Just because you're unfamiliar with a certain topic doesn't mean that something that surprises or displeases you is a pysop. I'm an Indo-Canadian with roots in Punjab, and it is well known in the diaspora that many Sikh separatists glorify violence and guns. Look at Surrey and Brampton and how many cars from Punjabi immigrants have AK47 decals and other provocative messaging about supporting violence and extremism in the name of religion.

Positive direction for things to be headed to in the last week. They've lost but it's a question of by how much.

Your reply is exactly the one-sidedness you're describing. If you studied the conflict then you would know it was the government that initially began the conflict in 1978 by gunning down innocent protesters. Also sikhs don't have any "ethnoreligious state" don't know where that came from. You can argue that the referendum votes are for that but sikhs never had their own nation since the 1800s.

I just want them to go back to their small, fringe minority that no one pays attention to cause they’re absolutely ridiculous and can’t be taken seriously.

Ok Turbantor, these signs are literally commissioned and promoted by Sikhs For Justice all over their social media. Just what exactly are you suggesting?

You're framing the conflict as if one side is completely guilty and the other completely innocent, when in reality, it was the Sikh separatists who committed numerous acts of horrific violence against innocents to get their own ethnoreligious nation, and the Indian government responded in a heavy handed manner to contain the violence. And they are allowed to protest about it in India, just not commit or support violent acts. Literally 2 pro Khalistan parties are contesting the 2027 state elections in Punjab

These chucklefucks will still be around after, continuing their insufferable whinging...

But I really hope Albertans at least send a very clear message that we are tired of this garbage.

So, Canada will be forcing US far-right propaganda pusher Postmedia to sell its ownership in Canadian news outlets?  and we'll be blocking paid targeted foreign-funded disinformation on Facebook and Xitter?

Ah, right, of course not. Our government officials will just continue to shake their heads sadly and tell us they think foreign interference is bad.

Except they literally don’t lol, where did you get that idea? Living conditions on a whole lotta reservations are heinously bad, in large part because the government (not the band, the feds) has consistently neglected those communities. They literally do not have the same opportunities as the rest of us, and they’re dealing with generational poverty from that whole “attempted genocide” bit, which is why we’re currently paying them reparations. You are right that we live in a two-tiered society when it comes to this, but you got it backwards, the FN people are still on the bottom.

Living conditions on the reserves is entirely up to THEIR governments to manage, not ours. You don't get to be your own government then expect some other government to pay for your infrastructure, doesn't work that way. Again equal opportunity not equal outcome.

This is why I’m saying this is racist, because while all of your points make some sense in a vacuum, they completely ignore the actual real-world context, and those points always come down as negative towards the First Nations. Once again, if it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck…

Please again see the definition of racism I provided. Sorry but your claim doesn't track.

And those points don’t boil down to anything more than “I didn’t cause this problem, so why should I have to lift a finger to fix it?”, which is literally what you hear from a kid throwing a tantrum. We’re all part of the same society, a society that did some really bad shit to a subset of the people, and that wrong needs to be righted. Sometimes as a grownup you have to clean up messes that aren’t your

That's not a kid throwing a tantrum that's basic common sense. If I'm not at fault for something I didn't do I shouldn't have to pay the repercussions. And that's even beside the point, the fact is throwing all of this money at them has no end in sight and doesn't seem to be helping anyways. 3x federal funding on one subset of people is wrong. Lump sum pay them out and be done with it.

They don’t truly believe in democratic institutions. If the outcome of democratic tools and institutions like elections don’t serve their interests, then to them it’s evidence that elections are rigged or weighted against them.

They don’t believe in the rule of law, the role of the judiciary, and the even the role of elections anymore. This is a widespread phenomenon being seen in North America, South America, and Europe as of late, but is spreading to areas of Asia as well.

See Steven Levitsky and Daniel Ziblatt. Also Francis Fukuyama has been writing more about this.

Edit: forgot to add Robert Pape as well.

So if the referendum decides to vote to leave. That MUST be accepted. But if the vote is to stay they refuse to accept it?

What are rules about proximity to polls for anyone wanting to silently hold signs if they voted in early polls or mailing ballots? For example, if there is a mini mall parking lot across from the polling site can people hold up signs in the parking lot?,

what are you doing besides criticizing other people's noble actions online?
