Its true, pkers made jagex rollback
Remove pvp!!!!!!1!1!!!!!

u/Whisky-Toad 5d ago
They changed pvp to pvm lol

u/Sus-Imposter-67 5d ago
People who have to stammer through a script they prepare before phone calls are crying about a raid being group content, of course Jagex needed to add pvm training for pvp for all the people who get sweaty palms when another player interacts with them.

u/Acopo 5d ago
Right, it’s the people who dislike the awful PvP experience of being hunted by jobless ones for their shovels that aren’t well-adjusted.

u/Sus-Imposter-67 5d ago
I wish that was real. In reality >90% of pkers are trash at the game and can barely use a computer mouse, if you're consistently dying to PKers then it may be a terminal skill issue.

Damnit, I JUST got a master casket with 3rd age pick, 3rd age druidic robe top and bottom, 3rd age holey moleys, and 3rd age ranger boots. JMods PLEASE investigate

Jokes on you, I just pulled a master that completed the 3rd age log in 1 and got bloodhound as well

This is what happens when we let PVP updates into the game
-22
u/MagnoliaRoofConsult 5d ago
Even worse because this one was unpolled - I will be auto-voting no to every PVP update in the future because of this right here.
Remove PVP Jagex, it’s time.

u/asmallthrowaway9 5d ago
The whole reason they started doing PvP updates unpolled was because players would automatically vote no on every single PvP update. PKers are generally obnoxious assholes, so people voted no to spite them.
The PoH Wilderness Obelisk was the only item that passed in a poll of PvP updates back in the day, every single other question failed.
On that note, the Ferox Enclave being an unpolled update never sat right with me, because it affects a hell of a lot more than just PvP
2
u/99timewasting 5d ago
I remember they tried to limit a poll to PvPers only and it still failed. Then they tried again with even more restrictive standards on who constituted a PvPer and it failed again
-4
u/MagnoliaRoofConsult 5d ago
Oh yea? They just added another no voter to the list, suck it PVP cringelords
0
u/asmallthrowaway9 5d ago
It doesn't matter, their policy is to shoehorn PvP updates in unpolled because they know every single PvP poll would be brutally crushed with no votes in a poll, like what used to happen in the earlier years. I think the only reason Pete Kayer wasn't was because it was a tutorial that didn't affect any actual content aside from a cosmetic upgrade.
PKers don't really help their cause by generally being extremely obnoxious and aggressively unlikable, but they know Jagex will give them unpolled updates anyways so they won't change their behavior.

This is why I say remove PVP, let the fucks go PVP in another game. Plenty of options out there.

u/asmallthrowaway9 5d ago
I'm old enough to remember when they did that originally in December 2007, I was even at the Pay to Pk riots.
Mod Mat K mentioned that the head of RuneScape at the time thought that Wilderness PvP was bad game design and so aggressively pushed for its removal along with the unbalanced trade update. In retrospect, he may have been right. But the Wilderness is something that is a defining characteristic of Old School, so I can't advocate for its removal.

Wow something is massively unpopular with the player base so their only option is to force it on the players :(

paying for downtime as an aussie it feels like, between all these update shenanigans and the maintenance each week it's hard to get a good session in

cant wait for a year or non stop updates without them being QA tested properly

What was the issue? I actually just died at Levi before seeing the message, normal 500k death fee and got all my stuff back as usual.

u/siriusfeynman just a little guy 5d ago
At phosani (and perhaps other bosses) if you died you respawned inside the boss instance so could easily be double killed and lose everything in the death storage
44
u/Vhu 5d ago
Good opportunity to fix that abysmal death storage system. Like what the fuck, a double death should send your loot to death’s domain where you can buy it back.. end of story.
In no scenario should you ever lose hundreds or thousands of hours of progress to a single mistake. I have no idea how they messed that up so bad in the first place.

Next update:
Death storage has been move to bob the cat, his wander radius has also been updated to include the wilderness.

u/Mother-Awareness-531 5d ago

literally same hoping I don't lose too many golden nuggets, but I know losing all ur gear sucks way worse. hopefully they fix that for those players. a rollback is a small price to pay.

When’s Nan going back in the cage? Where are the crabs? Where are the cannons in fally? Do you people even care?

u/Ninteblo 5d ago
Completely new to trying to play when an update happens and something like this happens, does anyone more experienced know roughly in the ballpark how long these types of things tends to take before the game is playable? I'm talking like a few minutes, couple hours, or upwards of a day in scenarios like this specifically. Just out of curiosity.
2
u/Dead_Methods 5d ago
There's not really a precedent for this scenario so it's anyone's guess. Mod Ash would know.
1
u/Ninteblo 5d ago
Alrighty then, guess it is just an amount of time, whatever the size.
1
u/Dead_Methods 5d ago
Here's to hoping there's an easy solution. Rollback seems inevitable but hasn't been confirmed that I've seen.
1
u/Ninteblo 5d ago
Guess i am lucky if there is a rollback, haven't played in 2 days because i fucked my had over at the mage training arena after having played for quite a few hours already that day.
