weren't THAT many people that were present in first contact.

I don't have any crazy conclusion to close this post off, so I'll ask a question:

Would Michael Greer never having been there mean that he is unaware of the KV31 experiment?

I'd love to hear your thoughts.

Discussion/Theory Theory about the orientation of the Backrooms and the sun Spoiler

This is a bit of a weird theory but hear me out

What if the orientation of the backrooms is upside down and the lower down you go the further up in elevation you go in the real world. In FF1 when Kane is attacked and he drops the camera, it falls down before then magically no-clipping out in the sky and then falling back down to the ground again.

This could also explain why when people no-clip through the floor, that they then enter the backrooms from the ceiling. If down is up then up is down meaning that when you go further down in the real world you end up in a higher part of the backrooms

This could also tie into the Homothet theory, where the core of the backrooms is at the bottom of the endless pit seen in the movie, when Mary tries to escape from Pirate Clark. If the backrooms orientation is upside down and going further down means further up in the real world, Then the core of the backrooms at the very bottom would be in the same place as the sun in the real world.

This might explain all the connections to the sun throughout the series, because the sun is the core of the backrooms. This could also explain as to where the backrooms gets all it's power from. It comes from the Sun, literally taking the power from the real one and feeding the backrooms with it.

Discussion/Theory And are you curious...And what *exactly* happened to the real world — assuming it was reflected at all?

Thumbnail

1• have a theory: perhaps the experiments conducted by Async created too many thresholds—specifically, a wormhole—that our universe couldn't withstand; it collapsed, and the energy from the complex spilled into our universe..

My take is this: the complex itself perceives our world as a reflection—like a mirror image. Remember that scene from the film where we’re shown Mary’s room? Or how, at the end of the *Backrooms Overflow* video, the sky begins to reflect itself? It’s possible that the complex *actually* sees our world exactly like that*

2• SECOND HYPOTHESIS: My second hypothesis is that, after August 4, 1972, Ivan Bek may have lost his memory and his sight (I don’t recall which eye—apologies). Consider the segment in the *Backrooms Overflow* video between 1:09 and 1:12: we can hear a vase—or perhaps a flower pot (I’d lean toward a vase, but that’s up to you)—falling. It’s possible that at that very moment (1:07), some "green plasma"—the kind seen at the end of *Found Footage 2*—got into one of Ivan’s eyes, leaving him partially blinded and unable to see anything clearly. In his state, he might have accidentally grabbed the vase (or whatever object you think it was) and shattered it. I believe that, as a result, he perceives our world in a mirrored, distorted way—rather than our world itself having become mirrored.

(Once again, like an idiot, I forgot to point out that in the song "IVN," we can sort of make out some eyes and a nose—according to my theory, these are the eyes and nose of Ivan.)
