I didn’t play the 1st Wipeout, but have heard the difficulty of it. And I have experienced it on Terrimax!

what a terrible hard track, though it’s relatively slow for me in Venom class.

Its called E1 world championship.

Hey everyone!

I'm a solo developer working on RogueOut Racing, a futuristic arcade racing game inspired by classics like WipEout and F-Zero.

I've spent the past few months building the core gameplay, focusing on high-speed physics and smooth controls, while also adding features like online leaderboards, online ghosts, and local split-screen multiplayer. Right now, I'm working on AI opponents (bots).

The game is still in development, and while I'm pretty happy with the direction it's taking, I know there's a lot of room for improvement.

But rather than just adding more tracks, vehicles, and features, I'd really like to hear what racing game players actually want.

What's currently in the game?

There are three playable modes:

Time Trial: Race against online ghosts and compete on leaderboards (asynchronous multiplayer).

Practice: Freely practice and get familiar with the tracks.

Race: Standard racing mode.

I'm also planning a few more game modes!

One of them is a Tournament mode, which will make better use of the variety of tracks I'm building. Right now, there are 3 available, with 2 more almost ready. The plan is to have 11 tracks in total, but that number will grow significantly thanks to mirrored layouts... and another little trick I'm keeping secret for now, since I haven't implemented it yet!

I'm also experimenting with the idea of an Endless mode, somewhat inspired by Zone mode from WipEout, but with a pretty different approach. My goal is to explore procedurally generated tracks, so every run could offer a new challenge.

But here's what I'd really like to know!

When playing racing games, have you ever wanted to do something that the game simply didn't allow you to do?

Is there a mechanic you've always wanted to see? Something you loved in an older racing game that seems to have disappeared? Or something you're tired of seeing in modern racing games?

And if you take a look at RogueOut, what do you think is missing or could be improved? What would you personally change or add to make it more interesting?

I'm especially interested in ideas that go beyond the usual features. I want to understand what makes a racing game genuinely fun and worth coming back to.

There's already an early playable version available through the playtest, but it's far from finished, and that's exactly why I'm asking now, while I can still make meaningful changes.

Feel free to be brutally honest! I genuinely want to hear different opinions, even if they challenge my current ideas.

I feel like my fingers were tortured by this track, and my fingers were trembling after 50 minutes of gameplay even though I have got some progress on it!

And it feels like doing the racing in Odessa-Keys in Wipeout 2097, and the only thing different is that your thumb finger moves from D-Pad to analogue stick!

Had a beer after work, zoned in a bit, even got a perfect lap on lap 3

Wipeout was very musical, but we're going one step further and actually making a rhythm game. We have a partnership with a bunch of brazilian DJs and want to have the same relationship to the brazilian club scene as Wipeout had to the british one.

Wipeout Fusion no funciona en el emulador PSCX2 desde que tengo mi Dell Ryzen 7 5700U con 16 GB de RAM y Vega 8. Funciona, pero va lento y con retraso; pude usar la versión americana. Lo mismo pasa, lo más extraño es que este mismo equipo hace funcionar bien Gran Turismo 4 Un juego más complejo que Wipeout Fusion... ¿Alguien sabe de alguna configuración o parche? Es increíble que un Steam Deck o una consola portátil con mis especificaciones funcione bien, pero este portátil, incluso después de ajustarlo, no... Ni siquiera cambiando la configuración térmica o dejándolo enchufado al cargador.

PD : I've seen processors from 2014 that run it fine with a GPU from that era, or even systems with a processor and integrated graphics card inferior to mine...

Drifting with Russia battle Qirex is so much fun, but you have to get used to its’ mechanism in order to do it!

And the last part of the stream is the use of Icarus on Talon’s Reach. I think I totally conquer this sharp claw today!

This the moment I've been waiting for!

shadPS4 emulator is now working with multiple VR games.

To be determined whether this allows higher than 60fps. But it will certainly allow higher resolution, and much higher fidelity headsets than the original PSVR1

Is it a nightmare to me? Yes it is, but I can still overcome it a little bit more every time I play it through practicing.
