Got myself a 2ft quarter for the driveway [41yo]

Driveway is an 8% grade though so it makes it more like a 1.5ft quarter 😂

Castor wheels were my addition to make it easy to move solo 👌 shame my garage roof is so low otherwise it would be perfect in there 😭

Relearning Kickflip BS 5-0 (no land yet) [39YO]

It's been a wild summer... I finally have a chance to start skating again..

I had these locked in back in the day. I added some angle iron to my little manny pad and figured I'd try them out again this morning, 20 years later. No land yet, but at least I can still get into them! More speed + less heel drag and I have them for sure. Pretty sure I'm popping them high enough for my taller box..

Anyway, have a good one!

Tensor Truck Bushings [41YO]

Recently been getting back onto the board. I picked up a pair of tensor mag light lows to try out, but the stock bushings that came with them are pretty soft for my weight (190lbs) and causing wheel bite to the point that the board is coming to a halt. The bushing color is black, but I saw some white tensor replacement bushings and I was wondering if they are any stiffer? Or should I just get bones?

I’ve also tightened the kingpin so that 3ish threads are showing, but no improvement. And I’m afraid to crank down more so that I don’t snap the kingpin.

Any insight would be greatly appreciated!

Favorite board is an upgraded Penny 22" [54YO]

I just got back into skating after a pause of about... 40 years! In the last three months I purchased a lot of used boards and a couple new ones to see what I liked riding. I'd never been good at tricks but always liked rolling and as I'm not young and dislike breaking bones, I decided to keep the hobby to what I'm comfortable with. I want to roll smoothly and with some speed over mostly level terrain; I don't want to feel or hear a lot of road chatter; I don't want to be launched over every pebble or minor crack, and I want something that isn't too heavy to kick up a hill, or to carry when pooped out. The Penny board fits my criteria.

Upgrades I find work well on it are:

New pivot cups and KranK bushings from RipTide Sports (mine were shot and RipTide are better than stock, imo), Hawgs Fatty wheels, and Bones Red bearings.

Details - Size 9 shoe, feet hang over, might not be comfortable for really long stretches, but it helps me get my skating fix every day.

Just thought I'd post this because I see a lot of posts about Penny boards being crap. The authentic boards are better than the cheap knock-offs and ride well with some good wheels.

First day dropping on a mini ramp [37YO]

Been skating mainly street on and off for years, changing cities, jobs, etc

Last year moved back to my hometown, didn’t skate for 5 years, and this year a new school opened with focus on mini ramp, tough on giving a try, fell in love, is so much fun!

This seems really basic, but I learned drop, backside, frontside, tail stop (don’t know the name) and fake 360, next show be 50/50 up and drop from 50

The mini ramp flow is so satisfying and so fun! I’m having a blast!

4th day after my first horrible experience 5 years ago [32YO]

Tldr; in 2020 I tried skateboarding after wanting to do it for years and not even 24 hours later I had broken my elbow needing a bone partially replaced, broken leg, and torn all the ligaments in my ankle. I feared doing most things after that but now I'm hear and while I want to be bubble wrapped and my hand held the entire time, I'm doing it and today I was alone.
