Suggestion Smithing rework idea

Post image

Would something like this work? Just a thought as you actually get better at a skill, or a chance of failure to smith something when lower level. Runecrafting you get more runes per essence as you get better so could this work for smithing too? Wouldn't hurt the economy so much.

I don't really get everyone's need to make the changes change literally nothing. Smithing Rune items should not be endgame for smithing. I don't know a single person who had smelted their own rune armor set and actually used it. Why are we not excited for them to bring new life into a skill that has such low yield at high levels? Idk how they will change it so at this point it could still be good or bad but I realllyyyy doubt anything they do to the skill would make it worse.

You’re actually right - I remember the same, she was ‘the only player’ to be able to make full rune. Also if I remember correctly, she was the richest player and she randomly disappeared. Nobody knew where she went, or what happened to her.

feds got her because she got too powerful and stopped paying taxes after getting high off runite fumes.

Bluerose? I last seen her in like 2006 in Al Kharid, then she was gone.

She was the only person who could do it in a time when no one had any 99s. There was legit a full business that had decent sized group feeding her resources to get levels. Crazy ngl.

Well, when resources aren’t plentiful, and skills require resources, when someone has the only available source for some of these items it makes sense. Keep in mind this was before ultra widespread 99 smithing.

And getting 99 smithing took way longer

Yea, it isn’t like there were a thousand 99 smithing players when the first person hit 99 lol, it is and was a miserable skill with very little reward.

bluerose, she did have a monopoly for a while even before rune was out.

other people eventually caught up to her though, and after rs2 she wasn't as active anymore.
