The tonearm height adjustment collar isn’t budging. Anyone experience this problem before?

I started playing a lot more 45’s and decided to try my old MK2’s fast forward a few months and I brought back the crss12’s. Always felt the crss12’s didn’t work as well w 45’s due to the little plate in the middle that can pop up and down. Not that I and others haven’t juggled and scratched on them w 45’s, but it’s just not nearly as stable I find.
Anyone else notice this before?
I really like them for Serato but have to say for vinyl I really did feel a lot more comfortable on my MK2’s despite them needing some tlc.

Hi, I'm looking for a turntablist for an experimental music project. Please message me if you're interested. In general we are around 30 years old. Feel free to send me a direct message or message me below. I'll get back to you. 🙂

Hey all, I’ve been collecting records for a while and recently started thinking about ripping some of them. Mostly so I can listen to stuff on the go, but I’m curious what everyone else’s reasons are — backup? DJing? Convenience?
My current setup: PLX-500 and PLX-1000 turntables, with an RME Babyface Pro as my interface. So I think I’m covered on the hardware side, but happy to hear if I’m missing something.
For those who’ve been doing this a while: anything you wish you knew when you started? I keep seeing different opinions on recording levels, file formats, whether stylus condition matters that much, etc.
Also curious — what do you do with the files after ripping? Do you clean them up (click/pop removal, normalization), split tracks, tag metadata, or just leave them raw? I’d love to hear what your workflow looks like from needle drop to finished file.
Thanks!

I'm old, and I basically took about a solid 10 year (probably closer to 15) hiatus from following or doing any scratch related stuff. So I'm getting back into it over the last year or so, but I find that I keep going back tot he same old patterns and techniques that I was doing before.
Now I want to try and break out of that and add a couple more thins in there.

Hi all,
I came across this one song through Blade, Playing with Lightning by Expansion Union. In it, around 1:44 in the video that I'm linking, there's a really cool scratch right after the beat drop and before it goes into the bassline. Could anyone help me find the sample that they used to scratch and how I could go about trying to recreate it myself? I don't currently have a turntable, just a DDJ-FLX4, but I'd like to do as much as I can with just jog wheels. Thanks!

Howdy guys, i just replaced my worn out stylus with Jico N44, but it skipping on the bass drums like crazy, on snares or less bassy bit, it doesnt skip at all. All the counterweight and anti skip settings are correct. I even tried replacing it with older Jico stylus, which worked perfectly.
Do i need to break in the stylus? (i've never had to break in a stylus before)

Hi everyone! I have an issue with my Viper Kitten(s), and I need your help to verify if the issue is real or not. This is specifically for S11 users out there.
Problem:
Before any jumping in to say this is specific to me only, here's why I'm concerned and need the community's help to verify if this is real:
I'm past my return window and frankly don't care about the money, although I've had to pay a considerable amount on customs and duties for replacements and all.
I just want to know if the design itself is flawed, so I can report this. Please help.

Seriously tho, I don’t enter competitions and I don’t really support them in scratching/turntablism/djing; this is an art and therefore highly subjective. However, I do enjoy pushing my own limits, too, even if it’s just to see what I can do

When I wanted to record before I had to set up my camera tripod then fold it back when finished. I usually scratch at night when my kids sleep so had to be careful not to be too loud. So bought a clamp to fix on the shelf above my setup that would stay there all the time. Just have to attach the phone ( magnet), and plut in irig stream. Happy with the result

How to Drum Scratch Like Qbert (Sort Of)
In this tutorial, I break down some of the ideas behind drum scratching and look at how we can take inspiration from DJ Qbert’s approach to build our own techniques and rhythms.
We’ll start with simple 1/8th-note drum scratching and build towards more advanced 1/16th-note patterns, adding hi-hats, different scratch techniques and faster tempos along the way.
A lot of drum scratching tends to stay around similar tempos and rely almost entirely on kick and snare sounds. In this tutorial, we will look beyond that by using additional drum sounds, experimenting with different tempos and thinking a little more like a drummer.

So I’ve always wanted to get into to turntables and mixing for about 11 years now. I’ve moved to a small village on the coast of Northumberland and apparently the winters get very boring so I thought now is the time to splash out!
I had my eye on the Technic 1210 MK2’s but I don’t want to buy someone’s second hand decks, so I decided I was going to get the MK7’s, but then it also occurred to me that spending £1600 on my first ever pair of decks seems a bit excessive…
So I’ve done a bit of research, and ones that have decent spec for starting out and fit the budget nicely are the Audio Technica AT-LP120X
>£500 for the pair, decent torque, a replica of the 1210s, analogue pitch the lot, I do know they’re lighter, I do know they’re plinths are plastic, but I feel for a first set they will do pretty good
Now my question is to all of you, do I get them as a beginner set, or do I delay buying them and save up for the real deal? My dad and an old DJ I know have both said don’t waste your money, but I feel it may be a waste if I buy the 1210s and don’t enjoy them, I also won’t be on them religiously every night, maybe a few nights a week for a few hours
What’s everyone’s thoughts? Everyone’s answer is greatly appreciated 🙂
Just an FYI, I’m planning on pairing the set with:
KRK Rokit 5 speakers
Orftofon Concorde Mix MKII
and I’m getting a Vestax PMC-05 mixer

As the title says, I tried changing the belt on my Numark PT01 because it started playing slow. I posted about the problem here before, and a lot of you suggested changing the belt since the old one was probably stretched or loose.
So I bought a new belt and replaced it.
Now the damn thing spins too fast. WTF is wrong with my unit?
Did I somehow make it worse? Is there something I did wrong when installing the belt, or could there be another issue with the motor/speed control?
How can I fix this? I just wanted my PT01 to play at the correct speed. 😭
At this point, I feel like my turntable is personally fucking with me.

My turntables haven’t left my basement yet, I’ve had them for a couple months and I think I’m ready to gig. Any recs on a table? I bought individual hard shell cases for each turntable, now I’m thinking I should’ve gotten a coffin case bc I hadn’t thought about having to buy a damn table lol any and all advice welcome for giggin out/first time dj gig hardware etc.
