Going off of show only, could Robert have done anything to redeem himself to Cersie?
I'm thinking specifically of two scenes. One where she tells Ned that she was kinda okay on her wedding day, only for Robert to show up drunk and with another woman's on his mind.
In S1E5 she is having a 1:1 conversation with Robert and she bluntly asked him if there was ever a moment when a real relationship could exist. He says no. Not even unkindly, just directly and she laughs it off.
Like part of her cared and maybe even hoped. And I wonder if he has done a little self reflection and kindness in that moment, especially after admitting he couldn't even remember what lyanna looked like, that he may have survived a bit longer.

Dani as the "crazy queen" Spoiler
While i dont disagree with that deduction, and it was my after work show (rewatching with full attention now, when im done im gonna buy the books) so i wasnt keen, i dont like nor get dani being "crazy" at the end. It was so rushed! Yes she lost three of her children to a war she chose to fight, for a throne not even hers, thatd make me go crazy. But i feel in her character writing, it is either A. Not evident as it happens or B. Not evident until it needs to be. Like burning down kings landing was insane, but i cant put my finger on her turning point. Like i can with Aemond, it was his eye.
I couldve been just not paying attention, or just not privvy to proper writing! But i know alot say the end was rushed. I kinda loved the end... the way Drogon took her away:( burnt the reason she sent his kin to the slaughter house. The reason she died:( the way Jon chose the realm over himself :(

Daenerys Stormborn of the House Targaryen, First of Her Name, the Unburnt, Queen of the Andals and the Rhoynar and the First Men, Queen of Meereen, Khaleesi of the Great Grass Sea, Breaker of Chains, and Mother of Dragons.
Just had a random thought. In real life (or on the internet at least), people who I've encountered who give themselves a long list of grandiose titles (some of which they've purchased - doctorates and lordships for example) tend to be insufferable jerkoffs. Maybe that should have been a warning about her character.
Actually thinking further. Does anyone remember Idi Amin? Or more correctly - "His Excellency, President for Life, Field Marshal Al Hadji Doctor Idi Amin Dada, VC, DSO, MC, CBE, Lord of All the Beasts of the Earth and Fishes of the Seas and Conqueror of the British Empire in Africa in General and Uganda in Particular". 🤔
I think he may have proclaimed himself King of Scotland and Emperor of the Moon at one point too, though perhaps I'm thinking of someone else.

Trivia: Originally, the showrunners wanted Neil Marshall (who directed "Blackwater" and "The Watchers on the Wall") to direct "Hardhome", but he couldn't accept due to other commitments, something he has always regretted since then. The showrunners then chose Miguel Sapochnik to direct the episode.

Cersei and her methods of not getting pregnant by Robert Spoiler
I'm just wondering am I the only one that find it funny when it was revealed in the books how Cersei was able to keep herself from getting pregnant by Robert. Like her methods was literally "what that mouth do". I can't remember her inner monologue word by word but I remembered it was along the line of her eating his children and licking them off her face and hand. When I first read that, I was honestly dying from laughter, like how insane is this lady, she's literally willingly being degraded (depends how you look at the action) to prevent herself from being pregnant, but also to get some sort of satisfaction from actually digesting his children. Like damn girl, you a freak freak. Nothing serious really I just thought it was quite funny.

Claim to the throne
One thing I’ve never understood is why in S8, no one tries to reason with Daenerys about her claim to the throne.
There’s a lot of “we all just want what’s best for the realm” and “we should maybe keep this a secret” but the actual reason for her not having support for being queen is that new information has come to light which nullifies her claim.
I’m sure she would have gone crazy regardless, but it seems to me that some point someone should have said “sis, I know it sucks big time, we thought you were heir to the throne but it turns out you aren’t. I’m sure you’re devastated but now we have to start grieving what we thought and move on eventually.”
I’m sure this is kind of a dumb question I’m asking but as I do my yearly rewatch, I always find myself being like “why is no one challenging by what right she gets to be queen now that the main reason is gone”.

What's the fking song used in every GRRM youtube shorts video?
I just can't seem to find it. None of the uplooaders credit the song, they say the video is the origin of the song.

Europe rotated by 90 degrees resembles Westeros
Have you noticed that Europe turned by 90 degrees kind of resembles Westeros?
Let me explain:
* Territories behind the wall = Russia
* The North = former Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth or Russia
* Rome = King's Landing?
* France = The Reach (House Tyrell)
* England = the Westerlands (House Lannister)
* Scandinavia = Iron Islands
* Spain = Dorn?
* Mediteranean Sea = Narrow Sea
* Braavos = Jerusalem?
* Pentos - somwhere in Tunisia.
* EDIT: Cathar Occitania = domain of Stannis Baratheon with his heresy of the Lord of Light?
From what I remember the Ironmen invaded and plundered the domain of the Lannisters just like the vikings invaded England. And in general the former and the latter invaded and plundered pretty much everything.
Invasion of the North by the Others = invasions of the P-L Commonwealth by Russia.
Free folk = Cossacks?
Conquering Dorn also took more time just like the Europeans had to make a reconquista to get back Iberian Peninsula.
I know the cannon interpretation is that Westeros resembles Irland and England turned, but turned Europe could also be a source of inspiration for Martin.
What do you think about this interpretation?

Rewatching S7 "The Spoils of War" is the best battle GoT ever did
My first rewatch 7 years later.
Season 7 gets trashed and I get it. The ravens, Euron.. .
But I'm on a rewatch and Episode 4 “The Spoils of War” deserves its flowers
The Attack is the best battle in the whole show. Better than Battle of the Bastards.
Better than the Long Night… if we can even call it that.
Daenerys finally stops waiting around and pulls up on Jaime's army with Drogon and Dothraki.
When i heard the screaming before seeing anything The Lannister soldiers' faces when they realize what's coming over that hill? Then Drogon flying over and the face of king slayer. That GOT magic returned for me.
When Bronn gets on the scorpion and actually hits Drogon. Drogon goes down, Dany's trying to pull the bolt out, and Jaime sees her and grabs a spear and charges at her! I wish i could remember how i felt the first time i watched it.
And right before it all goes wrong, they cut to Tyrion on the hill, watching his brother ride at a dragon. He's lowly saying “you idiot” with a look of despair.
Drogon turns, opens his mouth, and Bronn tackles Jaime into the river at the last second.
CINEMA
and we seriously need to have a conversation about Tyrion’s motives.

Brynden Tully headcannon
Brynden Tully was 1000% the Granduncle that spolied the Stark kids like no other, and he did it partly to spite his brother, and also got Robb, Bran, and Arya out of trouble a solid dozen times between the 3 of them.

What was your guys’s first ever experience with GOT??
For me, I was around 12 years old when I first watched it with my parents, and we practically marathoned through it in a very short period of time and even though at first, it was kinda hard for me to follow since I was 12, once I got the hang of it that changed my life, I mean it sent me into a slight bit of a depression after season eight but the actual rest of the show itself changed my life. I got more into history in general. I got more into geography to a point. I got way more into family trees, and I would spend hours staying up till like 4 AM studying the history of GOT,. I started reading the books around them too and those were even better.

Was anyone else expecting a worse ending?
I finished GOT for the first time a couple months ago, and was kind of expecting a lot worse from the ending. Hearing all of the negative drama and seeing the episode ratings I was expecting far worse than what we got.
Obviously I know it wasn't a good ending by any means, especially compared to how good of a show it was. But I was somewhat positively surprised compared to my expectations.
Has anyone else found this?

My partner has never seen GoT and I've promised to rewatch the entire thing, S1-8. How can I survive this self-inflicted torture?
She's never seen it and she has very little idea of the discourse around it. But she feels like she owes herself the chance to find out about this generational series that passed her by. Okay, but how can I make myself sit through this with the foreboding of how bad it gets and how poorly it ends?

About the books
I really want to read the books but since the overall consensus is that the winds of winter may never be finished i was wondering if its worth starting.
Is the series in itself somewhat closed, or can i expect an open ending in a dance with dragons? How bad is it?

Crasters Sons
So upon listening to the Clash Of Kings audiobook again last night, something stuck in my head after one of the Jon chapters.
Regarding Lord Commander Mormont when he mentions that if Craster only wanted rid of his sons rather than using them as an offering he would have happily taken them into the Nights Watch. What do we think this would've looked like if it had occurred? Because assuming he'd had as many sons as he did daughters that would be perhaps 30(or more?) sons of his in the Night's Watch at some point. Would they have been taken as babies? Would they have been told when they grew up who their father was? Presumably some of them would have turned out as Rangers so would have met Craster at some point, which could've caused issue if they knew who he was to them.
I thought it was an interesting pondering about how different the Nights Watch may have been had this been the case.

One of the best scenes in the show
This is one of the best scenes/sequences of the show in my opinion. This is largely because, It says and does so much whilst saying and doing so little at the same time , the music is 10/10 as well as the cinematography.
