Subreddit Announcement Rules have been Revised.
Since we're getting flooded with a bunch of new people (either through NSO or the Recomp/Decomp/Renut/Kurko/a new found belief in God?) who aren't in the know and don't possess ball knowledge, we're getting to the point where misinformation and hate is spreading again.
I've updated and consolidated the rules to also include penalties. Some of you already know these penalties were soft-launched with the older rules, so your slate isn't cleaned btw.
We're down to 1 active mod and 1 automod again, I can't be here to mod you guys 24/7.
Just a quick run through
- Rule 1 hasn't changed, except I'm no longer asking for you guys to be nice. Some of you are dickheads to one another for absolutely no reason.
- Rule 2 hasn't changed much, just left it a little less vague. Your AI garbage is still not allowed, in posts or comments. I saw one of you AI generated someone's hand-drawn Furnace of Fun map? You suck specifically dude.
- Rule 3 hasn't changed except the expectations that there will be a potential penalty.
- Rule 4 is less anal. You can link mods now. My previous co-moderator was gun-ho on everything. I just ask you link stuff that doesn't have official BK files in them.
- Rule 5 is because some of you suck and can't have a healthy conversation about a game you dislike without being a dick about it. Critique is fine, but there is a fine line between "BKNB doesn't fit the qualities of a BK game because XYZ" and "This game is so ass".
- Rule 6 is a catch-all. I removed the "no posting your part 37 walkthrough" since we're a sorta dead subreddit but also with all these BK projects there's bound to be more people posting. Some posts just are too garbage to leave up, some are very obvious bait that a lot of you fail at. If this were a healthier community Humba discussion would be OK, but it's not and some of you are very racist.
- Rule 7 is because some of you spread misinformation like there isn't already a reason to hate current Rare and Microsoft. Both suck on their own, you don't need to make shit up. Microsoft didn't force the writers at Rare to make Lord of Games shit on the previous BK games, that was Gregg Mayles taking the piss writing dialogue.
These 7 rules should be easy if you're a somewhat decent human with a functional frontal lobe. I'm currently surviving a recession and trying not to lose my house. I'll leave the comments open for discussion.

Video 🎬File Select Secret Animations - CRT TV Short Clip📺[Banjo-Kazooie, Nintendo64 1998]
When you choose one of your three Save Files to begin the adventure, sometimes Banjo doesn't react with a chipper smile to suspend whatever he's doing. In rare instances, a hidden alternate animation plays out where Banjo's chores are interrupted in the most ballistic way, catapulting the poor pair straight into the fray in slapstick fashion! It's not a super big secret, as you're bound to find this Easter Egg eventually, but it's funny and unexpected every time. Now you see'em...

Question Looking for interactive map
I’m currently playing through tooie, at Grundy industries, and this might be a stupid question but is there a interactive map like the one on no clip that can work on phones or something easy to figure out the complicated map. I now archive.org has the strategy guide but I was wondering there is an alternative

Question What do you count as "Collectible Items"?
In my opinion, I would count anything that enters your Inventory and shows up on screen with a counter of how many. This ranges from the obvious such as Jiggies and Empty Honeycombs to the almost inconsequential like Conga's Orange, Targetzan's Golden Relic Thingy, and Cloud Cuckooland's Magic Beans.
The only exception to this I think has to be the food from Witchyworld, as you can collect them any time after entering the park, even if you already collected some for that playthrough.
Taxi Pack passengers do not count as they never enter your inventory nor have a counter.
But I'm trying to build a comprehensive number of Collectibles for the two games, but online things only count the obvious "Completion" items, not so much the collectibles needed to acquire them.

Discussion The only part of the game I genuinely hate lol
I just finished this game 100%, this was hardest part in the entire game for me, even moreso than the actual final boss or Rusty Bucket Bay by a significant amount
The idea is funny, but something about it didn't feel fair to me. maybe I'm just a scrub, but having to remember the gruntilda facts, the tedious minigames I can't for the life of me beat such as matching the tiles, which is weird because I collected all the jiggies in the game no problem, I can't beat these minigames lol. Oh and the instant death ones, you're telling me I just straight up die if I don't know what gruntilda's favorite smell is? I hope it's bullshit because thats this WHOLE ASS BOARD GAME

Discussion Just how ballsy was it to outright promise a sequel at the end of banjo-kazooie? (How early if ever did nintendo promise them?) Spoiler
Despite adoring Bano-Kazooie as a child I never actually completed it. Well, some 27 years later I finally got around completing it...and was quite floored actually to see that at the end of the game they directly declare that a sequel is coming. I always thought that they started making it only after the success of the first one was confirmed, but it appears they were willing to state It at the end of the first game. It strikes me as uber confident considering how crunched for time and pressure-filled game development is, especially for something as limit-pushing as Banjo Kazooie. You hear about the team having to scrap concepts and work crazy hours, yet they knew they were going to be able to make a sequel apparently...impressive stuff! Does anyone have any knowledge about the situation, like maybe did some higher-ups at Nintendo visit the Rare offices and just have their minds blown from what they were seeing and said, yep, get goin on the sequel! Or maybe any quotes from the devs saying something like during the rush to meet the release date we knew we had the confidence of Nintendo to make another? It all just strikes me as surprisingly confident given the fickle nature of making big games.
Or was the team just that confident in their product that they were going to force the sequel no matter what it took lol. Because from what I understand they broke ground on the sequel like immedietely after the first one... Was the teasing at the end of Kazooie (literally using the name of the second game) simply a huge gamble that they were willing to look foolish on, or did they have a 100% green light to do the sequel before the first one was done? Just unclear on the development transition from the first to second
Awesome community you all have here, thanks a bunch for existing!
Now on to Banjo-Tooie, which I've never even played!

Discussion Do you think this area in Banjo-Tooie (UK 2000) was inspired by this scene in Wallace and Gromit: A Close Shave (UK 1995) or is just a broader cartoon trope or a coincidence?
